In the drama Descendants of The Sun, Song Hye Kyo plays Kang Mo-Yeon, a really good cardiothoracic specialist who finished medical school at the age of 29. She plays opposite Song Joong-Ki who is an elite special forces soldier, and graduated top of his class from the military academy. Their lives are intertwined in this melodrama, despite their opposing beliefs.

The Descendants of the Sun series has been rumored to have a movie version, But this has not yet been confirmed by the production, nor by Song Hye Kyo. She did talk about it a lot during interviews, but never confirmed aboutreprising her role, reports Inquisitr.

According to the International Business Times, there is another rumor that the drama might be in for a Hollywood remake instead and that she may just be a part of it.

Song Hye Kyo is one of the most beautiful South Korean actresses of her time.  She became famous for her roles in Autumn In My Heart (2000), Full House (2004), That Winter The Wind Blows (2013), and of course, the very popular Descendants of the Sun.

She is a product endorser of Laneige and formerly a spokesperson of Etude House, both are beauty and skincare brands in Korea. She has also endorsed Levis, McDonald’s and other beauty brands as well.

Song Hye Kyo is one of Korea’s top stars and everything she says gets into the headlines. Korean television dramas have taken conventional TV dramas aside. In Asia, they are the most sought after shows to watch mainly because the stories remain different yet still relatable. The plot is never messy and there are but a few characters. This keeps the story simple and fun to follow.

August Brand Power Rankings For Actors Revealed

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed its brand power rankings for actors for August (from July 11 to August 12). The results come from 76,521,377 pieces of data that measure brand participation, media coverage, communication, and community.

In first place comes Gong Yoo with 7,718,734. Following him is Ha Jung Wooand Song Joong Ki in second and third place respectively.

A representative from the research institute revealed that there were big changes in brand power rankings due to the success of the film “Train To Busan” which features Gong Yoo. 10. Song Hye-kyo’s parents did not think she would survive more than a few days when she was born.

If Hye-kyo’s parents worst fears came true, the whole of Asia — and even the world — would have been robbed off of one of the best contemporary talents in acting. When Song Hye-kyo was born, she was terribly sick, leading her parents and doctors to believe that she would not survive, according to South Korea’s My Daily. As a result, her parents did not even register her birth in November, the month she was actually born, and only officially registered her birth more than three months later in February of the next year.

9. Song Hye-kyo also wanted to be an athlete when she grew up, much like her Descendants of the Sun co-star, Song Joong-ki.

As Inquisitr reported earlier, Song Joong-ki wanted to be an athlete when he was growing up. It turns out Song Hye-kyo was also a gifted athlete when she was growing up with her mother in the Gangnam District in Seoul. Trained as a figure skater, Song Hye-kyo was a remarkable talent even in her early years, but she quit the sport in high school to focus more on her other vocations, one of which included modeling.

8. Song Hye-kyo won a modeling contest for teens when she was 14-years-old, sparking an ambition in her to model for the biggest brands.

When Song Hye-kyo was 14, she won the SunKyung Smart Model Contest, the prize of which included being the poster kid for a school uniform company. The following year, she starred in romantic comedy series Full House, which established her as one of the most sought-after South Korean actresses in the business.

6. At the peak of her success, Song Hye-kyo took a two-year hiatus from work to learn English in the United States.

SONG JOONG-KI, SONG HYE-KYO TO MEET ON SEPTEMBER 8

Come September, a dual treat awaits the fans of Descendants of the Sun. Their favorite star couple, Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo, will meet once again Thanks to Descendants of the Sun, the military drama helped garner a huge fan following for Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo — the lead stars who went on the became Asia’s favorite celebrity couple.

The enigmatic duo share several nicknames. While some fondly call them the Song Song couple, others refer to them as KiKyo pair. The charismatic twosome is also fondly remembered as Beauty and the Big Boss.

 

If all goes well, Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo will meet next month at the gala of Seoul International Drama Awards. The awards ceremony will be held at KBS hall on September 8. Most probably, both Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo will show up to share the glory.

The effort put in by these stars, along with the cast and crew of the drama, has not gone unnoticed. The storyline and the stars have become popular not just in Asia, but also in the U.S. and Europe. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Descendants of the Sun has been nominated for the Hallyu Drama Award.

Despite their hectic schedule, Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo have always been present at fan meets and other events that revolve around Descendants of the Sun. There is no reason why they may have to miss this one. Although the Song Song couple have not confirmed their attendance, fans are hoping to see them at the gala.

The last time Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo were spotted together was during the recording of the extras for the DVD version ofDescendants of the Sun.

We must wait and watch if Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo will come together holding hands just like they did at Baeksang awards.Fans went berserk when a beautiful Song Hye-kyo, dressed like a princess, was escorted by Song Joong-ki who played Prince Charming. Much to the delight of the fans who want them to take their on-screen romance offline, the couple walked hand-in-hand and posed for photographs.

Nonetheless, both Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo have always denied rumors that they are seeing each other.

On the sets of Descendants of the Sun, the couple shared a spectacular chemistry. Both of these co-stars were gracious and have only good things to say about each other.

According to a report by Couch Kimchi, Song Joong-ki, in an earlier interview said the following about his co-star.

“I felt really happy to be able to film together with Korea’s most beautiful actress. Everyone thinks it’s because of her outward appearance that she became famous, but after working together, I realized her inner heart and personality are also good. Moreover, she has lots of acting experience and I actually did learn a lot from her.”

Song Hye-kyo responded in kind.

“When I first read the script, I thought that this drama’s success depended on how the lead actor plays his part and he made it possible. Song Joong-ki played his role so attractively that it even made my heart flutter. That led to the unexpected response from the viewers,” Song Hye-kyo added.

Song Joong-ki recently told Soompi that even if he were in a relationship, he will make sure he keeps it under wraps.

“I have no plans to go public if I get into a relationship. I will do my best to safeguard the privacy of the person I love and respect her feelings. I may also want to keep the [relationship] a secret,” said Song Joong-ki.

Meanwhile, the hashtag #SongSongcouple has been trending on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram even after the military romance concluded in April.
