It seems that viewers are liking the dirty, roughed-up version of JYJ‘s Kim Jaejoong in “Triangle” as the MBC Monday-Tuesday drama ranked first place in the ratings game last week. The singer-actor also received good comments for his acting in show after the airing of the episodes.

 ”I can’t take my eyes off Kim Jaejoong’s shocking acting on television,” was what most people in various online communities and SNS said regarding the drama.

In the first two episodes of “Triangle” aired last week, Kim Jaejoong showed a shocking portrayal of a gangster and proving that the singer-actor isn’t afraid to get hurt and dirty for a scene as long as it helps the material.

In the previous episodes, Kim Jaejoong’s character, Heo Young Dal, had scenes wherein he caused a great disturbance at a meat restaurant when he started removing his clothes and later blackmailed Ahn Joo In (Kim Hye Eun). He also had a reckless kissing scene with Ahn Joo In later at a motel. When gangsters found where he was, they chased him around town while he was wearing only his boxers, and later, he got all muddied up.

“Kim Jaejoong personally really tried very hard. He even thought of throwing himself like what was seen on the show. He absorbed the character of Heo Young Dal so much that he perfectly portrayed the character in the show,” said a representative from Taewon Entertainment, the producer of the show.

With Heo Young Dal as the focus, and together with older brother Jang Dong Soo (Lee Bum Soo) and younger brother Yoon Yang Ha (Im Siwan), “Triangle” tells the story of the fateful meeting of the three brothers. Last week, the show ranked number one among the shows in the same time slot and is expected to continue in the following episodes.

Triangle Episode 3 Review: Baek Jin Hee is Not Fond of Living with Kim Jae Joong

In Triangle, episode 3, Oh Jung Hee(played by Baek Jin Hee) was not fond of living with Huh Young Dal(played by Kim Jae Joong).

Young Dal rented a room at Jung Hee’s grandmother’s house. When Jung Hee came home from work, she saw Young Dal and thought he was a thief. She started hitting him and Young Dal quickly explained that he rented a room at her house.

Jung Hee was shocked and told her grandmother that she did not want him in the house but her grandmother ignored her.

Triangle Episode 3 Review: Kim Jae Joong Takes Baek Jin Hee by the Hand and Runs Away from the Casino

In Triangle, episode 3, Huh Young Dal(played by Kim Jae Joong) took Oh Jung Hee(played by Baek Jin Hee) by the hand and ran away from the casino.

Jung Hee was working as a dealer at an illegal casino. As the cops ambushed the casino, she was terrified and did not know what to do. Young Dal, who was playing a game, saw her frightened face and took her by the hand. He said, “Let’s get out of here.” Then they escaped the casino together.

  Kim Jae Joong currently plays a lead role in the new MBC drama Triangle. He has played a character who has lived a tough life and growing up as a thug, playing in casinos and living in an unfortunate life. In the recent episode, as he escaped from the men who were chasing him because of making out with somebody’s wife, he ran out on the streets shirtless and wearing only boxer shorts. After reigning over dramaland with its first two episodes, MBC’s Triangle made an unexpected fall to last.

On Monday night, Triangle recorded 7.5 percent, a 2.1 percent drop from its last episode on May 6. With Triangle out of the top spot. SBS’ Doctor Stranger naturally took over with 12.1 percent, while KBS’ Big Man also saw a rise to 9.7 percent.

Both Doctor Stranger and Big Man recorded their highest ratings received so far.
