Jo Seung Woo And Lee Byung Hun Cast Together?

Actor Jo Seung Woo (34 years old) and Lee Byung Hun (44 years old) will be in the movie "Insiders" (director Woo Min Ho) and collaborating.

According to the distributor Showbox on June 4th, Jo Seung Woo and Lee Byung Hun have been confirmed as protagonists in the movie "Insiders." "Insiders" is a movie with the original webtoon piece writer Yoon Tae Ho's piece as the inspiring piece.  The movie is grounded in our society and reports on the most deepest sides of our society and the corruption of that needs to be reported.
In the movie, Jo Seung Woo plays the role of prosecutor Woo Jang Hoon who is the main character of a corrupt politican.  Lee Byung Hun is the role of a political gang member Ahn Sang Goo.
At the meeting between two great actors, netizens have been showing great expectations from the get go. Netizens said, "Jo Seung Woo is the prosecutor, Lee Byung Hun is the gang so how new."  "I'm so crusiou about the content and I want to looka t this." "Jo Seung Woo's movie is something that I haven't seen in a while." "I look forward to this" and showed resposnes.
The movie will be cranking in this summer with the goal to be released next year.

A Double Win for LEE Byung-hun from APSAMASQUERADE Wins Lee Best Actor for the King and the Acrobat by June KIM KOBIZ

The Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA), established in 2008, celebrates excellence in film in Asia Pacific region. Prolific films and individuals are selected every year to be recognized for their work. The award categories include Best Feature Film, Best Animated Feature Film, Best Children’s Feature Film, Best Documentary Feature film, Achievement in Directing, Best Screenplay, Achievement in Cinematography, Best Performance by an Actress, Best Performance by an Actor, and Screen International Jury Grand Prize. 
The last APSA took place in Brisbane City Hall at the end of last year on December 12th, but due to filming schedule, LEE Byung-Hun was not able to attend the ceremony. Producer of Masquerade (2012), WON Dong-yeon attended in his place and LEE was awarded for the Best Performance by an Actor category.
LEE was honored with the award this month at the Australian Embassy in Seoul by International Jury member Kim Tae-yong with APSA Chairman Michael Hawkins.
“Lee Byung-hun has received this award – his first APSA win – for his two starring roles, as a king and acrobat, in Masquerade,” said Hawkins. “Over the past seven years, more than 100 Korean films have competed at APSA, winning 14 individual awards.”
Also for the handover at the Australian Embassy, APSA Academy members LEE Choon-yun, KIM Dong-ho, and KIM Hong-joon were in attendance.
The 8th Asia Pacific Screen Awards will be held on Thursday 11 December this year will be presented by Treasury Casino & Hotel and will be held in Brisbane’s City Hall.

THE INSIDERS Confirm LEE Byung-hun and CHO Seung-wooAnother YOON Tae-ho’s Webtoon-based Film Following MOSS by TAE Sang-joon KOBIZ


CHO Seung-woo (Tazza: The High Rollers, 2006) has been confirmed to star in The Insiders, said Showbox/Mediaplex Inc. on June 6th. CHO will be cast as a public prosecutor who works against corrupt politicians.
Director of Man of Vendetta (2010) WOO Min-ho will be taking the speakerphone for The Insiders which is based on a webtoon by YOON Tae-ho. The work will dissect the corruption within Korean society.
CHO will play the heroic public prosecutor named WOO Jang-hoon who will fight against the politicians who demand law to be bent for their benefit. CHO has received critical acclaim not only through film and TV series, but also from the world of musicals. It is his first feature in two years following The Peachtree (2012). A gang member with political power, AHN Sang-goo, will be played by LEE Byung-hun. The chemistry between the two actors is highly anticipated. The Insiders will crank in during this summer and will release in theatres early 2015.

Wheesung Imitates Drunk Ryu Seung Bum On 'Weekly Idol'

Singer Wheesung showed his relationship with actors Lee Byung Hun and Ryu Seung Bum.
In a recent filming of Weekly Idol, Wheesung told a story of his recent invite to Lee Byung Hun's house.
Wheesung said Lee Byung Hun has been a fan of his songs, and with the invite to his house, Wheesung grew close with other actors such as Ryu Seung Bum naturally.
Wheesung said Ryu Seung Bum talks philosophically when he is drinking. He even imitated drunk Ryu. MC Jung Hyun Don responded saying, "Wow you guys must be close," and showed jealousy toward Wheesung.
This episode of Weekly Idol will air on June 11 at 6 p.m KST.

Lee Byung Hun Receives ′Culture Diplomacy Award′ from Asia Society
Mwave Newsen Jung Ji Won  Translation Credit : Yeawon Jung Lee Byung Hun won the ‘Culture Diplomacy Award’ at Asia Society’s Korea Center Global Board of Directors VIP banquet on June 11.
Asia Society is a non-profit non-partisan organization established in 1956 by John D. Rockefeller III and it strives to build awareness of Asian politics, business, education, arts and culture through education to foster understanding and strengthen relationships between individuals and leadership in organizations.
Asia Society selects global leaders in each field annually in recognition of their achievement and the ‘Culture Diplomacy Award’ that Lee Byung Hun received this year has been previously given to Jet Li, Halle Berry, David Henry Hwang, Alice Waters and Ryu Hyun Jin.


The banquet that took place on June 11 was attended by Asia Society’s members of board of directors, such as Ronnie Chen, Henrietta H. Fore and more.
Upon receiving the award, Lee Byung Hun said, “I will do my best to show the best performances as an actor and contribute to spread knowledge about Korea as a Korean actor.”
Meanwhile, Lee Byung Hun will start filming The Insiders in July.

Both articles didn't actually say where the event took place unless my eyes missed them (unfortunately my eyesight are not that good these days, making a lot of typos). Presumably it was in Seoul and probably explains that it was a private event with only BH Entertainment providing the only photo, so far. Looks like BH is back in Seoul, right. His Terminator schedule had probably been eased up a lot and he's able to return home, have a break and prepare for the new movie in July.
And July is our special month, too.

LEE BYUNGHUN RECEIVES “CULTURE DIPLOMACY AWARD” FROM ASIA SOCIETY

Actor Lee Byunghun has been given the Culture Diplomacy Award at the Asia Society Korea Center Global Event on the 11th of June.
Asia Society is a non-profit organization that aims to share information about Asia and educate the world about Asia.
Every year, Asia Society chooses a global leader in several different categories, in which Lee Byunghun received the Culture Diplomacy Award for this year, thus joining Halle Berry, Jet Li, David Henry Hwang, President Barack Obama and Ryu Hyunjin.
Lee Byunghun received this award for promoting Korea’s stand in entertainment, especially after debuting in Hollywood as a Korean actor and thus promoting Korea as a whole.
Lee Byunghun has starred in several Hollywood blockbuster films such as “G.I Joe” and “Red 2”, and has recently finished filming for “Terminator: Genesis” with Arnold Schwarzenegger, due to be released in 2015.
In July, Lee Byunghun will be coming back to Korea to film for the Korean film, “The Insiders”.
