*** tvN has released the official main poster for its upcoming mystery drama “Jirisan”! It reveals two individuals with very different intentions. Seo Yi Kang is surrounded by fiery flames. Next to her is the phrase, “The place I could never return to after that day.” Kang Hyun Jo finds himself in the midst of a wintery chill. Next to him is the phrase, “The place I could never escape after that day.” What could have happened on “that day”? We can get to find out in “Jirisan,” which will premiere October 23 at 9 p.m. KST. I hope this will do well - they are two brilliant actors working together! A perfect duo! It looks like an amazing drama. Excited for this. :twerk2:

***Twitter has revealed, which Korean dramas and films earned the most mentions over the past three years! This is for the past 3-years from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021.  Kingdom ranked #1 & Along with The Gods #12.  I’ve watched 9 of these Kdramas & 5 of the Kmovies…. They're so good! Congratulations "Kingdom & Along With The Gods" team especially to JJH! It's my recommendation to watch this drama & movie. I'm glad that  both of his projects are in the list. :sweet:

'Kingdom' most mentioned Korean drama on Twitter

optimize

By Dong Sun-hwa

Zombie thriller "Kingdom" is the most mentioned Korean drama on Twitter globally, said Kim Yeon-jeong, head of Global K-pop and K-content Partnerships at Twitter Korea.

During Friday's speech at MU:CON 2021 ― Korea's largest international music industry trade show ― Kim presented the lists of the top 20 most Tweeted Korean dramas, movies and webtoons. The data aggregation was conducted by Twitter and VAIV company, which utilized big data text mining techniques to analyze English Tweets from July 2018 to June 2021.

"Twitter has proven that K-pop ― along with many other fandoms ― thrives due to the characteristics of Twitter: live, public and conversational," Kim said. "People consume Korean content through various channels, but in the end, they have conversations on Twitter. Korean content has limitless potential, as the fandom culture that started with K-pop has taken an interest in other forms of Korean content, prompting the dissemination of Korean culture… Twitter will continue to dedicate itself in the fullest to supporting the globalization of Korean content and the fandom it empowers."

MU:CON 2021, hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), was held online from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 under the theme, "A Decade of K-pop and the Future Ahead."

*** tvN’s “Jirisan” shared a chart that explains the organization of the rangers at Mount Jiri National Park, as well as the relationships between characters.  The relationship chart begins by outlining how Mount Jiri National Park is managed. At the top are Headquarters, followed by the Mount Jiri National Park Jeonbuk Office. The Jeonbuk Office is split into two divisions: the Haedong Branch Office and the Bidam Shelter. The Haedong Branch Office is located at the bottom of the mountain and the Bidam Shelter is located at the top. The Haedong Branch Office includes top ranger Seo Yi Kang (Jun Ji Hyun), rookie ranger Kang Hyun Jo (Joo Ji Hoon). “Jirisan” premieres on October 23 and will be available on Viki. I'm really looking forward to watch this drama.

*** Jun Ji Hyun, Ju Ji Hoon, Oh Jung Se, writer Kim Eun Hee, and director Lee Eung Bok attended the presscon event. Ju Ji Hoon said during the event - “I’ve been working with Kim Eun Hee (writer) for five years now. Now, she’s like an aunt I see on holidays. Her workroom is pretty close, so I meet her quite often. Her script is really detailed. There are so many directions that I can never just skim through it. I can’t act unless I read it carefully. Sometimes, she writes difficult scenes so easily. But if I act them out, it’s like a class that helps me improve my skills. I’m having a lot of fun.”

Jirisan will premiere on October 23rd at 9 PM KST.     :rubchin:

Intense Survival-Themed Movies And Dramas To Watch After “Squid Game”

Less than a month ago, Netflix presented their most viral production to date as they released “Squid Game.” This global hit needs no introduction as it has become one of the most viewed Netflix shows since its first release on September 17, landing the No. 1 spot in over 90 countries and on its way to becoming the streaming service’s most watched TV show of all time. For some viewers, this is the first Korean work they have ever watched, and naturally, they would be eager to watch more Korean productions that deliver that same adrenaline rush the nine-episode drama had provided them with.

Whether you have time to binge-watch an entire show or are simply looking for a quick watch, we’ve got you covered. Here are some survival-themed movies and dramas that will keep you on the edge of your seats. Happy (and intense) viewing!

2. “Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds”

Just when you think your suffering has ended with your death, the Divine has a different plan for you. Kim Ja Hong, played by Cha Tae Hyun, is a firefighter who lost his life in the line of duty. Gang Rim (Ha Jung Woo), Hae Won Maek (Joo Ji Hoon), and Lee Deok Choon (Kim Hyang Gi) are three guardians who escort him to the afterlife. There is only one catch: he needs to pass a series of trials to prove his worthiness and escape eternal damnation.

The actors did their characters justice as they embodied their respective roles with utmost passion and dedication. In fact, the delivery was so flawless that you’d forget for a second that this is merely a fictional story and genuinely root for the main character to earn his redemption.
