i just read on BYJ's thread that because he's decided to attend the 2008 MBC award ceremony, tickets for the ceremony have been sold in the black market and online with insane prices :lol:

i know that BYJ is good friends with SSH, beside showing support for SSH...will he also present an award??

^ If he doesn't get the Dae Sang, it will be the greatest injustice of the year, EVER!

But if MBC decides that it will be no fun if KMM gets in every year, or that he has every chance to get in next year, or in the upcoming years, it is possible that they might give it to another actor. But still, KMM is still the one for me! XD

the actor/actress who not attend the ceremony. Can it emply that they won't the award?

Kim Myung-Min wasn't there last year (it was mentioned in last year's thread that his son was in the hospital).

Shirley (?) mentioned in 2007 thread that the last time a non-show star who won an award was Lee Eun-Joo (several years ago).

No matter how many times he won it.. Regardless of his future chances... Point is, he did extremely well in BV. It's ridiculous for them to use that reason (as if we'll ever know) to deprive him of the award he so rightly deserves.

yes Lee Eun joo wasnt around during the award because she went off for a holiday after completing Bool Sae . she won for Bool Sae in 2004

of course since MBC gave out two winners for each award . so it doesnt look empty .i think it was that year when MBC started to give out two winners for all category (in 2003 , it wasnt like that ) and since then it hadnt change .

i think it is riduclous to have two winners for all categories as in a norm . it should be an exception , but hey this is MBC game .they do what they want .oh ya i just have to see if they keep that GOLDEN ACTING AWARD they created last year .(when i like go huh what the hell is that for ) ..

some articles on MBC while waiting...

MBC's Slow Suicide

MBC’s “News Desk” aired four separate reports on Sunday on the newspaper and broadcast reform bill proposed by the ruling party. Starting with one on the dispute between the ruling and opposition camps over the bill, the “in-depth reports” also featured demands being made by leftwing groups calling on the government to scrap the bill, followed by an MBC editorial that the proposed changes could damage the independence and objectivity of news coverage. On its investigative news program, “Current Affairs Magazine 2580,” which followed the main evening news, MBC devoted more than 10 minutes to covering the same topic. On Saturday, “News Desk” broadcast an “in-depth analysis” segment on a strike underway among members of the National Union of Media Workers and a segment on the criticism faced by the reform bill. MBC has become a propaganda station promoting the vested interests of the terrestrial networks rather than a news organization that objectively and fairly conveys the latest developments in society.

The Civil Coalition for Fairness in Media said out of the 16 broadcast segments aired on “News Desk” between Dec. 3 and 24, 12 featured the position of the Democratic Party in their headlines while not a single one represented the position of the ruling Grand National Party. The DP was either cited or interviewed 27 times and the GNP just nine times. The comments by the news anchors merely publicized the fairness of the strike by MBC unionists.

Unionized workers at MBC have been striking since last Friday to voice their opposition against the changes to the media-related laws, as part of a larger strike by the broadcast union. But in an interview with one news media organization, the anchor of MBC “News Desk,” who is an executive-level employee at the broadcaster, said that during a strike that happened during the 1990s, striking workers and senior staff were at odds, but that there was a mutual understanding this time. He added that the present strike reflected the views of all MBC news staff that they were striving to improve things. In other words, they do not care about the rights of viewers.

Still, as far as the viewing public is concerned, the strike is no great inconvenience. Staff may be publicizing the legitimacy of the company’s vested interests, but the only thing viewers have to do is change the channel. MBC will see its ratings drop. If that drags on for two or three more months, then most of the public will forget that there is a station called MBC on the public airwaves. Already audiences for “News Desk” have dropped to half the level of rival KBS’ “News 9” since MBC’s “PD Diary” broadcast distorted reports about the dangers of U.S. beef. And last month, the ratings at “News Desk” fell to third place, beaten by the 8 o’clock news at SBS. The strike at MBC is an act of suicide.

Right now, MBC is not a news organization. It is a liberation front for its unionized workers, who are still fighting the outdated ideological battle. MBC has become a lonely island inhabited by former student activists from the 1980s, who are ostracized by the wider public. There should be no public airwaves available for such an operation.

[EDITORIAL]The MBC problem

Korea has a large number of TV broadcasters of terrestrial, cable and satellite channels. When a specific network is proven to have highly politicized employees and airs politically biased programs produced by those politicized PDs and editors, viewers just shift to other channels. This is what MBC, one of the three major terrestrial networks, will soon face if its current mode of operation remains unchanged.

Unionized workers at MBC are on strike in protest against the alleged attempt of the administration and the ruling party to place the broadcasting business under their control. Their action in alliance with other unionized journalists and the main opposition Democratic Party is aiming at canceling media-related bills which seek to allow newspaper companies and conglomerates to hold shares in broadcasters and remove traditional boundaries between different sectors of information and communications.

MBC is a unique organization, which started as a private broadcaster, later ceded its controlling shares to the state-owned KBS, and then became a corporation without distinct ownership. The Broadcasting Culture Promotion Association, whose nine board members are all appointed by the Korea Communications Commission, owns 70 percent of MBC shares and a non-interfering private foundation has the remaining 30 percent. The broadcaster is funded entirely by ad revenue.

While its present ownership structure guarantees MBC a high degree of independence, there is no reliable device to ensure absolute political neutrality of its producers, reporters, editors and managers. A dangerous tilt was exposed in the coverage of U.S. beef import turmoil last summer. Present management and employees would like to maintain the broadcaster's current status. But changes are needed to accommodate developments in the broadcasting environment resulting from technological advances and to improve the quality of broadcasting through competition.

The striking members of MBC should accept that their organization cannot remain in an outdated structure. They should recognize the need for accommodating new technology to explore new markets. If the government-proposed bill does not offer the best process, they should propose alternatives rather than demanding its outright withdrawal in solidarity with the political opposition.

i wish the netizen awards voting process would be less easy

due too the fandom

hasn't it always been like this....its always people who judge by "idolness" and not by acting who mess up everything

true..
