Actor Jang Hyuk Stars in Taiwanese Singer Elva's New Music Video

Actor Jang Hyuk has appeared in top Taiwanese singer Elva's new music video.

According to Jang's management agency, Sidus HQ, the actor stars as Elva's love interest in three of her latest music videos.

The Taiwanese producer of the music video said although it was the first time that the two stars met, they shared great chemistry and delivered an outstanding performance.

Jang became well-known in Taiwan through dramas such as "Successful Story of a Bright Girl" and films like "Introducing My Girlfriend."

Jang, who recently became married, has been cast in the upcoming SBS TV drama series "Tajja" and film "Penthouse Elephant."

He is on the coverage of Flix Korea (japanese magazine). The magazine spared alomst 20 pages in introducing his story and works. Lucky japanese gals.

His introduction of Robbers seems right to the point. He said Robbers is meaningful to him because he really enjoyed filming with other actors and staff who looked so happy about what they were doing. They had a nice team work, he said.

Tazza Jang Hyuk receives private tutoring from a real Tazza

Being cast as the male lead 'Goni' of the SBS drama 'Tazza,' Jang Hyuk's giving an effort to learn tazza's hand juggling from an expert as the first fliming of the drama scheduled around July 20th comes close. Since he is now in filiming the movie 'Penthouse Elephant', he's puting extra time to learn tazza's techniques. According to his aides, he visits a tazza (professional hwatoo gambler) at least once a week and receives a special lesson all day long from morning to night. As the tazza wants to stay anonymous, only Jang Hyuk is allowed to enter the specialist's office to get education. Even his manger has to stay outside during the entire lesson. Since Jang Hyuk does not have much time to practice tazza's techniques, he mostly practices when being transported in his van or at the free time between filming movie scenes.

Besides him, all other cast members spend millions of hours in studying and practicing to learn tazza's techniques. None of them are familiar with Korean card games ('hwatoo'). The drama staff said they need to master the hand techniques to enhance the reality since the camera has limitations in making their awkward handling look professional.

전문가 개인강사 '특별과외' 도박 손기술 익히기 구슬땀

배우 장혁이 화투 삼매경에 빠졌다.

장혁은 9월 방송 예정인 SBS 드라마 '타짜' (극본 야설록·연출 강신효)에서 주인공 고니로 일찌감치 캐스팅된 이후 요즘 7월20일 전후로 예정된 첫 촬영에 앞서 화투 기술 배우기에 여념이 없다.

장혁은 현재 촬영중인 영화 '펜트하우스코 끼리'에서 주연을 맡고 있어 시간 나는 틈틈이 진짜 '타짜'(도박 기술 전문가)를 찾아가 특별 교육을 받고 있다. 측근들에따르면 그는 일주일에 적어도 하루는 '사장님'으로 불리는 개인 강사와 함께 아침부터 밤까지 하루 종일 꼼짝 않고 화투만 익히고있다.

장 혁 소속사측은 "영화 촬영 때문에 집중적인 연습이 어렵다. 촬영 중 잠깐씩 쉬는 시간이나 차로 이동할 때 늘 화투를 만지며살고 있다"고 전했다. 이 관계자는 "화투를 가르치는 분이 신원이 노출되는 것을 싫어해 장혁 외에는 아무도 교육이 진행되는사무실 안에 들어갈 수 없어 매니저도 밖에서 대기하고 있다"고 소개했다.

'타짜'에 출연하는 다른 출연진들도 '화투 과외'를 받기는 마찬가지다. 아귀 역을 맡은 김갑수나 고광렬의 손현주, 영민 역의 김민준 등 주요 남자 연기자들이 공교롭게도 모두 화투에 대해서는 문외한. 드라마 대본 상 모든 출연진들이 화투를 능수능란하게 다룰 줄 알아야 하기 때문에 이들도 요즘 화투 익히느라 여념이 없다.

그나마 이들에 비해 장혁은 MBC '고맙습니다' 에서 도박에 빠졌던 의사 민기서 역을 연기하면서 화투 잡는 법을 배워 초반 진도는 좋은 편이다. 드라마 제작진은 "배우들의열의가 필요하다. 촬영 기법으로 어느 정도 커버할 수 있겠지만 사실적인 장면을 위해서는 배우들의 유연한 손기술이 필수적이다"라고말했다.

만화가 허영만의 동명 원작을 소재로 한 '타짜'는 2006년 영화로 개봉해 조승우 김혜수 김윤석 백윤식 등의 호연에 힘입어 680만 명의 관객으로 한국영화 흥행 순위 7위에 올랐다.

Movie-Based Dramas to Fill TV Screens

Another movie-based drama, ``Tazza'' is expected to be released this coming August. The movie ``Tazza: The High Rollers'' was a big hit back in 2006, with the attractive Kim Hye-soo as the seductive Madam Jeong and actor Cho Seung-woo as a gambler. Actor Jang Hyuk (``Windstruck,'' 2004) and Kim Min-jun (``Doctor Bong,'' 2007) will play the ambitious gamblers, while actress Han Ye-seul will appear as the heroine Gwang-sook. This will be Han's first show in two years after her hit drama ``Fantastic Couple'' (2006). The role of Madam Jeong is still vacant with candidates such as Sung Hyun-ah and Kang Sung-yeon on the list. While the movie depicts the thrilling lives of professional gamblers, the drama ``Tazza'' will portray the competitive gambling race between two talented and ambitious young gamblers.
