Deeds On every historic anniversary, actress Song Hye-kyo, who has been donating and sponsoring overseas independence movement sites for 10 years, started doing good things again on the occasion of Liberation Day.Sungshin Women's University's Department of Liberal Arts Professor Seo Kyung-duk's research team announced on the 15th that Song Hye-kyo and Professor Seo Gyeong-duk donated 10,000 copies of the 'Story of Our History Overseas - New York Edition' guidebook that guides the history of the independence movement to the Korean Cultural Center in New York, USA.
This donation was carried out as part of the 'Donation of Guidebooks for the History of the Korean Independence Movement by Cities around the World', which Song Hye-kyo and Professor Seo have been conducting for 10 years. It is the sixth place to donate after Shanghai, China, Tokyo, Japan, and Paris, France.

According to Professor Suh Kyung-duk's research team, 'The Story of Our History Overseas - New York Edition' was produced in full color, Korean and English for anyone to easily understand, and introduces the history of Korea's independence movement in New York, USA. It contains the site of the March 1st Movement commemorative event in New York (Town Hall), the site of the New York District Hall of the Korean National Association, the Korean Church in New York, the New York International House, and the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Professor Seo Kyung-duk said, "Due to the influence of the Korean Wave, foreigners are also interested in Korean history, and I wanted to help overseas Koreans and international students to know a little bit about the history of the independence movement in New York." As a result, the situation of the relics of the independence movement remaining abroad is not very good. It is time for us to pay more attention to this.”
Meanwhile, Song Hye-kyo has sponsored a campaign to donate Korean guidebooks, Korean signs, and relief works to 28 relics of the Korean independence movement overseas through a campaign planned by Professor Seo Kyung-duk's research team on every historic anniversary for the past 10 years.
