Kim Soo Hyun spends his birthday on the set of 'You Who Came From the Stars'

Kim Soo Hyun turns 27 (26 in international age) on February 16 and celebrated his birthday on the set of his drama 'You Who Came From the Stars'!

A Key East Entertainment rep told Star News on the 15th, "Although Kim Soo Hyun is spending his birthday with the staff and cast on set, he was always happy throughout... He is putting his all into filming with joy each moment."

Kim Soo Hyun has been a busy bee as one of the top actors in K-drama land so it's no surprise that this is his fourth consecutive birthday spent while filming. Kim Soo Hyun celebrated his birthday on the set of 'Dream High' in 2011, 'The Moon that Embraces the Sun' in 2012, 'Secretly and Greatly' ('Covertness') in 2013, and now 'You Who Came From the Stars', all of which became hit productions.

'You Who Came From the Stars' received a one-episode extension and is set to air its finale on the 27th.

Korean heart-throb visits Kingdom fans

Fans of Kim Soo Hyun should mark their calendars. The hottest actor from You Who Came From The Stars will be flying in to Thailand to meet his fans late next month.



The “2014 Kim Soo Hyun Asia Tour 1st Memories in Thailand” is expected to be a memorable night for all girls who have been glued to the TV series as they can get up close and personal with the South Korean actor who promises to show off his singing and dancing talents.

Thailand is one of the six Asian countries the 25-year-old heart-throb will be touring. Starting off with support role in several TV dramas since 2007, Kim skyrocketed to popularity with his lead role in the romantic comedy Dream High in 2011. He also starred in the multi-award-winning historical series, Moon Embracing The Sun, in 2012 after which he has set a new record for product endorsements.

Even though he has no K-pop experience, he studied song and dance for three months at JYP Entertainment. Kim will perform at Royal Paragon Hall 2, Siam Paragon, on March 30 from 5pm to 7pm.

South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun’s popularity has soared across Asia, following the success of drama You Who Came From The Stars which is currently airing in Korea. Word has it that the 25-year-old is being highly sought after to take part in a new Chinese film called Summer’s Desire, which will be directed by Hong Kong movie star Carina Lau.

According to media reports, Hong Kong company Filmko Entertainment is currently in talks with both artistes and if the plans come into fruition, it would be Soo Hyun’s first venture into the Chinese film industry and Carina’s maiden directorial work.

Reports also stated that Soo Hyun’s company is keen to explore the Chinese market and that the Moon That Embraces The Sun star is very interested to act in a Chinese film, should the script be suitable. 

Carina, who is currently in London, responded to the rumours during a phone interview with Hong Kong reporters yesterday. “I have been thinking of filming a movie in my own perspective,” she said.

The actress also revealed that she has read the novel, which the movie would be based on, and found the storyline to be “pretty interesting”. However, Carina is still considering taking up the offer as she is preoccupied with other assignments.

In addition, Chinese-Canadian actor Shawn Dou and Chinese starlet Zhang Yu Xi will also reportedly be cast in the movie.

As for articles that say he is arrogant. I think he has the right to be. Afterall he is young and you tend to believe what media and adults tell you, so fame easily gets into the heads of young bright stars. But I believe after that time, with so many rumors and criticisms, he has checked himself, and toned down a lot. Now he is just being careful and handling things as professional as possible.
