  1. So, I've just discovered that although Liu Wen may be a good girl in her real life, she can sex it up and play the bad girl quite adeptly too (making the no boyfriend refrain even harder to believe?!):

Not sure whether Siwon would be pissed or pleased that his girlfriend made such a list, LOL. I guess all the haters would be forwarding this video to him as evidence that Liu Wen is actually a scarlet woman and not at all the goody-two-shoes she makes herself out to be.

  2. After watching the latest episode, it cracks me up that there are still fans going, please be together for real, please be together for real...these two have spent thousands of their own money on one another, Siwon has introduced Wen to his family and co-workers, and people still think they are doing all this just for the show?! I don't know if it'll all work out in the end, but these two are definitely a real couple at the moment.

Anyway, this was the most heart-warming episode for me thus far - one of my favourite moments was when Siwon asked Wen, "Why are you so sweet?"...I felt like answering back, why do you think I adore this girl and have been such a big fan of hers for years?! Again, he reiterated in this episode how lucky he is to have her for a girlfriend, so it's just great to see that Siwon sees in Liu Wen what I've known about her all along.

As I've said before, I really hope their last episode has been filmed - they're together for real now, and it is sick and intrusive of us to pry into a relationship that should be developing in complete privacy.

One thing I'm still curious about that hasn't been addressed in anything I've seen and read so far is the reason why Siwon wanted to be on this show. It's obvious why Liu Wen did it (she's never been on a date or in a relationship before), and I think she signed on without knowing for sure who she would be paired up with as it was initially announced that she would be coupled with Jerry Yan. So, Siwon came on board later after Liu Wen had signed on; did he know he would be partnered with Liu Wen and is that why he agreed to do the show, because he wanted a chance to date her? And there was a strong sign that he knew who she was...remember in the first episode when she asked him (when they had first met) whether he likes girls to wear high heels, and he immediately answered, "Don't worry, I like Liu Wen"...that made it sound like he was a fan of hers even before they had met. And of course there was also that unaired part in which Leeteuk professed to being a fan of Liu Wen's - rather coincidental, don't you think? I think we can pretty much discount that sequence in which they played those Victoria's Secret clips for Siwon and made it all look so anticipatory; Siwon knew all along who he would be meeting that evening.

So, why did Siwon agree to do this show? I've hazarded guesses before but I'd still like to know for sure. Did he just jump at the chance to date Liu Wen? Did he finally want to be in a serious relationship and figured that a show like this would be the best avenue for him to do that? Or are the reasons totally different from those...for example, did he do the show for the money (but he's supposed to be so rich and are they even paid to be on this show?)...or did he do it to increase his popularity in China (although I don't see why he'd need to do that as he seems plenty popular in China already)...Anyone have any ideas?

  3. But don't you agree with me some guys will get boring from his girlfriend if she's always shy from any kind of skinships .... She must be thankful to siwon because he is very gentle ..she must be change  a little pit and being closer with him .... Maybe she likes him a lot she has feelings for him ... She always said he is handsome ....maybe she can't stand his handsomeness when he come closer to her or star at her ..... Omg if I am in her place I will faint

Oh, please. She's a supermodel who works out of NYC - I've seen campaigns she's done with male models who are way hotter than Siwon. Considering that she's in the fashion industry and frequently works with gorgeous people, I doubt she's much fazed by the attractiveness of anyone, male or female.

And I must be the only one who doesn't think Siwon is this Adonis everyone makes him out to be; he's certainly not bad-looking at all, but he's got a long, horsey face (that chin!), and a mouth that is almost ugly (it reminds me of Heath Ledger's as Joker in that Batman film). If Liu Wen was paired up with Takeshi Kaneshiro or Godfrey Gao (both are single and Gao is 6 feet 4 inches...swoon!), then I really would faint.

Everyone seems to be forgetting that traditional Chinese girls don't start kissing and petting their partners after having only met them for a number of times that you can count with both hands. I don't know how they handle that sort of thing in Korea, but that kind of approach is to be expected from really traditional, old-fashioned girls who come from small towns in mainland China.

  4. Very interesting piece on Liu Wen:

Someone needs to forward this to Siwon; if he had seen it, he would have known not to eat Liu Wen's noodles or ask her to dance! :D

What a revealing comment she makes near the end, though; does it spell hope for the Pomegranate Couple?

And although she looks naturally lovely even with minimal to no make-up, her style (as in here) can sometimes be a little too tomboyish; Siwon is right in trying to stamp that out of her! :P I guess the longer you go without a boyfriend, the more tomboyish you become! ;)

  5. I miss this thread. Had been sick for a long time so could only lurk but just had to spazz for the latest episode. I like that liu wen is stepping out of her comfort zone for siwon. glad they had that convo. Thanks for the subs. @bibidep...thanks for keeping us wonwen shippers in the loop and holding the fort for our thread even if we don't always post. Your updates are a godsend. But what do you think siwon ig message is with need more space and time with the dark alley and one street light mean. I tot he was the one rushing liu wen for a more positive response and liu wen posted a photo of the sky with one skylight and her announcement to got Europe and Cannes. Would siwon attend too? Wow. This two the feels are so real. But I think liu wen might need to be a Christian or at least learn about Christ. His previous girlfriend was also a deep Christian like him..if I am not mistaken it is Stella Kim and ex trainee with SM entertainment. She is pretty too.

As I said before, I think it's a bit delusional to think that everything these two post on social media has something to do with the other, either secretly or otherwise. They're busy people with all sorts of things going on in their lives, so we should bear that in mind when we put on our tinfoil hats.

And I doubt Liu Wen is Christian, but she is a traditional Chinese girl, and a lot of traditional Chinese (or East Asian) values are very much in line with Christian principles. I'll give you an example: I'm Christian, and I don't know too many supposedly 'Christian' girls who are or were virgins before marriage (and a Christian is supposed to be one up until his or her wedding night). There's also dutifulness, humility, filial piety, industriousness...all values that are very Chinese and very Christian, and one just can't help but be almost a 100% sure that Liu Wen exhibits all of those qualities in abundance. So, Liu Wen not being Christian may not be as big a barrier as we'd think, and that can eventually be worked on anyway - I won't be surprised if Siwon has already started, as we got hints of it on the show: he told her he is a Christian when they were in the car together, and there was also that unaired bit at the hotpot restaurant when he 'read' her and opined that she is not entirely happy in her life (in my experience, that sort of statement is always a prelude to a Christian taking baby steps to convert a non-believer). Siwon may even regard it as a challenge to convert Liu Wen as deeply Christian people are supposed to 'save' everyone that they can.

And if this Stella Kim really is Siwon's ex, I find it highly amusing that she has now started following Liu Wen's Instagram account. Not the typical behavior of exes, am I right? :P

  6. Following through from the Top Model video posted earlier, here's some more Liu Wen love:

For Coach - just gorgeous: https://vimeo.com/117131110

For Gap - when she appeared near the end of this video, I almost gasped; that's how good she looked:

    Again for Gap:

Looking so beautifully polished with Dree Hemingway for Esprit in Italy: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/RsFzGM6A6OU

For H&M; the longer version with Natasha Poly and Liya Kebede is on H&M's official channel:

And finally, showcasing that stunning smile and adorable personality in this profile from Videofashion:

  7. Liu Wen is just a...wonder. If you've seen her on catwalks or in photos, the image she projects is so fierce, so sexy, so glamorous; she looks like a woman who can do and get anything she wants (like all supermodels). And yet when you see her on the show, she's so shy, so painfully awkward that she can't even look a man in the eyes; she's just the polar opposite of the image we have of a supermodel. Think of people like Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista...such wild, hedonistic lifestyles, and totally in line with their professional personas. And then you have Liu Wen...such a good girl, so traditionally Chinese, who despite living in New York by herself has managed to hold true to her values and who obviously hasn't been corrupted by the temptations and pressures that New York and the modelling world have to offer. And believe me, I know of girls who've had traditional Asian upbringings, but the moment they make it out to the West by themselves, those values go right out the window. It's so easy to succumb, and yet Liu Wen has managed not to. What a rare jewel of a woman! I mean, supermodels don't grow on trees (let alone the first Asian supermodel), and she's young, she's rich, she's beautiful, she's successful in her chosen field; she could probably get nearly any man she wants (white, black, you name it) if she set out to, and yet she hasn't because of her values and how she was raised.

Now I almost don't want her to be with Siwon because such a perfect specimen of a woman should be with a male counterpart whom is just as idealized (and I'm not sure Siwon fits that mold).

Really, can you think of any other supermodel (and I hate to be this blunt but there's no other way to put it) who would be a virgin at the age of 27? My goodness, to most traditional Asian guys, Liu Wen must be the most immensely ideal woman!

  8. Slightly off-topic, but I discovered this song about/dedicated to Liu Wen by a German artist, Maximilan Hecker:

Quite hypnotic to listen to, and the lyrics are very evocative of the goddess herself. People need to make Siwon aware of this piece; perhaps he can identify with the lyrics and may even want to cover it in one of his concerts ;). I'd do it myself if I knew how to post on the popular social media platforms.

  9. I do think some of you read way too much into what these two are posting on their social media accounts...they are not trying to convey hidden meanings in everything they post...I don't think they have the time for that, LOL. Same with the bracelets thing...maybe they got some new ones to replace the old ones...maybe they've decided to retire the bracelets altogether because they've now reached a level of commitment in their relationship that they don't need them any more...who knows? My point is that we shouldn't be trying to read too much into what isn't there.

But I must say that I get a very strong impression (which has been affirmed by what we've actually seen on the show) that Siwon wants to move on to the next stage of the relationship much quicker than Liu Wen does. This is going off of my limited knowledge of him, but I get the feeling that as he's soon to turn 30, that he has to soon enlist in the army, that he wants to be at a certain stage in his life by a certain point in time. Liu Wen (and she herself has confirmed this in that recent Q&A she did) is the opposite, and this is understandable considering that this is her first relationship so she wants to take it slow and steady.

Also, the latest preview for episode 5 is so revealing and sheds so much new light on these two! And really, that can't all be scripted; that conversation on the couch has to be real as Liu Wen is a model after all, not an actress, and if all that was acting she should drop modelling right now and go into acting where she'd surely win an Oscar. So, what we can glean is that Siwon is unsure whether Liu Wen likes him; this is odd to us, the audience, because it's clear from what we see on the show that they both like each other! There must be some major miscommunication going on between them both. Also, Liu Wen "wants to do everything together" whereas I can only surmise that Siwon wants to be more down-low about the relationship because of the psychotic nutjob fans (get on Twitter to witness some of these freaks in action) - could this be why they finally attended those two events in Beijing together looking very much like a couple, at Liu Wen's insistence? And finally, we get that Liu Wen still feels that Siwon is too much into the 'Oppa can do everything' mode; she feels insecure and wants him to be more serious as she is always serious about everything.

I missed that crucial part at the end of the preview; try as I might, I can't make out what Siwon said (in English) right before "I'm sorry" - can someone who understands Chinese characters translate exactly what he said? The Chinese subtitles are given on a black screen as they're speaking in English.

  10. Hahah you seem very confident about their relationship.  I don't want to put my hope too high because I scare to fall down hahah.  Of course I will be very happy if they are in the relationship right now, I hope and wish them all the best.

I just read the message the main Weibo page from the show.  They had the picture of Siwon and Liu Wen cooking and the title message read like this:

    【小爱叫早安】如果你能解释为什么会喜欢一个人,那么这不是爱情,真正的爱情没有原因,你爱他,不知道为什么。让我们继续期待#石榴夫妇#的发展吧!请锁定江苏卫视#我们相爱吧#,一起感受他们的幸福!

    English translated by Bings:

"Little love called good morning to you" If you can explain why you like someone, then it isn't love, true love for no reason, you love him, don't know why. We continue to expect the development of the Liu couple # #! Lock the Jiangsu satellite TV we love #, feel their happiness together!
MOD EDIT: DO NOT QUOTE PICTURES!
    Credit to WeiboJSTV

I'm not confident of anything. However, it is clear that they are in a relationship; Siwon has mentioned in an interview and on his Weibo since the show began that Liu Wen is his girlfriend - unless you are saying that the devoutly Christian Choi Siwon is outright lying to the public just to publicize a TV show?

And as I mentioned before, Siwon would not be dragging his dad into this if the relationship wasn't serious - the Chois are not that type of family, from all that I've gathered.

No offense, but I sometimes wonder if anything I've written is getting through to some of you since English comprehension is obviously not your strong suits.

  11. If I'm not mistaken, Liu Wen said "Goodbye Seoul, raining again" on her post. She looked sad on that picture. I realise that the word "raining" has a secret meaning. In the episode 3, Liu wen asked Siwon why it always raining when they went out and Siwon said that it was raining because there were no hope for him. when the rain stopped, Siwon said happily that there were a little hope for him. I don't know why but suddenly I remember that scene when I read Liu wen's caption. Haha I'm sorry for my English. I wish for their happiness   wether together or not :)

You're reading way too much into it, LOL.

And Liu Wen does not live in London or Paris. She divides her time between Beijing and New York; I wouldn't be surprised if she spends more time in the latter city because her mother agency (The Society Management) is located there.

It is obvious that these two are in a relationship at the moment. They will have to work out the difficulties of being in a long-distance relationship, but countless couples do it all over the world and have survived, so I see no reason why Siwon and Liu Wen can't. Siwon spends most of his time in Asia while Liu Wen is in the West - it wouldn't surprise me if Siwon would be happy getting married as soon as possible (didn't he reference a friend who got married after only 3 months of dating in one of the episodes?) and Liu Wen can move to Seoul and be a full-time wife, but I don't think Liu Wen is ready to give up all she's got going at the moment. And what she's got going is substantial - she is the first supermodel from Asia and made 7 million USD in 2014 alone; she also evidently loves living in New York. But she also turns 30 in 3 years' time and modelling work starts to dry up from that point forwards, so maybe by then she'd seriously be considering transitioning into a role of full-time wife and mother (the only question is whom will she be assuming those roles alongside? ;)). One also has to consider that she is a traditional Chinese girl, and traditional Chinese girls remaining unmarried past the age of 30 is considered more highly unusual than not.

My guess is that Liu Wen will be visiting Siwon every time she goes back to Beijing (and she must do this fairly frequently because she has to visit with her parents who still live in Hunan province and with whom she is very close) - there'll likely be a lot of hopping back and forth between Beijing and Seoul but at least the distance isn't too far...poor girl, she has mentioned that she practically lives in airports, and her situation will be even worse now that she's in a long-distance relationship!

  12. Like I said so many many time before, I feel they are so real, not just for the show.  At the airport yesterday, both of them so emotional, they seem like miss each other miserable and just want to stay with each other.  No way just for filming because I never see any couple even the drama couple if they have a scene at the airport they don't even had the look longing to be with each other, and the skinship like Siwon and Liu Wen had.  Of course everyone come to this thread all want them to be a real life couple.   We just need may be 2 or 3 week to see if they still go to film the show or not.  If they still continue to film it then that's it, both Siwon and Liu Wen fall in love really really deep nothing else they can do but get marry for real.  I don't know both of them before, I heard the name Siwon but never watch any of his, hopefully what ever people said about him are true then Liu Wen will be very happy to marry and have a happy family with him.  They will be a couple that a lot of people talk about if they become husband and wife.   They have everything, the look, money and famous.

My goodness, you've gotten it all backwards...if anything, if it's real, they'll want to stop filming instead of continuing to 'fake' it for the cameras.

People don't fall deeply in love and get married on public television.

Right now, the way I look at it is that the show introduced them to each other, they got together over the course of the show's run, and whatever happens in the future (that's the 'fall deeply in love' and 'get married' parts, if either of those things should ever happen) will not play out in public view, which is as it should be.

I will say that Siwon must be serious about her if he took her to meet his father - from all that I've read about him and his family, they really are not the type to give us this glimpse into their 'inner world' just for publicity's sake or for whatever other reasons there may be.

  13. People's reactions to the show ending are hilarious. If they're an off-screen couple as well, the relationship will not end just because they've stopped filming new episodes.

I think it's quite obvious that they're going together 'in real life', and if that's the case, I'm glad that filming has ceased and that they'll now have the opportunity to develop their relationship privately. Love is not for public consumption, and it's quite sickening to think otherwise, really.

Why does everyone think they did this show? I've heard that Siwon, at the age of 29, feels it's high time he found someone, and Liu Wen has been saying for years in the press that she's never had a boyfriend. My knowledge about Siwon is not extensive, but if he really is as decent a guy as people make him out to be, I hope that Liu Wen has found the right guy and that they'll go on to live happily ever after.

Oh, and Liu Wen had to leave Seoul when she did because she has to be at the Cannes film festival, which, if I'm not mistaken, begins this week. I doubt it's by choice that she wants to be at Cannes; she's a very busy woman with contracts everywhere that may perhaps oblige her to attend the event.

  14. Don't break your heart, just a rumor....The scene good bye at the airport for Siwon and Liu Wen may be the end of the show.  Don't panic yet.  I already wonder in my previous post why they both feel so emotional like that, if they can meet each other again for the show.  It may end at 10 episodes.  I hope the rumor is not true.  Oh my how come it so short if it already the end.  I also heard that Siwon will shoot a new drama in June name Billion Dollar Heirs.  Again I don't know how true is this, don't blame on me hahah.

Um, if they have developed a real relationship (and everything seems to indicate they have), I would hope that the show ends as soon as possible. Having a camera in your face while you're experiencing what should be very private moments with your partner must be uncomfortable to the extreme. If you watch episode 3, you'll notice Siwon looking very annoyed when the dough-twirling guy barges in on him and Liu Wen while they're at the restaurant, and it's no wonder.

I'm sure Siwon and Liu Wen would have preferred that her meeting with Siwon's dad and their goodbye at the airport not be recorded, but they probably had no choice in the matter. I don't think those moments should have been filmed either, but what can you expect from mainland Chinese television?

Either way, real or not real, I just want my girl Liu Wen to be happy and not have her heart mislead or broken in any way.
