황진이 (Hwang Jin-Yi) hasn't even begun shooting, and it's already found major competition. Writer Kim Do-Woo of 내 이름은 김삼순 (My Lovely Sam-Soon) has been preparing her new Drama 여우야 뮈하니 (What's Up, Fox?) for quite some time, but nothing was really set in stone when it comes to casting. First it was rumoured Hyun Bin would be the lead, but as MBC started struggling with Kim over the direction of the show -- Kim wanted something a little closer to her past show 눈사람 (Snowman), while MBC wanted another Sam-Soon -- the young actor dropped out. But the show has just cast its new lead, which will be Go Hyun-Jung, who recently completed shooting for Hong Sang-Soo's 해변의 여인 (Woman on the Beach). The show will be a Wed/Thu Drama airing from October, and will be produced by Kwon Seok-Jang of 결혼하고 싶은 여자 (Marry Me). This will be another romcom in the vein of last year's megahit, but this time there will be no 2nd Generation Chaebol, played by 굿바이 솔로 (Goodbye Solo)'s Cheon Jung-Myung. [DC Inside - 7/19]

Synopsis:

"Foxy Lady" is the drama that follows "Over The Rainbow" in this broadcasting time slot. Its first episode is scheduled to air on September 20, Wednesday (Script writer: Kim Do-woo, Producer: Kwon Suk-jang). The story is about a not-so-bright older girl who dreams of a "fantasy love" and her relationship with her friend's brother who is nine years younger than her. The drama stars Ko Hyun-jung and Chun Jung-myung as the odd couple with such a huge age gap. Ko Hyun-jung stars as Ko Byung-hee, a girl with the heart of a 24-year-old who is actually 33 and working as a reporter in a third-rate magazine company. She frequently finds it hard to cope with the blandness of her life. What she dreams of is working for a company that she can be proud of and finding a man who can provide warm support when she needs it. In addition, she wants to go on a world tour in a camping car with her new love. Suddenly, she gets into an accident with her friend Seung-hye's brother, Chul-su (Seung-hye and Chul-su are played by Ahn Sun-young and Chun Jung-myung, respectively). Chun Jung-myung stars as Park Chul-su, a 24-year-old male working as a mechanic at a car repair shop. Chun makes his first appearance on an MBC drama with this show. Although Chul-su does not have much in life, he is filled with ambition and enjoys life by doing the things he loves: working as a mechanic and traveling. How many people actually find the love they dream of? Until they realize that true love is just around the corner, this couple continues to pursue this unique romantic relationship of "dating a friend's brother" and "dating my sister's friend". "Foxy Lady" is written by Kim Do-woo who also penned the wildly popular "My Lovely Sam-soon". Producer Kwon Suk-jang, who has created such fun-loving dramas for women such as "Lady Next Door" and "Marry Me" is in charge of the production.

Hmm... this might an interesting drama to watch. I didn't care too much for GHH in Spring Days, but it would be really interesting to see her in a romantic comedy since Spring Days was a real serious storyline. I wonder who else will be casted and what the story is about. I really liked Kim Sam Soon, so I hope the storyline is just as good.

“고현정, ‘제2의 김삼순’ 되나?”

고현정이 MBC 새 수목드라마 ‘여우야 뭐하니’(극본 김도우, 연출 권석장)에 출연한다. SBS의 ‘봄날’ 이후 1년 4개월만의 드라마 복귀작이다.

‘여우야 뭐하니’에서 특히 눈길을 끄는 대목은 고현정이 맡은 톡톡 튀는 캐릭터. 고현정은 마음은 스물 셋이지만 나이는 서른 셋인 삼류잡지의 기자 고병희 역을 맡았다.

고현정의 이번 배역은 얼핏 지난해 최고 인기를 기록한 ‘김삼순’ 캐릭터를 연상시킨다. 드라마 ‘내 이름은 김삼순’을 집필한 김도우 작가의 작품이라는 점, 상대역인 스물네살의 연하남 철수(천정명)와 유쾌한 로맨스를 펼친다는 점 등이 그러하다.

성인잡지에 음란한 기사를 쓰지만 정작 남자 경험은 없는 고병희는 술에 취해 친구 승혜(안선영)의 동생인 철수와 ‘사고’를 치면서 좌충우돌 러브 스토리를 그린다.

다만 상대역이 ‘내 이름은 김삼순’의 현빈과 같은 재벌2세가 아닌 자동차 정비소 정비공이라는 점이 이색적이다.

‘여우야 뭐하니’는 고현정과 천정명 외에도 윤여정·손현주·권해효 등이 출연한다. 드라마 ‘오버 더 레인보우’ 후속으로 9월 20일부터 방송될 예정이다.

신인 탤런트 김은주(22)가 MBC 새 수목 미니시리즈 '여우야 뭐하니'(극본 김도우·연출 권석장 )에서 고현정의 동생 역을 꿰찼다.

김은주는 이 드라마에서 B급 패션 모델로 일에서도 성공하고, 능력 있는 남자도 만나 폼나게 살고 싶은 욕심쟁이 고준희 역을 맡았다. 준희는 판타지적 사랑을 꿈꾸는 꺼벙이 노처녀 언니 병희(고현정 )와는 달리 항상 자신 만만하고 대담하며 맹랑 발칙한 전형적인 신세대.

언니는 돌아가신 아버지를 닮았고 자신은 엄마를 닮아 자매가 서로 다른 외모를 지닌것도 특징이다. 8살의 나이차 때문에 언니 병희희가 거의 업어 키우다시피 했다.

'여우야 뭐하니' 제작진은 "김은주는 신인이지만, 언니 역을 맡은 대선배 고현정에게도 밀리지 않을 끼와 연기력을 갖췄다"며 캐스팅의 변을 밝혔다.

Wrote something here last week but it was gone.

Anyhoo, I love the scriptwriter of MNIKSS becoz her lines are crisp, beautiful, relevant and meaningful. I think she did a good job in MNIKSS and won awards for it. Altho this looks like a drama that is carved out of the MNIKSS league, I hope it will not be just a second-rate trying hard copy-cat of MNIKSS.

First time I saw Go Hyun Jung is in Srping Days. I find her acting good from the first few episodes of SD that I've seen. (after ep. 5 of that drama, I cant find the strength or urge to go on. )

Chun Jung Myung showed so much promise in Fashion '70's. You can see that this guy has so much to offer and has the potential to improve. He was better in Goodbye Solo. I think it's a good career move for him to try a different genre. Tho he has been in 2 dramatic series, I feel that he can be effective also in a romcom. Watching him in X-man, you can see that naughty glint in his eyes and the mischievous smile. He can be funny if he wants too.

Unless, we see them interacting on the screen, we cannot really judge if they have good chemistry or not. Let's pray that they can have the same rapport and screen presence as Kim Sun Ah and Hyun Bin.

Yay!! Chun Jung Myung is in another drama ^^ I guess they purposely made the girl a bit older.. The storyline's a little...eh. But I'm definitely going to watch this when it comes out!!!
