I love this song titled "Yours" by BTS Jin from "Jirisan". From the lyrics ("Every time I see you in my heart, every time I do I end up crying") to the way he interpreted the song definitely has it all. His calm and soft voice is pleasing to the ear.

‘Kingdom’ star Ju Ji Hoon to star in the upcoming drama ‘The Dominant Species’? Find Out

Experienced actor Ju Ji Hoon received a cast offer to lead the new drama. Read ahead to know more.

 

 

On June 23, an official from his agency H& Entertainment told Newsen, "Ju Ji Hoon received an offer to appear in 'The Dominant Species' and is considering it."

 

'The Dominant Species' is a work depicting the story of a world where superior genes, viruses, and food are eaten as pills. 

 

It is known as a new work by Lee Soo Yeon, who wrote Disney+ ‘Grid' and 'Secret Forest'. The current arrangement is under discussion. It is noteworthy whether Ju Ji Hoon, who has been working hard since the end of  ‘Jirisan', will confirm his appearance in 'The Dominant Species

 

Ju Ji Hoon had various bit parts in television dramas, but it was in 2006's romantic comedy ‘Princess Hours’, based on the manhwa ‘Goong’, that he achieved a breakthrough. The drama was a hit domestically with a peak rating of 28.3%, and internationally across Asia, catapulting Ju Ji Hoon into Korean Wave stardom. He won the Best New Actor award at the MBC Drama Awards along with his co-star Yoon Eun Hye.

 

In March 2007, he starred in KBS2' revenge drama ‘The Devil’, opposite Uhm Tae Woong and Shin Min Ah. The same month, he received the New Asian Star award at the 1st Astar TV Drama Awards for his performance in ‘Princess Hours’ and ‘The Devil’. His film debut was in ‘Antique’ (2008), based on the manga ‘Antique Bakery’.

 

The film was invited to the 59th Berlin International Film Festival. He then reunited with ‘The Devil’ co-star Shin Min Ah in the romantic comedy ‘The Naked Kitchen’. 

 

In 2019, he made a comeback to the small screen with two television series; Netflix's zombie period drama ‘Kingdom’, and MBC's fantasy legal drama ‘Item’. In 2020, Ju Ji Hoon reprised his role in the second season of ‘Kingdom’ and starred in the legal drama ‘Hyena’.

As far as I remember, in an interview some years ago, he had shared that he wanted to ride a bicycle for so long. He said that he's been riding his bicycle recently. *** JJH is in talks for a new streaming drama called "Dominant Species". It doesn't have a specific broadcast platform yet but, is in talks with an international streamer so, I'm guessing Netflix, Disney or Apple TV. Arrival will be next year in 2023

The black leather jacket styling is so chic, same thing with white suit. The pose under the red light is filled with so much sexiness. They have concepts in his own style that he led the scene professionally. When photobooks and magazines are released, publishers make sure that the photos that are used are of the best quality, (A-cut) sometimes scrapping entire photoshoots because they fail to meet expectations (B-cut). Joo Ji Hoon’s potential role is not yet known. The drama comes from the writer of Grid and Forest of Secrets.

On August 11, it was reported that Han Hyo Joo recently decided to appear in “Dominant Species” (literal title) and is adjusting her schedule. In response to the report, a source from her agency BH Entertainment clarified, “Han Hyo Joo has received an offer to star in the new drama ‘Dominant Species’ and is currently reviewing the offer.”

 

“Dominant Species” tells the story of a world of superior genes and viruses where all food is consumed in the form of a pill. It’s the new project of screenwriter Lee Soo Yeon, who wrote “Forest of Secrets” (also known as “Stranger”) and “Grid.” Joo Ji Hoon is in talks to play the male lead.

 

“Dominant Species” is scheduled to begin filming later this year, and it is currently in discussion to be revealed on a global OTT platform.

It’s a good pairing on paper, and if both actors agree to sign on, it will be their first time working together. At least I think it is. Dominion is penned by the famed writer of Forest of Secrets, and is about how everything – from viruses, genes to food – are controlled via popping pills. Filming will start in October and the drama would most likely be released on streaming platform.

1. “Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds”

 

 

Taking place in the afterlife, three grim reapers (played by Ha Jung Woo, Kim Hyang Gi, and Joo Ji Hoon) guide a firefighter named Kim Ja Hong (Cha Tae Hyun), helping him for the next 49 days. They are to pass seven trials within those days, and if they are successful, he will be reincarnated. The grim reapers will also be one step closer to being reincarnated themselves.

 

There really isn’t a single boring part in this movie. With every completion of the trials, viewers were constantly anticipating what would happen next. The movie is based on the webtoon series and was released in South Korea on December 20, 2017. The response for the movie continued to grow after its release, and by the end of the year, it had attracted more than 10 million viewers in just 15 days. The success of the movie was so massive that there was a sequel produced called “Along With the Gods: The Last 49 Days,” which was also able to pass the 10 million ticket sales mark.

Actors Ju Ji-hoon and Han Hyo-joo have been cast as the lead roles in the new drama series “Dominant Species” (translated), written by Lee Su-yeon of hit series “Stranger” (2017) and “Stranger 2” (2020).
 
Production company Ace Factory confirmed the news Thursday.
 
Set in an era where humans only consume cultured meat produced by in labs, the series revolves around mysteries related to the heads of genetic engineering company BF Group which dominates the cellular agriculture market.

 

Ju portrays soldier-turned-bodyguard Woo Chae-woon, and Han portrays BF Group founder and CEO Yoon Ja-yu.
 
Actors Lee Hee-joon, Lee Mu-saeng and Park Ji-yeon also feature in the series.
 
The series will go into production in the latter half of the year.
