Actor Jo In-Seong and Ko Joon-hee have been chosen as models for a Soju brand.

Lotte revealed that they will start being active as Soju models in June.

If Lotte focused on 'shaking' the Soju with various dancing singers, this time, it is going to emphasize on 'soft' Soju with sophisticated top stars Jo In-Seong and Ko Joon-hee.

Meanwhile, Jo In-Seong and Ko Joon-hee will film a video in mid June and will be active in commercials, posters POP ads and more for a year.

Thanks for all the updates. Wow the guy is certainly going places.
I thought the collaboration with Go Joon-hee interesting, since he called her personally and praised her as interesting in the We Got Married show. Now she finally gets to work with the man himself :D

By Korea Star Daily | KpopFighting.com

Go Joon Hee, Zo In Sung

Actor Zo In Sung and actress Go Joon Hee have become the new endorsers for Chum-Churum soju from Lotte Liquor.

Lotte Liquor expressed, “We have decided on actor Zo In Sung and actress Go Joon Hee to be the new endorsers for Chum-Churum soju. The two will begin promotions in June. We have previously used singers who have great dancing abilities to endorse our soju, but we have decided to go in another direction this time by stressing on the gentle theme of ‘Like the First Time’. Thus we have decided on Zo In Sung and Go Joon Hee as they fit in best with the concept that we are going for this time.”

Zo In Sung starred in SBS TV drama ‘That Winter, The Wind Blows’ which ended its run earlier this year, where he impressed in his steely role of Oh Soo, and won much love from viewers. Go Joon Hee who is highly active in the drama and variety fields, will now leap to the tier of top female celebrities who have endorsed soju in the past with this new CF deal, and become the newest blue chip in the advertising world.

Zo In Sung and Go Joon Hee will begin filming for their CF in mid-June, and will also participate in a variety of television shoot, poster shoot, POP advertisements, and other activities throughout the course of their 1 year endorsement deal.

Jo In Sung and Go Jun Hee Drink Soju Together

Actors Jo In Sung and Go Jun Hee team up to endorse a brand of soju, undoubtedly one of the most, if not, the most popular Korean drink. According to reports in local news agencies, Lotte Liquor has signed up the two good-looking thespians to model for their brand.

“We are pleased to announce that Jo In Sung and Go Jun Hee are cast to be the final selection of Lotte Liquor to represent the brand in its first entry into mainstream advertising,” a statement from the company said, as quoted in local news agencies. “Please expect them in full-fledged promotional activities in June.”

Focusing on the “Shaker Soju,” Jo In Sung and Go Jun Hee shot a campaign for Lotte Liquor. Reports further said the choice of the two former models-turned-actors is to emphasize the properties of the product through building up a soft and stylish image for the brand.

“Jo In Sung, who recently wrapped and gained popularity for ‘That Winter The Wind Blows’ gives off a chic style. It’s the same as the same for Go Jun Hee, who is known to be beautiful. They have both achieved success in dramas and other aspects of the entertainment industry and will be good models in our first time to go into mainstream advertising,” the statement further said.

Jo In Sung and Go Jun Hee are under contract for one year and are expected to appear in TV commercials, print ads and other promotional materials, as well as participate in marketing activities.

Go Joon-hee mentioned InSung in these articles

http://www.soompi.com/2013/06/02/jinwoon-doesnt-like-it-when-go-jun-hee-mentions-his-age/

she also mentioned Go Hyun-jung in the 2nd article. In 2006, Go Joon-hee (used her real name Kim Eun-joo at that time) appeared in TV drama What's Up Fox? (Go Hyun-jung, Chun Jung-myung); she played Go Hyun-jung's younger sister Go Joon-hee.  Later on, she used that character's name as her stage name.
Some still remember her being linked with Joo Jin-mo last year..

^ Thanks Lulu; I wasn't able to see it on my phone earlier today. Finally caught it just now. :)

These posters are from KNTV's website, I wasn't able to find one for The Classic.

I pick A Dirty Carnival as InSung's best work of his career so far.

Just read a review of recent film New World (Lee Jung-jae, Choi Min-shik, Hwang Jung-min), A Dirty Carnival was mentioned. :)
http://www.filmbiz.asia/reviews/new-world--2
"Hands down, New World 신세계 | 新世界 is the best played and most gripping Korean gangster movie since YU Ha 유하 | 庾河's A Dirty Carnival 비열한 거리 (2006), and certainly the best South Korean film since last autumn's very different Masquerade 광해 왕이 되 남자 and Pietà 피에타."

Jo In Sung and Go Jun Hee couple up as the new faces of 'Chum Churum' soju

2013-06-06 00:58:00
by starsung

Jo In Sung and Go Jun Hee have become the next top stars to be appointed the endorsement models of 'Chum Churum' ('Like the First Time') soju.

'Lotte Liquor' said, "Jo In Sung and Go Jun Hee have been cast as the endorsement models for 'Chum Churum' and will begin promotions this June," going for a different feel this time by selecting actors instead of their previous trend of choosing sexy singers or idols.

Jo In Sung and Go Jun Hee are both involved in romances of their own with Jo In Sung recently confirming his relationship with actress Kim Min Hee, while Go Jun Hee has her on-screen marriage with 2AM's Jinwoon on 'We Got Married'. But even with their respective romances, the two undeniably look good together as a couple!

Curtain rises on TV and film fests

By Xu Wei
Jun 7, 2013

THE curtain rises next week on the best foreign and domestic film and TV productions in the city's 19th Television Festival and the 16th International Film Festival.

The annual TV festival, which runs from June 10 to 14, and film fest, which run from 15 to 23, bring together filmmakers, actors, scriptwriters, producers and critics for discussions and workshops.

For fans of both the big and small screen, it is the time to spot stars, probably get their signatures, and view films that are being screened for the first time, or the only time, in the city.

Who will show up

Around 300 film celebrities and figures will show up at the opening ceremony on June 15 at Shanghai Culture Square. They include American film maker Oliver Stone, British director Tom Hooper, South Korean actor Jo In-sung, Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen and Taiwanese singer/actor Jay Chou.

Other guests include Hong Kong director Tsui Hark, film director and producer Johnnie To, mainland female director Li Shaohong and former Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Sid Ganis.

The list of Western celebrity actors is to be announced.

Viewers will be able to chat face-to-face with entertainment figures and can vote for their favorite TV series and actors at Sina.com.cn.

What to watch

During the TV festival, more than 80 recent and acclaimed shows will be screened on the Documentary Channel, Art Channel, Entertainment Channel and ICS. They include dramas, documentaries, animations and other films.

Among more than 1,000 entries, 48 productions have been nominated for the TV festival's Magnolia awards in TV film, documentary, drama and animation.

They include the mainland drama "Beijing Youths" about a group of young people and their love, friendship and coming of age.

The German nature documentary "The Green Universe" and British animation "Room on the Broom," based on a children's picture book, will be screened.

The five-day event includes the Shanghai Student Television Festival screening short videos by college students, the international film and TV marketing and animation pitch, and TV forums about challenges and opportunities in China's TV industry.

At the film festival, around 300 Chinese and foreign films will be screened. The opening film will be "Monsters University," a new 3D animated comedy produced by Pixar Animation Studios.

Films to be screened will include a range of genres.

Representative works of Olive Stone, Tom Hooper, Japanese director Yasujiro Ozu and Chinese director Tang Xiaodan will be screened. They include seven of Stone's films, including the award-winning "Platoon" (1986), "Wall Street" (1987) and "Born on the Fourth of July" (1989).

Suspense film fans can watch nine early and rarely screened silent films by British master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock.

The films have been restored and will be shown in Asia for the first time, some with live music.

All were filmed between 1925 and 1929, and demonstrate the evolution of Hitchcock's suspense style. They include his directorial debut "The Pleasure Garden," as well as "The Lodger," "The Ring," "Downhill," "The Farmer's Wife," "Easy Virtue," "Champagne," "The Manxman" and "Blackmail."

"Blackmail" was later re-shot by Hitchcock to include some snippets of dialogue.

It was the first sound film screened in the UK.

Additionally, nine films starring the late Hong Kong actor Leslie Cheung will be shown, including "Farewell, My Concubine," "Days of Being Wild" and "Rouge."

Acclaimed works to be screened include Kim Ki-duk's "Pieta," last year's Golden Lion winner, the Bertolucci film "Me and You," independent British thriller "Berberian Sound Studio," and India's Oscar-nominated film "Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India."

The recent films are from Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Thailand and other countries.

Where to watch

A total of 26 cinemas across the town will screen festival films.

The main venue of the film festival is at the Shanghai Film Art Center, 160 Xinhua Road.

Where to buy tickets

Ticket sales begin tomorrow at theaters, www.ticket2010.com and www.gewara.com. Tickets for each screening will be priced between 40 yuan (US$6.45) and 60 yuan. All will be screened in their original language with English and Chinese subtitles.

Information about the cinemas and screening schedules are available on www.siff.com (English service is available).

Judging from past festivals, tickets for some popular films always sell out quickly. So make sure to book early.

About the awards

The Golden Goblet (Jin Jue) Awards will be handed out on the last day.

Fourteen films have been selected from 1,655 movies from 112 countries and regions. They will compete in various categories for a Golden Goblet.

Nominated films include Canadian director Lenin Sivam's "A Gun & A Ring," Russian filmmaker Yury Bykov's "The Major" and South Korean director Kang Woo-suk's "Fists of Legend."

Three Chinese productions - "Amazing" by Sherwood Hu, "Unbeatable" by Dante Lam and "The Stolen Years" by Barbara Wong - will vie for the top prize.

The festival will include an Asian New Talent Award, a smartphone film festival and short film exhibition that recognize the power of new media.

About the jury

The film festival jury includes famous Chinese director Zhang Li; local scriptwriter Wang Liping; Yves Jeanneau, founder of France's Sunny Side of the Doc; and animation series producer Wong Kok-cheong from Singapore.

Oliver Stone, who judged the Golden Goblet Awards in 1993 at the first Shanghai International Film Festival, will receive an outstanding achievement award.

The 67-year-old director will take part in a master class and share his experience with Chinese directors.

The president of the seven-member judging panel will be Tom Hooper, British director of "The King's Speech."

Do you watch other Korean films without InSung in it?
The article above's from December 2011. 'Nameless Gangster' (2012; Choi Min-shik, Ha Jung-woo) and 'New World' (2013) are good too.

Shanghai Television Festival Foreign Drama Winners Revealed

Cr: sina.com

Translation: luluwannagohome@soompi.com

On the 5th, The 19th Shanghai Television Festival revealed its Foreign Drama Grand Prize winning list. The gold award was taken by American drama series ‘Homeland’, which have won best TV series drama in both 64th Emmy and 70th Golden Globes. Meanwhile, top-rated Korean drama ‘That Winter, The Wind Blows’ took home the silver award.

Being the earliest established international television festival in the country, Shanghai Television Festival (STF in short) has been carrying the motto of celebrating the excellence and supporting the innovation when judging for its Magnolia Award. In recent years, it starts to collaborate with other international television festivals in order to enhance cultural communications and collaborations and to act as a moving force for Chinese dramas going overseas. Since 2008, STF has started a collaborative system with Tokyo International Drama Festival and Seoul International Drama Awards, setting up ‘Foreign Drama Special Award’ and continuously promoting Chinese dramas overseas and come back home with awards.

There were overwhelming responses regarding application back in the admission phase this year, including ‘Homeland’ and ‘That Winter, The Wind Blows’. ‘Homeland’ is starring Damian Lewis and Claire Danes and created by famous screenplay writer Alex Gansa. Actors Davis Harewood and Navid Negahban from the series will visit Shanghai during the festival and share their memories of the drama with fans. Korean melodrama ‘That Winter, The Wind Blows’ is starring Jo In Sung and Song Hye Kyo. It’s their returning work to the small screen after both put their career emphasis on movies. The drama toped the rating for eight consecutive weeks when broadcasted in Korea, becoming the monumental masterpiece for Korean dramas this year. It’s worth mentioning that Jo In Sung, the lead actor who played Oh Soo in the drama will personally visit Shanghai during the festival, providing opportunities for his fans to enjoy this brilliant actor’s handsomeness.

‘Homeland’ and ‘That Winter, The Wind Blows’ winning the awards does not only deepen the understanding between Asian and Western television industries, but also generates the interests for more foreign dramas from global audience. Full media era has arrived and it is imperative to have more global cooperation and collaborations. Foreign Drama Grand Prize serves as a solid foundation for more collaborated production and marketing.

[spotlight] Jo In Sung Makes the Singaporean Media Laugh With His Bubbly Personality

For the first time ever, members of the media were greeted with claps and welcome cheers as we entered the function room to meet Jo In Sung, who was in Singapore on May 22 to promote “That Winter, the Wind Blows.” The gesture certainly made us feel like we were the guests of honor! At the front of the room was Jo In Sung, dressed smartly in a blue shirt and pants, paired with red sneakers, and smiling as the media staff took their seats. The session started with a photo call and a group photo with the media.

Jo_In_Sung_Singapore_20130522_2727.jpg

Even after two hours into the press conference, Jo In Sung showed no sign of weariness, and instead looked very relaxed, playful, and amicable as he slouched comfortably in his armchair.

Jo In Sung, who was in Malaysia the day before, said he was expecting only 13 fans to show up at the Malaysian fan meeting and was very surprised when 5,000 showed up to support him. He said it was a great gift from the fans, citing it as the biggest fan-meeting turnout in his whole career.

Jo_In_Sung_Singapore_20130522_2725.jpg

What made Jo In Sung choose this drama after coming back from military service?

The actor said, “There was no reason not to select this piece. I was working with a good writer and director, a beautiful actress, good looking co-stars, and senior actors and actresses.”

Was Jo In Sung satisfied with his performance in it?

He replied, “Looking back now, I could have done better.”

The actor was also asked to rate himself and he took a long time to consider before humbly giving himself a 7 and hesitantly added a 0.5 to it, drawing laughter from the media. By this time, I couldn’t help gushing about this long-legged actor to my photographer-partner @aprilliax.

When asked about the most painful feeling or moment of Oh Soo that was unforgettable for him (a question from Soompier @park_shindae), Jo In Sung said “The life of Oh Soo was very sorrowful and tough from the beginning, born with a lot of sadness. At birth, he was separated from his mother, and the love of his life died from a car accident. Most people grew up being loved by their parents and people around us but Oh Soo was not loved from the beginning. Getting into character every time was very difficult for me, but through Oh Young, Oh Soo started learning what love is.”

Jo_In_Sung_Singapore_20130522_6984-540x3

Jo In Sung was then asked to describe himself in three words. I was looking forward to hearing him say something about his personality but the cheeky actor answered with a straight face “Jo, In, Sung,” again making all of us laugh!

Does he prefer kissing a comedian like Park Kyung Lim (in ”Nonstop 2″) or beautiful actress Song Hye Kyo?

Jo In Sung replied, “Kissing a comedian or beautiful actress doesn’t matter because it is a character that is kissing – there is no emphasis on the kiss. The public was able to enjoy the kiss scene in ‘Nonstop’ and it was quite popular. Also, working with Kyung Lim noona was the least stressful work experience. If there is a really good opportunity to do a sitcom, I could do a really good job! Sitcoms are dying out in Korea these days. I wish more sitcoms would come out and give laughter to people who are having a hard time.”

Jo_In_Sung_Singapore_20130522_ALV9460ONE

What are the similarities between Jo In Sung and Oh Soo?

Jo In Sung said, “Oh Soo’s character in a way came out of my own character so we share a common bond. Sometimes Oh Soo brings out more laughter and fun and that is how I am. The difference is that I don’t con people.”

Fans of the drama “That Winter, the Wind Blows” must be curious if Oh Soo really died in the end.

Jo In Sung replied, “I received this question quite often from the Korean press. Oh Soo is alive and next to Oh Young and they live happily ever after.”

Many actors are participating in original soundtracks these days, but Jo In Sung has no plans to do so even though he loves music. He joked, “My fans would probably leave me if I start singing.” Awww, I’m sure some vocal training wouldn’t hurt, right?

Jo_In_Sung_Singapore_20130522_ALV9630ONE

If Jo In Sung could change one thing about the Korean entertainment industry, what would it be?

He replied, “I hadn’t thought about anything specifically that I would like to change but I wish co-workers could respect each other more and take care of each other more.”

Jo In Sung is great at doing sad emotional scenes – what does it take to portray them?

He responded, “It is very difficult and we get very exhausted after crying. Given that I have to cry 5 or 6 times, it is very difficult but when I’m focused on Song Hye Kyo, it’s very easy to bring out the emotions. Song Hye Kyo is able to bring out the tears. She is one of the best emotional actresses in Korea, so we are drawn up by the emotions of the person opposite us. Thanks to Song Hye Kyo.”

Jo In Sung explained that the kissing while crying scene in episode 16 was also the most challenging, saying, “For both of us, it was very difficult to prepare the emotions and make the scene look good.”

Jo_In_Sung_Singapore_20130522_2755-540x3

When exactly did Oh Soo fall in love with Oh Young? Many friends of the media were surprised by the revelation as it happened early in episode two (three to be more precise). “There was a narration by Oh Soo when the hug took place at the train platform. Through Oh Young, Oh Soo was able to see himself. That’s when the love started.”

Female fans, know what to wear if you get to meet Jo In Sung in person — his favorite style is “a girl that looks good in jeans.”

Thanks to Channel ONE for inviting Soompi to the media conference.
