Hong Eun Hee, Jeon Hye Bin, Go Won Hee, and Kim Kyung Nam have been cast for KBS2’s new weekend drama “Okay Kwang Sisters” (literal title)!

“Okay Kwang Sisters” will premiere in March 2021 following the conclusion of “Homemade Love Story.” The new weekend drama will be a mystery thriller and a melodramatic comedy about an entire family becoming murder suspects after the family’s mother is killed during the process of a divorce.

The drama will be written by Moon Young Nam, who wrote hit dramas including “My Rosy Life,” “Famous Chil Princesses,” “Terms of Endearment,” “Three Brothers,” “Wang’s Family,” and “Liver or Die.” The show will be helmed by director Lee Jin Seo, who worked on “Mandate of Heaven: The Fugitive of Joseon,” “Babyfaced Beauty,” and “Birth of a Rich Man.”

Hong Eun Hee will play Lee Kwang Nam, the proud and selfish first daughter of Lee Chul Soo (Yoon Joo Sang). She has animosity towards her father for making her mother suffer since she grew up receiving unconditional love from her mother.

Jeon Hye Bin will play Lee Kwang Shik, an intelligent and righteous government employee and Lee Chul Soo’s second daughter. Although she makes the wrong choice because she didn’t receive love from her parents, she’s wise and deeply considerate. The actress will reunite with scriptwriter Moon Young Nam after they worked together on “Liver or Die.”

The main lineup for KBS weekender Okay Gwang Sisters has been confirmed. This upcoming drama is mashup of many genres including mystery, thriller, melo, comedy, and family. Amidst the divorce proceedings of the Gwang sisters’ parents, their mother is murdered, and everyone in the family becomes a suspect.

 

 

Okay Gwang Sisters is being written by the queen of addictive family dramas, Moon Young-nam (Rosy Life, Wang Family). The core family consists of Yoon Joo-sang (The Uncanny Counter), Hong Eun-hee (Bad Detective), Jeon Hye-bin (Leverage), and Go Won-hee (Unique! Chef Moon).

Yoon Joo-sang plays the patriarch of the Gwang sister family. He was the firstborn son of a traditional family, and as a result, he’s a bit old-fashioned. Hong Eun-hee plays the oldest Gwang sister, Lee Gwang-nam, who is prideful and selfish. Definitely the most princessy of the bunch, Hong’s character received a lot of maternal love growing up, and she harbors a deep resentment toward her father for making her mother suffer. Her husband is played by Choi Dae-chul (Awaken), who is a successful lawyer. Although he’s agreed with his wife to use protection, in his heart, he’s always wanted a child.

KBS’s upcoming drama “Revolutionary Sisters” has shared stills of Kim Kyung Nam and Jeon Hye Bin, as well as Hong Eun Hee, Jeon Hye Bin, and Go Won Hee, who play the titular sisters.

A unique blend of mystery, romance, and comedy, “Revolutionary Sisters” is an upcoming weekend drama from KBS about three sisters whose entire family comes under suspicion when their mother is murdered in the middle of her divorce with their father.

Jeon Hye Bin plays Lee Gwang Sik, a smart and fair-minded civil servant and the second daughter of Lee Chul Soo (Yoon Joo Sang). Kim Kyung Nam plays Han Ye Seul, an aspiring singer who dropped out of school and moved to Seoul to follow his dream of becoming a rock star.

In the new stills, the two characters – who could not be more different – have a suspicious encounter at a police station. Han Ye Seul looks like he’s been in a fight and glares at Lee Gwang Sik with a sullen expression, while Lee Gwang Sik is confident and firmly denies Han Ye Seul’s complaints. The two continue to glare at each other even when Lee Gwang Sik stands up to take a sudden phone call.

But her life is turned upside down with the news of her parents’ divorce and her mother’s death—along with the suspicion that her husband might be unfaithful. A unique blend of mystery, romance, and comedy, “Revolutionary Sisters” is about three sisters whose whole family comes under suspicion when their mother is murdered in the middle of her divorce with their father.

Hong Eun Hee, Jeon Hye Bin, and Go Won Hee star as the titular sisters: Lee Gwang Nam, Lee Gwang Sik, and Lee Gwang Tae. The sisters have different personalities and lead vastly different lives.

In the first episode, Lee Chul Soo (Yoon Joo Sang) received a notice for divorce from his wife, prompting a war between him and his three daughters, who wanted him to settle with their mother and get a divorce. Unable to persuade his daughters otherwise, Lee Chul Soo grew despondent. The first episode came to a dramatic end as he took medicine and collapsed, leading Lee Gwang Sik to call Lee Gwang Nam and tearfully exclaim, “Our father passed away.”

In new stills from the upcoming second episode, the three sisters are seen at a funeral, throwing themselves onto the casket in desperation.

 

 

 

The funeral scene was filmed in February, and the three actors were said to have grown quiet in order to prepare for the emotions required of them for the scene. Right on cue, they unleashed the grief buried deep inside of them, creating a somber atmosphere on set with their heavy tears.

The drama’s producers commented, “Hong Eun Hee, Jeon Hye Bin, and Go Won Hee made the set ring with the sound of their cries and wails. To find out the story behind why the three daughters suddenly held a funeral fraught with sorrow, tune in to the second episode.”

In the newly released stills, Lee Gwang Nam, Lee Gwang Sik, and Lee Gwang Tae face a devastating moment in the middle of the street. Lee Gwang Nam receives a phone call from someone, and her younger sisters watch her with wide eyes. Lee Gwang Nam hangs up the phone and bursts into tears, making viewers wonder what could have made her so emotional.
