A slightly longer interview where the male reporter asked LW if she would consider having a foreign boyfriend, this is from a different angle and you can see LW's reaction a lot better.

The video is very difficult to understand due to noises. But from I could make out of it

    - LW said she is still a model (the question is hard to understand, probably along the lines if she would venture into movies, etc.)

    - Type of wedding she expects: every girl wants a special, unique wedding, however, it needs to reflect your individuality

    - Liddi and deepblue_1 have translated her answers to the variety show and foreign boyfriend

Here, we have a much better, clearer view of her reaction to the "foreign boyfriend" question, she seemed nervous, bashful... definitely something "fishy" going on  .  Yeah, she has a foreign boyfriend is what I see. :)

Thanks for this. See what I mean - questions about a wedding, about a foreign boyfriend...we know exactly who they have in mind when they're asking those questions, and yet they refuse to name him directly! In the U.S., reporters would never be so coy; they'd flatly ask, "So, are you dating [insert name here]?".

Can you translate exactly what it is the manager said? Perhaps the press chose to be discreet in their questioning because of her request.

  2. Her manager is trying to stop the question.... hmmm... are they in the midst of belated To the Fore promotions right now? :P However, it then stands to reason why the interviewer earlier does not even ask about Siwon... they may have been given instructions by her manager what questions are off-limits. And I now wonder whether such instructions were also given during her past interviews as well, hence all the questions that touch on love and the show, but not on him. If so, I guess it is indicative how they have agreed to handle the public scrutiny - no specific questions pertaining to the other party permitted, so they need not be in a position to confirm or deny.

Great minds think alike. :P I've always thought this to be the case; the obvious question is never asked when they happen to touch upon the subject of love or their love lives anyway, and the omission is conspicuous which is why I think it is deliberate. With Siwon, it is perfectly believable that warnings would be given beforehand as to which questions are off-limits because he is so managed, and now that we've observed Liu Wen always has her manager on hand as well, we can believe that it's the same with her, too.

If one watches Liu Wen's reaction closely whenever she is (rarely) asked a direct question relating to Siwon, it is pretty easy to read between the lines and conclude that her immediate bashfulness indicates that they do have something going on. ;)

  3. @allnaturalcrunchtime_stv Oh no no no. On the contrary asian reporters are very 'in the face' as well. Ever heard of Jay Chou's 四面楚歌 (Si Mian Chu Ge)? He wrote this song to describe the paparazzis.

Hmm, all my Asian friends and the ones I've come into contact with are some of the nicest and most polite people I've ever known. I guess those traits don't necessarily extend to general populations nor to reporters, but I do think Western paparazzi are hard to beat in terms of sheer classlessness. TMZ, Perez Hilton, and the like are ample proof of that.

I'd only heard of Jay Chou because our posters mentioned him as the original singer of the song Siwon belted out in the final episode. Terrible song, by the way, and I'm not referring to the lyrics because I don't understand them anyway. The only Asian singer I've seen on YouTube whom I absolutely adore is Teresa Teng (thanks, Liu Wen!); my, what a darling angel she was! "The First Morning" by Lee Hom is also very sweet (I came across it while researching K-dramas...don't ask :P), and I keep fantasizing about Siwon being the guy and Liu Wen the girl in the MV...my goodness, we'd melt into puddles if that came to pass!

  4. Thanks for the recaps, liddi! Further confirmation of what we've known about her...she'd make an awesome friend, so chatty and warm about everything. Of course, I'd need to know Mandarin to understand her in-depth, so I'm afraid that rules me out. She seems cheerful in this interview, and I always take that as a good sign; she seems like the type who, if her personal life were going badly, wouldn't be able to hide it even in a public setting.

And again, the obvious question on everyone's minds isn't asked...I'm starting to wonder if it's because Asians in general are so polite that even a reporter wouldn't dare broach such personal issues? If Liu Wen were a Hollywood celebrity, the paparazzi would be in her face, up her underwear, and asking all kinds of lurid questions.

  5. Poor dear, she looks sooo worn out, but that looks like a prestigious party not to be missed. I suppose if Siwon only finishes filming his serial on Nov. the 5th, there'd be no point for her to be in Korea until then. I just wonder if she can keep herself engaged in East Asia for that long; she rarely remains in one region for even a month. If she's in NYC from the 5th of Nov. till the 19th, I won't know what to think.

And deepblue_1, I'm shocked to see that something as trivial as tiredness would prevent you from staking out Ms. Liu. :P Seriously, though, thanks again for the updates. ;)

  6. @allnaturalcrunchtime_stv:  I can totally go down with that line of thinking, as a matter of fact, all his IG posts supported this and we know the Siwon is more blunt and  expressive than Liu Wen. Between the above 2 scenarios, I think this is more likely. Then my only question about this scenario is that she had always expressed she would see things through, and go one-way all the way, then why would she have a change of tune... was she not sure, all of a sudden, because she was under pressure to make a commitment (some sort of cold feet?), so far as to say she would go accordance with fate?

Well, I can only be oblique about it because I was sent an article via PM and it is kind of tabloid-y, but suffice to say that Liu Wen's parents may have more input into how she handles the relationship than we would've thought. Remember that long vacation she had with them in some mountains in China while Siwon was also in the country at the time on his press tour? What do you suppose would've been the number one topic of discussion amongst the Lius? I'd imagine that, flush from the romantic high of finishing the show, Liu Wen would've been cautioned by her parents to be realistic and take it slow to test the seriousness of Siwon's commitment to her. I hear that good Confucian daughters always listen to their parents' instruction, and anyway, this has always been Liu Wen's main issue of contention with Siwon: his seriousness on important matters. He knows it too, which is why he just had to ask that question on the basketball court.

So, now we know why Liu Wen is being very realistic, very mature about the whole affair whereas I feel that Siwon is perhaps more Hollywood-like in his approach which makes perfect sense considering his background and career. You know, this girl is a real doll, she checks all the boxes, my whole family loves her...why not tell the whole world...why not get engaged...heck, why not get married right now?! Well, if Liu Wen is approaching the relationship from a totally different standpoint, what do you suppose will happen when it comes into conflict with Siwon's? "I'M SINGLE", that's what! :P

  7. @moonee - Yes, I think part of LW is very lonely and insecure, she recognizes that herself.  I am not sure she is cold, I do think she has built a wall between herself and men who may be romantically interested her as a self defense mechanism to not get hurt.  It seems that Siwon was able to knock that wall down, at least to a great extent.   She needs a lot of love and care to make her feel secure, which is such a direct contrast to her as a strong, fierce career woman... which is why people love her.

@allnaturalcrunchtime_stv - I suspected the same, the reunion in Seoul was probably less than perfect. There might be a couple of possibilities. One is like what you suggested, SW wanted to take it further, LW was not ready, hence "I am single" to express his disappointment,  then why would LW change her tone towards love when she has a guy so devoted to her? Was SW serious about leaving her alone due to her response?  or LW felt maybe the two of them might have some personality clashes (one is fast and one is slow...).  Another scenario could be SW is not ready to make a major commitment, so to be fair to LW or as an act of selflessness, he told LW that she could date if she meets someone she really likes... which could be a blow to LW who clearly is very into SW because it could signal he does not want her badly enough or is not completely confident he is the right guy for her. @moonee - maybe like you suggested, it was as simple as he could not spend enough time with her as she had traveled all the way accommodate his schedule during the height of fashion weeks (she sure made sacrifices...)

Both LW and SW have grown on me tremendously because of their personalities.  I also remain optimistic and hope they could ignore the outside noises and figure out what they want. Rooting for our couple!

All excellent points, but I doubt Siwon isn't ready for a major commitment. Remember the dinner with the father? No acting there, and when Siwon brought up the idea of getting engaged or something, I believed him. In fact, everything we saw on the show indicates Siwon is the type to move fast; Liu Wen is the exact opposite. I think he's trying to accommodate her now that he knows what sort of relationship suits her, but maybe he wants a major commitment from her before he enlists? I feel totally differently from you - he may want a very strong commitment from her before the enlistment, maybe even an engagement, so that he'll have a guarantee she won't look elsewhere while they're separated for two years.

Meanwhile, Liu Wen still wants to see how it goes and is testing the guy out with her slow and steady approach...Siwon gets a bit tired of that and hence we get the "I'm single" remark. Again, all these are completely uninformed reads by us, but mine would explain why I couldn't help feeling that Liu Wen had cooled off recently. If the reunion in Seoul was less than perfect, it could've been due simply to the fact that Siwon didn't have much time for the girlfriend because of his insane schedule.

  8. Just a thought, perhaps SW didn't spend enough time with her when she was in Seoul, which led to her feeling insecure, alone and lonely whilst being in a relationship? I don't know why I always have this feeling about LW -  despite of being a career minded, successful and strong woman, there is a certain part of her that feels cold, insecure and lonely..she really needs a certain someone to warm her heart up with care, love and tenderness.

I think she's very lonely. I'd been a fan of LW's for awhile, but I never realized this until watching the last episode of the show. A normal reaction to the show ending would've been a few sniffles, but the fact that she actually wept shocked me. That was no acting; she was truly heartbroken, and I don't think it's because she was madly in love with SW even. It's because she figured that a return to the lonely life awaited her, and the hope that this guy represented of a deliverance from such a life was just that, a hope and nothing more.

So, I know she's tough, but the dear heart needs to be taken care of, she needs that sense of security she's had to do without for ten years. There's tremendous potential for her to get hurt should this relationship go awry, which is why, like her friends, I worry. Thankfully, SW is a decent man who's fully aware of the role he's got to assume with LW ("Who will take care of you when I am gone?"). I just wonder if LW's slow and steady approach is starting to wear thin with SW, hence the "I'm single" remark. The last reunion in Seoul also struck me as perhaps not having gone too ideally.

  9. As ever, thanks to liddi and our newest contributor, deepblue_1, for your efforts. This thread would be truly dead without such folks, and they manage to unearth stuff I'd normally never see otherwise, like LW's recent EL promo shots...lovely.

LW's latest interviews are just...strange. They touch on her love life and her responses indicate she's in a relationship, so you'd think that, because of the show, the obvious follow-up question would be: Have you gone from reel to real with Siwon? But nope, nothing. The question seems to be deliberately avoided, so I can only surmise that it's still a conscious choice to neither confirm or deny. Saving that for Jan. 28th, perhaps?

And I really do hope she meets him before the enlistment. Just that simple confirmation would help to keep this thread alive through what will be a very long and dry period. It's been 2 days since her last IG update - surely she needn't have been in Taiwan for that long? Could she have quietly snuck off to Korea? Best keep our eyes peeled. As for Siwon, he will have time off during those 2 years, won't he? I hope that LW can meet up with him in those off periods, because it will be very taxing on the relationship if they literally can't see each other in person for 2 years straight.

  10. Celebrities usually have "vacation" time to spend with their families/friends/loved ones before enlisting. I don't know if Siwon will have that vacation time or he will just be a workaholic and take in works until his enlist date. During this hiatus, their pictures are mostly fan-taken or self-posted but we are well aware that paparazzi still follow them. They definitely won't want to get caught at this sensitive period, because any scandal involves enlistment (before, during, and after) would affect them in every other way (mostly bad.) *cough*

Some sources said that SM male celebrities have good relationship with Dispatch people (this is not clarified but seeing SM idols beside SNSD are rarely involved in any dating scandal, I will just pretend this is true..) I hope he will have a peaceful enlistment.

Since we all want them to meet up before he leaves for his service, I think it's best that they would post it on their SNS themselves, kind of a "friends-meet-up-wassup/we're-good-friends" (but who knows what's behind LOL) That would be safe for them, and it can satisfy 16 fans, non-fans, as well as the media.

Thanks for the further insight. From what you've said, I doubt we'll catch them meeting up, and I just can't picture them posting images of their meet-ups on SNS knowing the furor that would cause. If they want to meet up, they're going to have to do it so surreptitiously that they won't be caught, but if the paparazzi will be on Siwon's tail even before his enlistment, that may be next to impossible.

Liu Wen's likely in Beijing or maybe even her hometown right now, having a brief respite from all the activity she's been engaged in lately. Even she must need a rest from time to time to recharge her batteries. There'd be no point in visiting Korea at this moment as Siwon would have no time for her.

  11. I dont think we could expect any sighting from these two on or before the date of enlistment if they really want to keep things in private. Cameras in korea are all over the place everytime a celebrity is enlisting. And any female celebrity insight will result in a 'dating scandal' best example of that would be of Yunho and UEE.

Are the cameras everywhere only on the day of enlistment or even during a significant period of time before that? Either way, I can't see Liu Wen or Siwon being willing to be snapped by the paparazzi and have that kind of attention focused on their relationship, so maybe we shouldn't expect them to meet up, and if they don't, that shouldn't indicate the romance isn't still on. On balance, they'd probably figure that seeing each other virtually is good enough and will have to do.

For some young people in love, the need to be together physically before a long period of separation would outweigh any concerns about unwanted publicity or being chased by paparazzi - which category do Siwon and Liu Wen fall under, I wonder?

  12. Oh well.. i think its better for her to "sneaked off" after the drama filming is over. If she's in korea right now, siwon certainly  dont have too much time to spend  with her .. right @allnaturalcrunchtime_stv?..

As usual, we're of one mind, juzagurl. ;) I definitely never expected her to be in Korea right now, but closer to the enlistment date (which is when, exactly?). When does Siwon finish filming, anyway...we'll have to keep our eyes peeled then. If we receive clear-cut evidence that they never met up in the time window from the end of filming until the enlistment and Liu Wen is still in Asia at that time, I'd have my doubts about the relationship.

And deepblue_1, it's good to be the new bibidep in that you have and will continue (hint, hint) to provide us with marvelous new goodies like that EL video...my goodness, if I continue seeing stuff like that, I just may turn lezzie! :P However, if you begin to babble not only incoherently but irritatingly, I'll have to go into full-on beeyotch mode, so consider yourself warned. :P  So please don't turn...plus you're in Shanghai...we can't lose such a well-placed source!

  13. Ooh, looks like we have our new bibidep! Thrilling, ain't it? I'd better be on my best behavior so as not to scare this one off...::giggles::...

Great that she's back in the East - if she remains there until Siwon's enlistment, that bodes well for our couple. I wonder if she'll be able to sneak off quietly to Korea, and I'm torn about it; on the one hand, I wish them privacy, but on the other hand, if we don't hear of any meet-ups, we'll have precious little to sustain us. And like liddi, I don't put much stock into rumors of alleged sightings, either; as if Nosy Parkers who are asked not to leak photos would bother adhering to that request!

As for Liu Wen's team - yes, all of you kindly disperse back to your hometowns, please. I mean, I appreciate their taking care of her, but if she's by herself, that increases the likelihood of her spending some quality, one-on-one time with loverboy.

  14. It's just poking fun at the coincidence, nothing more. The thing about being a CP fan is to not get serious about everything, nor to read too much into everything.

Well, there's no way of telling that you were only joking in your previous post.

And there's no chance of me reading too much into anything - unless the connections or implications are made absolutely clear in social media posts, articles, etc., I discount them completely.

  15. Her post from this morning says "The sun is out, happy". The video is the same as the one she posted on INS. She's probably back in Beijing for a Staccato event this month.

    You thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?

This connection seems tenuous - I doubt that pic of hers is related to a post Siwon made a month ago.

Hmmmm so she is heading to beijing? Still dont understand  how to manage that kind of hectic schedule. . She pratically never stay in 1 country for at least 1 month? Not even 1 month.. whoa! Thumbs up for our girl!

I know. There aren't many top models who have the kind of schedule she does, but then there aren't many top models who are Asian, and since Liu is East Asian, that necessitates a lot of travel to that part of the world for work and personal reasons. So, Liu has to juggle travelling between the major fashion capitals in the West and Asia (they don't call it the Far East for nothing) whereas other models concentrate mainly only on the West.

  16. Nah, that can't compete with a customized, monogrammed bag from the artistic director of Louis Vuitton. :P I'll bet that Siwon sends Liu Wen lots of wonderful gifts we know nothing about, though. I can't imagine that Liu Wen would be giving even his sister such high-end gifts (Hermes, Tiffany's) if Siwon hadn't been equally as generous with Wen, if not more so.

I can't wait for Liu's collaboration with Nicolas; I hope that recent IG post of hers is a hint of things to come. I must say that she looks absolutely smashing in his clothes:

  17. Well, all these likes beg a good question - would those closest to Siwon be visiting the social media accounts and liking the posts of a friend he'd made working on a TV show that ended months ago? If they found out about our girl through Siwon, would the man rave about her to them if she's just a pal? Not very likely, is it? Or maybe they tuned into the show because Siwon was on it and became fans of Liu Wen as a result, so they now follow her avidly on social media?

And I notice Wen's agency posted a pic of her with some Korean celebrity at the Chanel show on their IG account - now, out of all the celebrities Wen was photographed with yesterday, why showcase a pic of her with a Korean star in particular? I know there's a Korean girl who works at the agency who posted on her IG asking for people to support her "big sister" just before LFIL started airing, so maybe she knows something we don't.

  18. @mywebfoot It's a relief that his hands are visually acceptable! Yes... as long as his hands meet her standard of beauty, that's all that matters :D

There is a dedicated Wen Li series "Wen Li Tour of Chanel" that is just released. Here is Ep1 "Liu Wen visits Chanel Paris' embroidery workshop":

    http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/-nV-wm_FAN0.html

which I have problems viewing, probably due to geographical location.

I hope that despite the release of the Chanel tour series, we will still get to see more of her trip to Seoul. I'm sure there is so much more to the city than just her introduction of the streets near the hotel :P

I hope you'll get to see the latest log, liddi, because it's one of her most adorable. She's just such a happy virus, and unfortunately no, that embroidered bracelet has no one's name on it.

And I hope she isn't too picky, because Siwon's fingers aren't his strong point (no bashing here). I noticed on the show that they're kind of short and stubby; Liu Wen's look longer, just like everything about her seems longer even though they're roughly the same height. No matter; the man has plenty to make up for it.

Lastly, what's this about sunflowers and how it means "I am and will be ONLY looking at you" in Korean? Got it off of Liu Wen's IG...

ETA: Ooh, looking sleek at Chanel! If that's the underage cellist Siwon was supposed to have been infatuated with, I think his heart won't be able to take it once he has a gander at that picture.

  19. Doesn't this remind you of someone who has been posting a lot about Autumn lately? "Autumn in Paris" captioning her photo with her back facing the photographer, and her Weibo's "喜欢秋天的叶子" (I love the autumn leaves) :phew:

Oh, you know, it could just be totally random or a complete coincidence. Hah! Emoticons won't suffice in this case; if I'd spoken that first sentence to you in person, you'd have seen my eyes roll so far back into my head that I'd go blind.

And a gorgeous bouquet for a gorgeous girl...how fitting! Can't wait to see her look at Chanel tomorrow...I do wonder how she's been occupying herself these past few days in Paris...up in a hot air balloon yesterday and keeping busy filming her show, perhaps? I must say that one does tend to get an ache in the heart if one has a lover and is alone in Paris, but hopefully Liu Wen's foster parents and ragtag band will keep her from feeling too lonesome.

  20. @allnaturalcrunchtime_stv - cool your jets a bit.  You know I ship these two hard. I am just bringing forward an alternative view, which is reasonable in my mind.  If you think Siwon actually sit there and count the number of figures to come up with an IG post, I think it is equally plausible that he read something, found it interesting and posted in on IG. ...  I think both views (16 reference) and the theory which talks about social relationships are plausible... let's just leave it there. peace.

You cool yours. I'm not calling you idiotic - you said in your previous post that some people are proposing a Six Degrees of Separation theory in relation to Siwon's post while discounting any sort of no. 16 reference as being totally random. Yes, to me, those people are being absolutely stupid by suggesting that.

And no offense, but I don't really care if you ship these two or not - if you bring forth a nonsensical theory into this thread, whether it be yours or someone else's, you should be prepared if someone shoots it down.

  21.

So it could be total random post.

Oh, that's just being stupid, in my honest opinion. He's so savvy about social media, he knows what's on everyone's minds right now, and an image featuring 16 figures (10 on one side, 6 on the other) is just a "total random post"? Nothing but a complete coincidence? Please! Siwon may just be messing around, but he clearly wants to bring to mind either Liu Wen or the relationship with that post.

And who are these "some people" you're referring to? Those immature youngsters on Weibo you promised yourself you'd ignore? If anything, their Six Degrees of Separation theory is laughably analytical; so, Siwon would take the time and effort to come up with that sort of reasoning for the post, but the no. 16 reference is completely unintentional? Idiotic!

  22. Wow, I didn't even bother counting until you guys mentioned it, but there's no way that's just a coincidence. 10 on the left, 6 on the right, and 16 overall. These two have been pretty overt with the number sixteen imagery in their recent SNS posts.

And there are still those who think they aren't together, corresponding everyday, and laughing behind our backs with all these in your face clues?

  23. A lot of selfie footage of Liu Wen walking the streets of Seoul - running around, spinning round and round. She introduces Korea's delicious food, saying she has been to Korea many times (??) but hasn't really had the chance to enjoy the food. She said walking in the middle of the street is not a good idea, so she finally moved into the pedestrian pathway, saying people probably thinks she has gone crazy. Then at the café, she kept stumbling over her words, but she said something interesting. Speaking to whoever is filming her, she said "Didn't you ask me to pretend that I am here by myself? If you said that just now, you did that to let me feel I am alone here, why did I pour this cup of water for you?" She looks flustered in this episode actually... not as assured as all the others that we've seen her in so far. Even the caption keeps saying "女神经病 Crazy girl" - a combination of the words "女神" (Goddess) and "神经病" (crazy). Wonder why? ;) Can't wait for the subsequent installments of the Seoul trip :)

Hmm...yeah, she seems a bit off in this log, but that could've been due to the jetlag. The flight from London to Seoul must've been killer, and she certainly looks dead tired. Does anyone know if these clips are previews of the full-length episodes to come, or are these what constitutes "WenLi" this season? Seems a waste to drag the whole team to multiple world cities when all that will be released are vids which aren't even 2 minutes long. It'll be good if there's more forthcoming as Liu Wen can't just be roaming around in circles on the streets of Seoul acting all cutesy for half an hour or more.

Oh, and their latest IG posts? Unrelated to either of them...but folks should continue reading the world into social media posts for the amusement of us sane-headed ones. :P

  24. Oh, please. They may truly be a couple and all, but I kind of resent it that every time she's pictured by herself in a vaguely moody setting, people automatically assume she must be lonely and sad.

Many girls find plenty of happiness being by themselves, thank you; not all need a precious Oppa by their side at all times to feel good.
