willenette
*** The trend of decreasing runtimes is evident this year. Like "Project Silence," which was released TODAY July 12, is only 96- minutes. The recent decrease in runtimes is a desperate measure to adapt to changing viewer habits influenced by short-form content on platforms like YouTube and other social media to compete with streaming services. willenette
Ju Ji Hoon Reflects on Working with Late Actor Lee Sun Kyun in ‘Project Silence’ Ju Ji Hoon recently spoke about his experience working with the late Lee Sun Kyun, who passed away in December last year. Reflecting on his colleague, Ju Ji Hoon described Lee as “a good colleague, a good mentor, and a good actor.” In an interview on July 10th for the upcoming film Project Silence, set to release on July 12th, Ju Ji Hoon shared fond memories of working with Lee Sun Kyun. Project Silence is one of Lee Sun Kyun’s final works. When asked if this project held special significance, Ju Ji Hoon responded, “(Every new project) is always precious.” The disaster thriller Project Silence revolves around a collision on a foggy airport bridge, isolating people while military experimental dogs are released. Lee Sun Kyun plays Jung Won, a security office administrator trapped on the bridge, and Ju Ji Hoon portrays Cho Bak, a tow truck driver seeking a big break. The cast also includes Kim Hee Won, Moon Sung Geun, Ye Soo Jung, Kim Tae Woo, Park Ju Hyun, and more. Directed by Kim Tae Gon, known for Familyhood (2016), the film promises intense drama and action. This film marks the first time Ju Ji Hoon and Lee Sun Kyun have worked together. Ju Ji Hoon shared that he discussed the project daily with Lee Sun Kyun during filming. “Sun Kyun, Hee Won, and I had similar temperaments,” he said. “We talked non-stop about the project during breaks and after filming, over meals and drinks. We didn’t separate work from rest; we continuously discussed the movie.” Ju Ji Hoon noted the stark contrast between his character Cho Bak and Lee Sun Kyun’s Jung Won. He also observed differences in their acting styles. “Sun Kyun is more detail-oriented than I am,” he explained. “Where I might gloss over, he meticulously attends to every detail. Watching his approach made me want to learn and absorb his methods.” When asked if he felt any pressure since Project Silence is Lee Sun Kyun’s final film, Ju Ji Hoon replied, “As an actor, I did my job, and I will do my best to promote the film.” source : https://www.newsis.com/view/NISX20240710_0002805917

willenette
*** I watched his movie "Gentleman". Sigh.....I find it good but, during its release around 2022 holiday season, it only has less than a quarter million admissions at the South Korean box office. The movie is the sort of movie that's interesting mainly in the sense that it was so unnoticed and completely forgotten. The Korean title is just that same English word, written in Korean characters. It's so generic that even eighteen months later, you're going to have trouble hunting down this film if you actually want to watch it again because any search you could run will pull up a dozen unrelated titles. Although, this is still streaming via Netflix.
