serious: "Yang Buhui Stepmom Group"? In FB there is a groupe "Yian Xiao, Ming cult, under one person, above ten thousand people", but there are all Vietnamese.

 I am here because Yan Xiao too...I only watch the parts with him. The rest I skip, maybe I will watch the wedding .

LOL - really - stepmother group? Here I thought I was a fan.

Nothing more appealing than a converted playboy. I am so with you here. I'm not invested in the other characters. Although ZZR and ZM are sure pretty.

    She is my favorite too.

I din't want to watch this drama, because there was so many version already out. but because of a friend, who started to be crazy about YX, I gave it a try. The drama is OK, my favorite couple are YX and YXF. I always love the story of this couple most - and in this drama Lin Shen did a good job to portrait YX.

For who has interest - this is the MV I made for the friend, who loves YX so much. I chose a song from his favorite singer too: leslie cheung:

Oh my goodness! I have never taken notice of Yang Xiao in the previous versions. Admittedly, I found him a little salty and wet. However, in this version, even when he first appeared on screen I was like - wow.

Hello there?! Who's this guy?! I found this version of Yang Xiao to be suave, super cool and charismatic.

I love, love their chemistry! I was a teensy weensy disappointed there wasn't a little more skinship between the two but I had savoured their every interaction and hoarding their scenes like a squirrel. So my favourite scenes are from Episodes 4 & 5

  3. @Sary Em thank you for the translation!! LOL she's not only sassy but certainly knows how to make an entrance...

    giphy.gif

I like her already!! She sounds perfect for Mo Yuan

I think it's also set a precedent as to how she will forever disrupt, confound and totally messes with Mo Yuan's life!! And...I love it  Let's bring on our bickering, super duper cute couple.

  4. Oh my, I have one more favourite scene to add to my collection. That is in Episode 49.

LOL, I love it how Bai Qian threatens to kidnap and lock up YeHua in her fox den if he has any romantic dalliances/ relationships in the mortal realm. He responds with

"If that is so, I'd rather that you snatch me away right now" :heart::heart:
I have only one thing to say... PICK ME, YE HUA!!!

well since BQ keep saying qing qiu women simply says what they think, what else can we interpret from what she said right? :flushed:

every interactions between YH and BQ in ep 48 so swoon worthy, even the cheesy lines, like YH saying BQ can look at him some more or took a nap in his arm.

@atgirlina lol, I do love the cheesy lines because only Mark can get away with it. Although, anyone else it will be goose-bumps, cringe-worthy and all. Not also to mention slightly nauseating. Honestly, he can proposition me and I'll be like "okay".

@Sary Em Actually, I didn't mind YangMi. I really felt that she was on par with Mark in many respects, it's just that Mark is well my kind of 'handsome'' and I have a preference for him so he stood out for me. Particularly when YeHua is such a complex character so Mark's portrayal was definitely spot on!! I have to admit I still don't quite understand why anyone would ever think he's ugly. Seriously, I have no qualms someone as 'ugly' as Mark chasing me...

I kind of feel bad for Yang Mi, girl did so awesome for her waterworks and emotions at ending episodes.  Should've had some acknowledgement.  But she is also a producer or what does it mean having own production team/crew?  IMO, Both actors are great criers!!! They have great onscreen chemistry.

How likely do actors work with each other again? In this industry/country?  Not like KDrama, decades later lol.  But Thai ET, if the fan club wants it, it's instantaneous and back to back lol.  Here's hoping a quick reunion.

Ah-ya! What am I do? I am still addicted to this drama despite the final episodes being aired 9 days ago. This picture definitely reflects my current sentiment at the moment. I have a 'war and peace' contract which needs to finalised by Monday (just a little under 300 pages) and I haven't even looked at it let alone started on my amendments *sigh*

Perhaps I need to ensconced myself in a secluded area, preferably with my favourite shifu (ahem)  or favourite crush. Won't get any work done anyway. I'm beginning to understand why MY won't accept female disciples. So distracting...

  8. **sigh** and more *sighing*. Just like Bai Qian, I'm drinking myself to oblivion with 3L3W MVs, not to mention watching re-runs of my favourite scenes.

I haven't quite found another drama to 'replace' or at least divert my attention...

Let's hear some names here for your picks as ideal leads for MY novel!

@peanutbutterjellytime I wouldn't mind seeing Zhu Yi Long as Mo Yuan. He's handsome enough to be considered 'pretty boy'.

As for SW, I would like someone who's kind of sassy and would kickass. So Tong Liya would definitely be my choice and she's actually a good actress. GYY would definitely suit the look however she may appear too nice and sweet. No, we need to rouse and prod our God of War not appease him

  9. @MAROSA_JIN  Oohh! This is one of my favourite scenes and where my fangirl crush started. When I really perk up and started noticing Mark's acting. My favourite expression is definitely the *smirk*. Oh my, I'm going to re-watch those scenes!!

Btw: I wouldn't press replay if I ever find Mark shirtless or in a shower scene, it will be laminated and billboard across my bedroom. Hubby can sleep in the spare room!

@whitesky20 and @peanutbutterjellytime Ohhh! I love your fanfictions!! Adding lots of oil  I devoured them both!!

  10. @michellismyname Ohhh (this aunty is doing a fangirling scream) Yes it's a bit awkward so it's a good thing I'm not in the office. Oh but I love the picture. I still haven't got to that part yet as I'm still waiting for English subtitles from DramaFever. This time round I'm going to savour every moment!

Oh I finally got to Episode 37. Re: Feng Jiu and Dong Hua. I'm going to be very explicit about my views regarding their love story so read at your own risk. Don't say I haven't warned you.

I am still perplexed (even more so now that I understand what they're saying) and to some extent astounded by their popularity.

Vengao despite being so handsome was a block of wood and FJ unfortunately came across a little too desperate. In fact, she almost had the second lead syndrome…

Their un-fated love was under-developed, it was a carousel of frustration (it went on a bit too long for my liking), too much unrequited love (where’s your self respect, FJ!) and in my opinion *gasp* not particularly very interesting. I didn’t mind so much their interactions at the Celestial Kingdom but during the mortal realm, every time I watched their scenes together all I wanted to do was vomit blood. Oh and please don’t get me started on DH’s goatee *shudder*. He looked so lecherous and salty that I had to press fast forward, especially their wedding night *another shudder*.

I know someone is going to cast stones at me but no amount of alcohol could induce me to watch those scenes. Sorry but I had to get that off my chest. I must be dense as fog because I didn't get it when fans were saying how they fast forwarded only to Feng Jiu and Dong Hua's scenes. Well that's a very short drama.

In fact I was more interested in Cheng Yu and Lian Song love line, I won't say anymore. I'm sure you got the picture.

Also, after BQ remembers everything about her SuSu life, I think it was just right and normal for her to react that way. If it were me, some pretty serious sh!t would have hit the fan. The hardships she underwent as SuSu was no joke. Let's be honest that while YH did everything he could, in the end he still failed to really protect her. Aside from the fact he didn't explain or tell her important things especially before taking her eyes. He could have explained that this is the only way to save you. They will have you killed otherwise. I know SuJin framed you and we will get your eyes back once I become Heavenly Lord etc. (you get the gist). But right before YH took SuSu's eyes he only said, "I will definitely marry you." If I were SuSu, "The fucx?! Not in a million years!"

@michellismyname LOL, I love your comments! It's so sassy and badass. It's hilarious because I feel exactly the same way. I never once thought Bai Qian over-reacted when she finally finds out that she's also SuSu. I definitely would have my knickers in knot about it as well. If you think carefully, YeHua had 300 years to process the painful experience but Bai Qian only had about 1 week. That's a lot to take in especially when you consider how poorly they treated her (ahem, SuJin the cow). They looked down on her simply because she was a mortal, talk about a HR moment, regarding all that discrimination.

I think it's a shock to the system, not to mention it's never a nice feeling when you realise the person who professes to love you will treat you in such a manner. So I completely understand the sense of betrayal, particularly Bai Qian's reaction and sentiment.Poor YeHua never really explained why he did and I think even until his death Bai Qian never fully understood his actions. It caused such a huge rift in their relationship, yes their communication issues *sigh*.

Doesn't mean I don't feel sorry for YeHua though. You know I never felt the novel did any justice to YeHua but here in the drama, he can sit there drink his tea, wear his peach blossom outfit, saying nothing and I still think he's awesome!!!

In the novel, I found him particularly difficult to understand because it was told more or less from Bai Qian’s perspective. Additionally, he’s such a private and stoic man, not easily one to show his emotions and you really don’t get to know his thoughts in the same way we did with Bai Qian so in this regard I found him rather complex. However, I do have a weakness for complex, three dimensional male leads, Yehua is no exception

Certainly, YeHua’s character which was wonderfully portrayed by Mark really came to life. I was initially concerned because YeHua doesn’t say much in the novel but this is where Mark truly excelled. Hence my crush. He says so much with his eyes and just look at his expression. Even the command of his body language is crafted beautifully and executed so well.

Personally, I don’t do crushes (feel like a bit of an old aunty for even crushing on Mark) but I definitely made an exception. Although in many ways I didn’t have a choice – he’s just too good! Never thought I was the sighing type until I watched 3L3W or more specifically, Mark! (LOL, I am such a sad case).

I also wanted to say that I never once thought Bai Qian was a bad parent. Most people are never truly bad or good, most of time we're a mix. Humans are such complex creatures, as we are multi-facet being with many layers and dimensions. That's what makes us so interesting and unique. Personally, that's too harsh in my opinion but I would say that I'd prefer that she was a little more involved in A-Li's life. I just thought she would at least try to treasure the moment with her son now that her husband is gone. I don't judge her as I firmly believe we should be responsible for our choices in life.

However, I agree that the drama is trying to depict an all-consuming passionate love, above everything else including our offspring. Perhaps in my own personal life and certainly my own views, I wouldn't allow this all consuming passion to rule me to such an extent. That I would forget that there is life beyond my husband. I feel that this kind of all-consuming love is a little too destructive and on some level a little too selfish. Nice concept and lovely to watch but in reality I find it a little too difficult for me to comprehend.

But hey, it's a fictional world with fictional characters. I must admit I get teased mercilessly for being so involved in these characters.

Although, I did go about in a daze for days after the final episodes aired last week so perhaps I'm much more like Bai Qian than I realised. Certainly, I had no idea how I managed to get any work done. Still a bit of a blur!!

  12. @Sary Em and @linh5000 I made a comment around this issue on Hamster428's website. On a personal note, I am 100% with both of you. Nothing in this world would induce me to part with my child/ children, unless I was dead. And definitely not on the account of YeHua's family. Don't get me wrong, Bai Qian is still one of my favourite heroines, in that I get her on so many levels. She's a flawed character and that's why I like her so much. She definitely doesn't make any excuses for herself. Wrong or right this is how she wants to live.

However, it is this one area that I don't understand her. I know many mothers are not always instinctively maternal I mean who am I to judge but I do feel slightly conflicted in that Bai Qian’s lack of concern for A-Li didn't sit well with me. Everyone has their own coping mechanism and their own timing and ways of dealing with grief but for me personally, I would have done everything I can to ensure that A-Li stays with me. In case you haven't noticed those Celestial beings are clearly dysfunctional and I definitely wouldn't leave him with TianJun. Goodness knows what he'll do with A-Li. For me, a child's upbringing requires a lot of love and nurture and of course discipline which is a full time job. Those are my views and they're pretty strong although understandably a subjective one. Anyhow, I'm blurring the lines of fiction and reality a little too much here. Thankfully, it's a happy ending.

It's any wonder YeHua didn't have any more emotional issues (well aside from the communication part) he turned out to be such a lovely young man. WAHH, I want someone like YeHua as my son-in-law.

@bbssinq I definitely love their interactions in the BTS videos. It's one of the many reasons why I love the drama. You can definitely see both the comrade and fun the cast are having during the filming which makes it even more enjoyable to watch. I certainly love Mark's goofiness. You can tell he and YangMi have become such good buddies, so cute!

$20million, what?!! That's impressive! Well-deserved. Although I'm sure he has plenty more fans this time round who will support and watch his film/ drama.

Incidentally, he noted that he read Tang7 novel, I would like to know what was going through his head? There were some steamy scenes in the novel not to mention YeHua was quite shameless with some romantic (ahem corny) lines. I mean they were in my opinion 'goose-bump' raising comments and I laughed at some scenes when Bai Qian thought they were nauseating (totally!!)

So, I couldn't help but allow my imagination run wild and I wondered if he practised those lines to his wife, Gao Yuan Yuan, and that's the real reason why he accepted the role because they worked so well on her...:blush:

ohhh!! How exciting. I'll definitely read it, so happy for you to post on Soompi

Sooo... I'm kind of really embarrassed to say this but I've started working on a MY/BQ fanfic haha mostly for my own benefit because I really wanted to read one and I wasn't sure if anyone else was working on it.

I'm very pleased that you've decided to write a fanfic about BQ/ MY. I have a huge crush on his novel and drama character. He's one super cool and sexy shifu! Nothing like the teachers I know during my school days (just as well, would have been totally distracted)

So I've read Mark was offered approx. $100 million RMB to star in a film. I couldn't help think what's the conversion rate in Canadian dollars?...

Anyhow, I'm very happy for him. He deserves all the recognition. He definitely earned them. It's not everyday you can win over the Netizen critics (scary bunch).

and @meifang89 I agree with comments about Mark. He strikes me as a level-headed and mature young man. Not to mention down to earth. So he appreciates the fandom and in many respects the popularity of the show but he won't allow it to get to his head. As we all know how fickle 'fame' can be so I have confidence that he will make the right choices. He has so far...

@atgirlina Totally agree - as his mortal self he looked a bit salty, salty, wet, wet (I think that's the literal Cantonese translation) I found the goatee particularly repulsive (sorry if you're Vengao fan) even his usual good looks couldn't save him this time *shudder*. I wasn't kidding when I said I loathe beard/ moustache. Only Mo Yuan manages to make it look smexy *sigh* and NO ONE ELSE can!

YEAH! A big shout to 3L3W team for the most watched drama online. Not surprised!! Congrats!!! I personally think they're awesome.

Btw: there's nothing you can do at the moment to lessen my crush on Mark. I'm still a 'true blue' fangirl (borderline stalker mode) with Mark. all those BTS of him  All he has to do is sneeze and I still think he's cool

@Purestupidity Aww, how lovely is your gesture and offer. I won't encroach on your kindness any further. However, I was hoping to obtain your thoughts as well as the others regarding episode 37. Towards the end where Zhe Yan and Fourth Brother shows up as they've received news from Bi Fang that Bian Qian was badly injured. Zhe Yan was teasing Bai Qian however she responded angrily.

I didn't understand why. Perhaps you or someone can enlighten me? Would appreciate your thoughts...thank you!

Re: Li Jing I forgot mention that I never liked his character in the novel. I found him rather selfish and immature. However, I must say I do like Zhang Binbin's portrayal. He's added more dimension to Li Jing's character and I found that I was a little more sympathetic towards him. I still think BQ did the right thing by cutting ties with him but there was one moment that I almost (okay slight twinge) where I was hoping BQ did give him a second chance or at least they can be friend but knowing it would make YeHua unhappy (and I know who's side I'm on) it's better this way.

Incidentally, Zhang Binbin has the most memorising eyes, they are quite beautiful with its light hue. Although, there is a slight line up of contenders for my attention, mostly being taken up by YeHua and Mo Yuan, not to mention that I am partial to Lian Song . Hahaha I have a harem...

  16. Good evening All

I wanted to personally thank everyone on the forum for allowing me to rant, gush and ramble on about 3L3W.  It's been a real pleasure and a wonderful journey watching 3L3W together. I don't think it would have been that enjoyable without everyone's lively discussion, perspective and contribution.

And well, let's be honest I'm still totally smitten with Mark as YeHua.

I'm currently waiting for the steady release of English subtitles and I must say it's soooo much better when you actually understand (finally!) what they're saying. In fact, I'm enjoying the drama even more.

I'll probably won't say too much from hereon but I wanted to particularly thank you @Purestupidity for painstakingly summarising the drama. Your dedication and efforts are definitely recognised. For those who are Chinese useless we can't thank you enough! Of course, my fellow Soompi members who made me laugh and smile throughout the drama with your comments. They are truly gems and I will treasure those moments!

Have a wonderful drama-rific year and I hope I'll have the joy and pleasure of meeting some of you again :grin:

  18. Oh absolutely I love the ending!!! :heart::heart: It was very satisfying. I'm so pleased that they didn't just end it in the same way as the novel with "Qian Qian, come here". That would have been too disappointing. Those few extra minutes with the couple and then the final kiss was soooooo sweet

Awww...I just LOVE this couple!!! :heart::heart: Most of all I love this drama!!!! Excellent acting (big shout out to Mark), amazing costume, scenery and wonderful direction!!! 10/10 for me!!!

I'm rewatching ( ep 37)... and I think I know why YH doesn't let BQ get into any deathly/dangerous situation and would rather die for her time after time

It's because he once experienced her death as Susu. It's probably hell to him and he'd rather die but not experienced that feeling of her leaving him ever again...

Her death is his worst nightmare...

@bbssinq I totally agree. I don't think YeHua can witness Bai Qian/ SuSu 'death' a second time. His heart and mind won't cope and it will drive him to follow her. Gosh, how beautiful is it to see such a deep love.

He prefers to sacrifice himself rather than live without her. Awwww... :heartbreak:
