does anyone know how to fix a broken zipper?

on a pair of shorts...

sorry if this shouldn't be posted in here D: i couldn't find anything that said i couldn't ask this x_x

but, i was wondering if anybody skilled in sewing and such, would anybody know how to fix this broken zipper?

so, as you can see from the picture, the zipper is just completely off the track on one side. it's on perfectly on the other side though

am i supposed to just force it onto the other side? i've tried to and it just doesnt go in D:

looks like you've to remove the whole zipper and sew a new one
