[NEWS] Big Bang Dominates Music Charts of Korea & iTunes International. (110302)

While it was expected that Big Bang's new album would make it tao the top of many of Korea's music charts, the hip hop group has established dominance on Mnet's singles chart, placed on the top ten of iTunes' worldwide album chart, and sold an estimated 100,000 albums on its day of release!

Big Bang's comeback album was certainly anticipated by many, but few would have been able to predict the whirl of albums sold and charts topped within a day of its release. A Korean music store reported first-day sales of Big Bang's fourth mini album to be 58,000, making it very likely that over 100,00 albums were sold in total on its first day.

In addition, the group's first single from the album, "Tonight," has topped Mnet's weekly chart for February 21-28. Once the entire album was released, all six of its tracks established themselves in Mnet's top ten single's chart by taking all 1-6 positions!

Finally, Big Bang has broken an important record by placing #6 on iTunes Top Ten albums chart. While other Korean artists had managed to chart on iTunes under their respective genres, Big Bang is the first to break into the iTunes' top ten total album sales. Making the feat even more impressive, Big Bang has never officially promoted in America!

As Big Bang is expected to debut in the United States this summer, we can predict them to be very successful if their current iTunes sales are any indication!

^ how do they have time to promote in the US in the summer?

after korean promotions end in april, they release a new single in japan and tour there and promote there till end of june. then korean promotions again from july to sept. then back to japan in oct till end of year.

so maybe that tonight english version will be the one

wait.... what?! big bang's debuting in the states this summer??? blink.gif i'm not sure what it means when it says "to debut in the states, big bang is going for international"... is that referring to them going back to japan? i'm a bit confused LOL. thanks for posting the article & you're welcome btw ^^ 

edit: @meli, it was supposed to end at midnight on March 1st which would've been late last night... but they extended it to 12PM today. i'm sorry that you didn't get to post something, but maybe you can post it at the other pinned big bang thread about YG's sponsoring soompi? all that matters is that the boys will see what we've been writing & they'll be able to see your love for them ^_^

[News] Big Bang's "TONIGHT" debuts atop Mnet chart

Five-member male band Big Bang has returned with a bang, securing the No.1 spot on both the singles and album charts of music cable channel Mnet during the final week of February.

Big Bang's "TONIGHT," the title track from their fourth mini-album released on February 24, secured the top spot on the singles chart.

It pushed back previous week's winner "The Story Only I Didn’t Know" from female songstress IU's EP album to second place.

Third on the chart was "HANDS UP," also from Big Bang's new album, that incorporates hip-hop and electronica music.

Also first on the albums chart was Big Bang's mini-album, featuring a total of six tracks including house, dance, hip hop, electronic and other various genres of music.

The album, which is the first album released by the group in two years, not only listed five songs in the top 10 of Mnet’s singles chart but also entered top 10 of Apples' iTunes records chart last week.

IU’s third mini-plus album "Real +" composed of three songs "The Story.." "Cruel Fairy Tale," and "The Story…" came next on the chart, after stepping down a step due to Big Bang's high-profile return.

Accordingly, the original soundtrack to KBS' teenage idol drama "Dream High" was also pushed back a notch from the previous week to land on third place.

The album features the main theme song to the drama also titled "Dream High," "My Valentine (feat. Park Jin-young)" by Taecyeon (2PM), "Someday" by IU, "Maybe" by Sun (Wonder Girls) and "Winter Child" by Suzy (miss A).

Apparently she is a Chinese American singer originated from Chicago, USA .

Born of a chinese father and a american mother,she's taken China by storm with her first mandarin single.

Considered to be the Lindsey Lohan look-a-like in China, which to me is totally off ,since she is sooo much prettier than Lindsey Lohan. 

From afar Chloe actually looks alot like Yuna Ito.

If you're a chinese speaker, you can probably tell that her mandarin still needs alot of pratice but I'm pretty sure it'll improve over time.
