Yup, you read the headline right—actress Song Hye Kyo trained in figure skating way back in elementary and high school!

 

Apart from her award-winning acting skills and ~ethereal~ beauty, Hye Kyo is also a natural when it comes to the winter sport. It was her dream to become an athlete, but when she won a modeling contest for a school uniform company (she was just 14 at that time!), she pursued her acting career instead.

 

Still, Hye Kyo was able to practice figure skating for some of her shows, like this one for a TV program:And in the OG drama, Full House, starring Rain. Kilig!

 

If she didn’t debut as an actress, we bet Hye Kyo would be bagging awards in various events. But we are grateful that we get to see her onscreen and admire her existence! Recently, she’s been gracing the covers of magazines and endorsing luxury brands, as seen on her Instagram account. In 2017, she married her Descendants Of The Sun co-star Song Joong Ki. The two were officially divorced last year.

S. Korean actress' sculpture donation hailed by Chinese fans

South Korean actress Song Hye-kyo on Wednesday donated the sculpture of a Korean hero who fought against the Japanese invasion in the 20th century to a museum dedicated to the historical figure, which is located in Northeast China, winning applause from her fans and the Chinese public.
The hero - Kim Chwa-chin - fought against Japanese militarism and imperialism. In 1920, Kim led the Korean Independence Army in the Battle of Cheongsanri with intelligence information from China. Kim was assassinated by an agent of the Japanese colonial government in 1930. 
Due to the Japanese occupation of Korea, many of Kim's anti-Japanese invasion activities took place in Chinese territory. A museum for him was established in Hailin, Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, where the sculpture will be placed, according to South Korean media outlet Yonhap News Agency. 
The donation was made by Song and Seo Kyoung-Duk, a professor at Sungshin University in Seoul. The two had previously donated other sculptures of Korean heroes to the Netherlands, China and Kazakhstan. 
Song has a wide audience in China for her roles in many popular dramas and the donation was hailed by her fans and the public.

Chinese and Korean people established friendship through the fight against Japanese imperialism. Respect for Chinese people's feelings will win appreciation in return for the actress, Lü Chao, a research fellow at the Liaoning Academy of Social Sciences, told the Global Times. 
Chinese fans' reaction to Song's donation was in strong contrast to that after South Korean band BTS made remarks on the Korean War earlier this month after they won an award on US-Korea relations.
The band leader highlighted the history of pain that South Korea and the US shared, which hurt the feelings of Chinese fans. The speech played up to US netizens, but the country played the role of aggressor in the war, some said. 
There are many cultural interactions between China and South Korea. Celebrities' actions and attitudes related to history and politics are in the spotlight, and they should be very careful in commenting on those affairs, Lü said.
No matter what the band really wanted to express, its remarks have hurt the feelings of Chinese people and were further used by some right-wing media to sow discord between China and South Korea, Lü stressed.

buzz about possible SHK drama project with LJS, well quite excited about it as it is helm by renowned PD and writer and LJS is a great young actor too with hit k dramas , but we will wait and see as no news yet from K media and confirmation from UAA though there's a big possibility that they are considered for this upcoming drama next year by the time LJS got out from MS and this will be his comeback drama , and SHK well it is proven then during TWTWB and DOTS that male lead got lucky for their hit k drama after MS.

Fans are really that excited for SHK upcoming project that even the unconfirmed news about her possible K drama comeback with LJS is creating a lot of buzz from fans social media account and even in some international media/blogs though K media have not written any about it yet .  For now K news mentioning SHK is only for the upcoming APAN awards this Nov 29th wherein as one of its Grand Prize/Daesang winner , SHK was acknowledged along with the other winners.  After Full House , SHK usually comes back in small screen after 3 or even more years and considering that her last one Encounter was just a year ago 2019 , there's a possibility that she won't be doing any drama comeback yet unless that project is really that good that SHK can't refuse.  Though i am excited also about it , i have to wait for SHKs agency official announcement coz this might be the same case as the last offer to her to star in Hyena that eventually went to KHS though there were k news about the offer for her.  Just hope her next project will be that good with blockbuster potential and could earn her another Daesang award !
