willenette
*** I've watched his movie, "Ransomed". The film is based on actual events but the characters and specific events in the film are fictional. This may sound a bit like Escape from Mogadishu (Jo In Sung's movie last year) but, “Ransomed” however is more action-oriented. Unfortunately, at two hours and twelve minutes, “Ransomed” runs too long and its lack of character development drags it down. “Ransomed” occasionally had trouble holding my interest. Pan-soo played by Ju Ji Hun may not get the impressive arc that Min-joon (Ha Jung Woo) does, with the character often disappearing for extended periods of time, Ju Ji Hun still manages to be impactful every time he appears on-screen. With this said though, “Ransomed” ends up being a fairly entertaining movie, filled with exciting action sequences and a fantastic central duo that more than makes up for the feature’s shortcomings with their enjoyable double act. willenette
*** Joo Ji Hoon has hit the jackpot by investing in his own label. Good for him! According to South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service on December 7 KST, content production company BLITZWAY will soon acquire H& Entertainment, a management agency that is home to Joo Ji Hoon and more. The merger and acquisition was publicized last month and a shareholders' meeting to approve the acquisition will be held on January 10. Joo Ji Hoon is the single largest shareholder of H& Entertainment, holding 34.6% of the company's total shares. The CEO holds 18.0%, being the second largest shareholder. It is estimated that Joo Ji Hoon invested approximately 400,000,000 KRW (~ $300,000 USD), becoming a major shareholder. Now, after just 3 years, Joo Ji Hoon's investment has returned him 5,800,000,000 KRW (~ $4.4 million USD). "BLITZWAY has determined H& Entertainment's company value at 14,400,000,000 KRW (~ $10.88 million USD), or a ratio of 1 : 6.4807788. willenette
*** Disney+ announced that "Light Shop" (previously translated as Lighting Store) will be coming to our screens this year, 2024. Unfortunately, though, there hasn’t been much released about the other characters in this new drama version, so we don’t yet know who will be playing who from the webtoon – or if there are any newly made or changed characters. The one that has been confirmed is that Seolhyun will be playing a suspicious customer. Presumably, there will be more than one customer and we certainly have a stacked list of cast members to fill out the world of Light Shop. Looking forward to Ju Ji Hun's newest drama. Thumbs up from me for the star cast! I noticed why does Ju Ji Hun seems to be typecast in the “horror” genre? I am wondering if this will be more about ghosts like Hi, Bye Mama and Ghost Doctor so is not scary at all. But, this gives me Hotel de Luna vibes. Whatever........hope it’s good. I hope this be available on Hulu as well so, more people can watch it. Few can be able to watch it via Disney. I love ghostie-human interactions. The mystery/horror is interesting - I'm excited to find out more about what tone they will set. I missed Ju Ji Hun in the small screen. It's been quite a while since "Jirisan".
