Song Joong Ki is making more than Lee Min Ho and Kim Soo Hyun combined in China?

The China Internet Information Center (CIIC) recently revealed the unbelievable amount of profits Song Joong Ki rakes in from endorsement deals. 

The Center stated that the amount Song Joong Ki reaps from all his endorsement deals in China equals 2.8 billion KRW (~$2.46 million USD), based on a six-month period. The Center attributed Song Joong Ki's huge success in China to 'Descendants of the Sun,' saying, "Song Joong Ki, who is all the rage now in Asia thanks to 'Descendants of the Sun,' is rising in value. In China, the price for his endorsements skyrocketed. In half a year, he makes 16 million Yuan, which is higher than what Lee Min Ho and Kim Soo Hyun makes combined. Currently, around 10 advertising agencies are sending him various offers." 

Song Joong Ki's agency Blossom Entertainment informed Sports Chosun, "There are many articles making a guesswork on Song Joong Ki's pay but we can't give you the exact amount. But it is true that he is receiving many offers from global brands both domestically and internationally."

Song Joong-ki to pair up with Zhang Ziyi for his first China ad

It is no secret that Song Joong-ki has landed some of the most lucrative endorsement deals for ads in both China and Korea due to his recent role in KBS2 landmark drama “Descendants of the Sun.”

Chinese industry associates are saying that Song’s contract with Chinese cosmetic brand Proya is estimated to be a two-year deal worth 4 billion won ($3.5 million). This tops past celebrity endorsements with other A-list hallyu stars such as Kim Soo-hyun and Lee Min-ho.

An insider also said that Song was able to pen the record-breaking deal due to the fact he had already completed his mandatory military service this May.

Chinese actress Zhang Yuqi expressed her excitement over meeting the star of KBS2 TV drama “Descendants of the Sun,” Song Joong-ki, by posting a selfie of her with Song via Weibo on Thursday.

Song recently filmed an episode of Chinese variety show “Hurry Up Brother” -- a special collaboration shoot with the cast of SBS’ hit series “Running Man” in Seoul -- and the two stars were able to interact on the set.

Zhang’s comment next to the photo read, “OMG” -- an abbreviation for the expression “oh my God.”

The details on the episode with Song Joong-ki are still under wraps.

Actor Song Joong-ki to join popular Chinese show

SEOUL, April 22 (Yonhap) -- Song Joong-ki, star of the mega-hit South Korean TV series "Descendants of the Sun," will appear in a top Chinese television entertainment show next month, his agency said Friday.

Song will be on "Happy Camp," a high-rated variety show on Hunan TV, a provincial satellite television channel, from May 10-12, Blossom Entertainment said.

The broadcasting station released the information on its SNS accounts along with a photo of Song.

Debuting in July 1997, Happy Camp is now China's most popular show, with a viewership of tens of millions. The show is aired every Saturday.

Song shot to Asianwide fame for his role as Army Capt. Yoo Si-jin, who falls for a female surgeon, Kang Mo-yeon (Song Hye-kyo), in a fictional war-torn country where he is part of South Korea's peacekeeping force.

The popular actor Song Joong Ki is making an astounding huge amount he earns in China. Lately, a Chinese news media outlet revealed, “Song Joong Ki’s commercial six-month earnings from China is 16 million yuan (approximately $2.5 million).”

The news site then added, “Song Joong Ki’s commercial worth is rising due to the popularity of ‘Descendants of the Sun‘ in Asia. China’s commercial fees [for him] have risen sharply.” They further unveiled that his overwhelming six-month earnings have greatly overtaken that of popular actors Lee Min Ho and Kim Soo Hyun. It is true that [he] is receiving love calls from global ads as well as CFs for domestic brands.” Song Joong Ki is currently the endorser for Dongwon F&B, Jeju Airlines, LG Household and Health Care, Hite Jinro, Forencos, and more.

Fashion magazine releases photos of Song Joong-ki in bed

Fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar Korea released extra photos from actor Song Joong-ki's spread for the May issue on Wednesday.

The actor posed for the camera bare-chested while wrapped in clean white sheets.

Another photo of Song portrayed him staring into the camera between a door crack, lending a surreal vibe with his stare.

The crew of the magazine complimented Song on his professionalism. "We tried our best to avoid the paparazzi and fans. We had fun on set because of Song's professional attitude and leadership."

Song recently starred as they witty Army Capt. Yoo Si-jin in KBS2 hit TV drama, "Descendants of the Sun."
