Song Hye Gyo to Release Photo Essay Book “Hye Gyo’s Time”

On August 29, Song Hye Gyo revealed a part of the book trailer for her upcoming photo essay, “Hye Gyo’s Time.” The revealed video clip uses popular indie band Rooftop Moonlight‘s “Bird” as its background music. It starts out with Song Hye Gyo in bed, waking up from her sleep to bright sunlight and beginning her day.

As Song Hye Gyo has not been active since KBS “The World That They Live In” and film “Today,” fans are welcoming the book trailer with open arms in excitement to see and get updates about their favorite actress. Sone Hye Gyo prepared this photo essay during her vacation in Korea. While she was doing photo shoots exclusively for this photo essay book, she also actively participated in making special video clips for her anticipating fans.

“Hye Gyo’s Time” also includes various personal and professional stories of Song Hye Gyo and many pictorials that have been shot over past four years. The main book trailer is scheduled to be revealed on August 30 when the book is released. The teaser video is available on YouTube and various online bookstores.

Song Hye Gyo Celebrates Her Birthday with a Small Party

On November 28, fashion director Shim Woo Chan posted a picture on herTwitter titled, “In celebration of someone’s birthday.” It was revealed that the “someone” was actress Song Hye Gyo, who was having a small birthday party.

Those who attended the party were members of her UAA agency. CEO of French global agency “Effigies” Fabienne Martin joined in as well. Fabienne Martin was a manager for several famous actors including Charlotte Gainsbourg and Robin Wright. Last year, she signed a contract with Song Hye Gyo for the actress to possibly enter into the arena of the European market.

The atmosphere of the party was nice and warm. The actress individually thanked all the people of her UAA agency for coming to her party. As for looking good, Song Hye Gyo could not be missed. Even with almost no make-up, Song Hye Gyo’s skin glowed and her hair tied in a knot suited her well. Her casual outfit with a checked shirt looked very natural and charming as well.

After signing with the UAA agency last year, Song Hye Gyo has been preparing for her main role in the upcoming SBS drama “That Winter, the Wind Blows”alongside actor Jo In Sung. Her Hong Kong action movie “The Grandmasters” will soon be out next year as well.

Song Hye Gyo Signs Contract with Global Agency in France

Song Hye Gyo signed a contract with the global agency, Effigies, in France, gearing up for her official debut in Europe.

Effigies is home to famous actresses such as Robin Wright Penn andCharlotte Gainsbourg.

Song Hye Gyo’s representatives said, “We received an offer for the first time last fall. At that time, we did not have time to participate in any activities after signing the contract so we thought about it for about a year. Finally, we made the decision this May. We would like to maintain a good partnership with them.”

After seeing some of Song Hye Gyo’s movies like “Hwang Jin Yi” and “Fetish,” representatives from Effigies gave positive reviews and sent a lovecall right away.

Effigies has conspicuously put up Song Hye Gyo’s picture and profile on their website. They introduced her as an “actress who represents Hallyu.” She is the first Asian actress or actor to sign with Effigies.

Song Hye Gyo’s sources said, “She is the first Asian actress. We believe Effigies doesn’t go for short-term. We don’t think Song Hye Gyo will start appearing in European films or advertisements right away. We still have yet to discuss the details for official activities.”

Song Hye Gyo’s most recent film “Today” will hit theaters in Korea on October 27.

On December 24, a new still from the upcoming Chinese Movie “The Grandmasters” was released. “The Grandmasters” has been directed by the well-known director Wong Kar-wai and is to tell the story of the legendary martial arts grandmaster Yip Man.

In the picture is actor Tony Leung as Yip Man and the Korean actress Song Hye Gyo as his wife. Song Hye Gyo is wearing a beautiful traditional Qipao and is leaning against Tony Leung intimately. With their peaceful expressions, they look like a real loving couple.

Song Hye Gyo has already shown a sample of her elegance in the movie teaser that was released previously.

Meanwhile “The Grandmasters,” which took three years to complete, will be released in China on January 8, 2013.

One of South Korea’s leading cosmetics brand in Malaysia, Laneige has expanded its business operations to the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia with the opening of its boutique in East Coast Mall. Measuring approximately 670 sq ft, this boutique features a K-beauty area, a retail wall, step-by-step makeup video tutorials and a dedicated wall for men products.

According to Foong Winnie, Brand Manager of Laneige Malaysia, Laneige has typically been operating from counters inside major departmental stores. “Since last year, the brand has decided to take a bold move by extending its distribution channels to include boutiques as well as having a strategic partnership with Sephora, a well-known cosmetic retailer. Starting mid-December 2014, we will also have Laneige products made available through Go Shop, Astro’s Home Shopping Channel,” said Foong.

Laneige, which was established in Malaysia in 2006, has currently 25 counters nationwide, two boutiques and also product distribution through nine of Sephora’s outlets in the Klang Valley.

The brand is embarking on an aggressive expansion plan starting next year with more counters and boutiques opening by 2016 to strengthen its distribution network. “We’ll be setting up our second counter in Kota Kinabalu in January next year in response with the great demand that we received since the opening of our first counter last August. We will review the response from each market from time to time and if need be, we will open up more counters to cope with the market demand,” said Foong.

[INTERVIEW] Song Hye Kyo Reveals Her Beauty Secrets In Achieving A Healthy Glow

Korean superstar Song Hye Kyo is known for her healthy, flawless skin that glows naturally. You may think that it is attributed to all the makeup she’s wearing. However, in a recent interview with the star herself, she reveals that makeup does very little in helping her achieve that natural, healthy glow. “Makeup can only enhance one’s natural beauty. You can’t only rely on makeup to make you beautiful,” said Song.

To attain that healthy glow, Song advises women to lead a healthy lifestyle, which includes eating right, exercising and getting enough sleep. Freshly cooked food, vegetables and fruits should be consumed regularly, and each person should drink at least 1.5 litres of water daily. Fast food and soft drinks should be avoided as they are detrimental to health and could affect the skin. Song also practices stretching exercises right after dinner. Apart from that, she hits the gym at least four times a week to stay in shape.
