rubie
June 18, 2008 OLD BOY Fight Choreographer Dies On Set Of THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE WEIRD Posted by Todd Brown at 8:16am That this happened at all is truly tragic. That superstition is keeping people from talking about it in public seems to me a great injustice. You probably don’t know Ji Jung-Hyeon’s name but if you are at all a fan of Korean action film then you definitely know his work. The veteran stunt man and action choreographer has played a significant role in a number of recent Korean hits, ranging from A Bittersweet Life to Musa to The Restless and had a growing international reputation, as his work on Mongol would indicate. But his best known work will always be the famous hammer fight sequence in Park Chan Wook’s Old Boy, a fight which Ji choreographed. And I say that will always be his best known work because he will never have the chance to top it. Ji was killed when his car was struck by a lumber truck while working as the assistant action director on Kim Ji-Woon’s The Good, The Bad And The Weird. That’s the tragic part. The travesty is that nobody attached to Kim’s film or in the Korean media is saying much of anything about it at all for fear of bringing bad luck down upon the production. The only reason we know about it is because new Korean documentary Action Boys - a film by Korean stunt men about Korean stunt men, soon to debut at the New York Asian Film Festival - pays a tribute to him and his career. A shame on many levels ... Source: twitchfilm.net subwaycinemanews.com New York Asian Film Festival http://www.subwaycinema.com/ rubie -- Reading the article at first, makes one feels bad. The accident did happen.. I actually knew (but didn't remember) about the accident.. it was mentioned at Jung Doo Hong's thread, a martial arts expert & stunt director who's involved in the 3 movies. The JDH threadmistress, Kseniya.. an ardent Russian fan of Mr. Jung had the first news of the accident because the late stuntman was one of JDH's team and his best friend. JDH was devastated to say the least but the production moved ahead the way it should be. It didn't occur to me that it happened while he was working for GBW (maybe not related to the scenes) but that's the irony of life.. accidents happen to everyone even the most experienced when we don't expect & certainly never wish for the mishap. Not saying much about the accident.. doesn't mean that the production had forgotten about what happened. We wouldn't know if things have been settled, compensation given & a special tribute. These things might already have planned but never publicized.
rubie
lets believe that, the production company is the professional.. they know how ! dun be worry dear.. its not surprised to see some familar lurking arround but not stopping by.. see, many attractive n sedusive men around... and also many new project to come up too or our BADDIE scared them, ahhahha **kidding** Maybe The BAD scared you too? rubie
Prelude to BH's Birthday Why did you take the role of Chang-I in 'The Good, The Bad, The Weird'? Isn’t it your first villain role? Were you concerned about being portrayed as a villain? One day I thought I had been too careful why was I so careful in my choice of role even though I was still young? I should have been learning by trial and error so I thought it’s not too late to change. I wanted to open myself up wide. The character Ching-I in 'The Good, The Bad, The Weird' was the first villain I have played in my 17 years as an actor. However, it is interesting that, coincidently, SOO Pong-po in 'I Come with the Rain' is also a villain and Storm shadow in 'G.I. Joe' is also a villain, at least superficially Spotlight on Lee Byung Hun Between Reason & Sensibility; Between Beauty & Evil. What bothered me at the time was that the movie would be made for all viewers, regardless of age and gender. However as I have said before, I thought it would be better to regret dong it after trying, rather than regret not trying, and my acquaintances advised me to do it. Everyone knows that. i totally do not understand why it caused the trouble to the airing. We are very sorry and regret to hear about his tragic dead but the production is complete, right? why it found any trouble?? i dun understand! !! Firstly, the late stuntman is not someone unknown in the movie industry, looking at his impressive profile. The production may have their reason for not making a big news about the accident but .. to non-Koreans or non-fans, etc.. it's not a really nice update to read happening in the highly-anticipated production. People might make an issue out of it. No one wants accidents to happen.. no one.. but .. the article.. (without us understanding the real situation) might coerce readers to think that the production is to blame for the accident (by keeping quiet).. which we don't even know if it had happened while scenes were being filmed. Hello kitty00j, welcome to EverythingLBH! Very happy to see you here. I've seen your posts at the IRIS thread, too. For someone who did not study abroad.. LBH speaks very good and clear English, he's also very good in conversational English.. often used at international fests, short speech and various projects. LBH has two upcoming movies in full English.. namely 'I Come With The Rain' to be released around October 2008 and GI Joe, in August 2009. This is a short clip of LBH answering in English at the Fendi Party after the 58th Cannes filmfest 2005 (thanks to f32000 and Celina) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goQ28teN9tk We can't wait for IRIS to start rolling as well. Personally, I don't mind anyone pairing with him because LBH is really a good actor who can adapt to any co-star and make them at ease & vice-versa. I think Sung Yuri is really beautiful and she has really improved her acting ability, too. There's always the first time. As of now.. no one has any idea on the production nor the cast. There have been some speculation but who knows that the final cast will be a surprise to all. Let's hope for the best, huh!

rubie
July releases: GBW vs Sunny (Soo Ae) vs An Eye for An Eye --- 7월 극장가 놈-님-눈이 살릴까? Source: http://www.newsen.com/news_view.php?uid=200806191643181003
