  1. So, those closest to Siwon are searching for Liu Wen posts on social media and liking them? Hmm...those individuals are certainly extraordinarily devoted to Siwon if she's just a friend, dontcha think? Someone please remind me again why there are those who still think that ours is a fake couple?

Seriously, though, shippers need to keep track of whether Jiwon has been consistently liking Liu Wen's posts, and update this thread every time she does. I'd do it myself if I could, as I think Jiwon's doing so is a good barometer of the status of our couple's relationship. Every time we start to lose hope, all we need is a new 'like' from Jiwon and we'll know, yeah, those lovebirds are still on. :P Either that, or JiWen shippers may be on to something after all. :D Even Mr. Chae's likes would be a pretty good indicator; in his case, he's actually been in the company of Liu Wen (he's in that skydiving photo of them on a plane), so he too may be in love with Liu Wen (who isn't?) and isn't liking her pics just because she's his best friend's girl.

And Liu Wen's latest shoot with Bazaar China is just precious - so demure, so Oriental, and very unlike the modern, sporty vibe she normally projects. Very nice to see that she can pull off the sort of look I associate with posters of painted ladies from 1930s Shanghai...this one is especially charming:

  2. Her response in the Femina interview tells me all I need to know, really. If you're single, why not just say so? She knows what the reporter is getting at, so just set things straight by saying no, no, Siwon and I aren't in a relationship, that was just for show. The fact that she's coy and sidesteps the question means she's being deliberately evasive, and it doesn't take an Einstein to figure out why.

And I sure do hope they can meet for Christmas, at least. I have to admire Liu Wen's willpower - if I was a supermodel in the prime of my life living alone in NYC, it'd be asking a lot for me not to look at another man for two whole years...and it wouldn't matter who I was waiting for.

  3. Yes, she looks fantastic!

I have been told not to rely on photo assumptions, however, her eyes are smiling here and there is a sense of calmness in her.  Feels like things are going well.

I meant to ask about your observation on the vibe Siwon gave this morning when he was bidding his farewells.  From the released videos, he seemed calm and even happy. Leeteuk mentioned the difference between Siwon's calmness and Changmin's nervousness in his IG post.

So between the independent appearances I am also inclined to believe that there is mutual agreement between these two and things are going strong.

This shade of blue looks particularly stunning on her.

I haven't seen the videos, but I wouldn't be suited to assessing Siwon because I'm not a follower of his and therefore can't 'read' him very well. I have however been 'observing' Liu Wen for a number of years now, and IMO she'd be the last person who could pretend and act all happy if she's feeling miserable - what you see is what you get with her. And don't think she need necessarily have her 'game face' on just because she's at a social event like this - I've seen plenty of celebrities on red carpets who look absolutely depressed to be there.

Siwon's "Will you wait for me?" post is key - I think even reasonable naysayers would have to admit that there's a good chance Liu Wen was on his mind when he posted that. If he was asking that question of his fans, why utilize the imagery of a ring? Rings are indelibly symbolic of the bond between two lovers, and a Piaget ring especially would be linked to Siwon and Liu Wen because of LFIL. In my mind, the post came right after an extensive and possibly final FaceTime session with Liu Wen - the timing of the post allowed for the time zone disparity, didn't it? :P

  4. Liu Wen's latest IG update:

    12071059_1523135418002396_733880675_n.jp

Looking freaking gorgeous, and I guess that answers our question about whether she was in Seoul with Siwon. This event was held last night.

She looks happy, and I am heartened by that; for a girl who wears her heart on her sleeve, I think that if things weren't going well with Siwon and considering his imminent enlistment, she wouldn't appear so glowing.

I'm sure farewells and terms of endearment were exchanged over FaceTime.

  5. @liddi I thought someone ran into LW in NYC a few days ago?

That was a couple of days before the 19th. It would've been cutting it close, but it isn't inconceivable that LW made it to Seoul soon enough to spend at least the last two days with SW. I doubt that happened, but it isn't impossible. The fact that she traveled to NY alone without her manager is in itself suspicious, as we have photographic evidence that Ms. Ren is frequently with her even in NY...and that includes shopping at Ikea!

And just because she wasn't at the send-off doesn't mean she can't be in Seoul; after all, SW's family members weren't at the send-off today either, were they?

  6. There are now Einsteins on Liu Wen's IG congratulating her for being free...yes, because before his enlistment, Siwon was constantly at Liu Wen's side with a gun to her head forcing her to be with him, right? Morons! Why can't their diehards realize that SW & LW are fully functional adults who are quite capable of making sound judgments as to a choice of mate without our valuable input? If they're with each other, it's because they've determined that either one is a darn good catch, and who are we to second-guess them?

  7. Aww, bye Siwon! Take care of yourself! Interesting that he's adorkable even heading into what I'm assuming will be a very sober experience. I think he will emerge out of this a very different man...from what I saw of him on LFIL, one can tell he's...long been living the life of an idol.

I guess the training shouldn't be too bad...he'll be indoors the entire time, won't he? If it's anything like the experience in North Korea...:o   ! And will his SNSs be totally inactive for the next two years...maybe someone close to him can post updates in his stead?

Didn't seriously expect Liu Wen to be at the send-off and of course she won't say anything about all this, but I still can't help wondering what her thoughts are at this time. Now that I've seen photos of the send-off, I'm glad she wasn't there - she would've been totally out of place given the situation and the folks who were there.

  8. @allnaturalcrunchtime_stv - I should have been clearer, Siwon's initial "Will you wait for me?" IG and Weibo posts did not reference Piaget, he added Piaget reference later, on Weibo, he deleted it three times and settled on the last one with reference to Piaget in both English and Chinese.  So it is safe to say his real message is "will you wait for me" and all that Piaget reference is just smoke and mirrors.

I think he is posting this for fans to see, i.e. he knows the answer or is confident about the answer... the fact that he chose that particular picture makes me think there is more to just asking someone (LW) to wait. If he is not sure about LW's answer and asking in social media, then I think the relationship is not as advanced .. also, why does he wait until the day before he enlists to ask...wouldn't he want to know at least a few weeks before he enlists so he knows what to do once he gets inside....

Liu Wen did update her Weibo yesterday at 20:16 with that Autumn tree grows bread and banana slices post... people think the time rhymes with "love you, 16"...

Just so you know - there is some chaos going on right now on Weibo. Oh Yang Nana - Siwon's 15 year old co-star in "To the fore" replied to SW's Good night world post with "I will wait for you for two years...." man, she is attacked by a couple of 16 fans... my take is that she said what every other fan has been saying "I will wait for you" but because of past controversy, her comment is being interpreted with a lot of bias.  She is only 15, we can't really expect her to act like an adult, poor girl.  Also, some fans are asking why LW kept quiet...  If I were LW, I would stay quiet too because whatever she says now will receive fan backlashes.

Thanks for clearing that up. "Will you wait for me?" minus the Piaget reference makes it even likelier that he's talking about Liu Wen although the intended effect is conveyed even with the reference. I really don't think he uses social media to ask Liu Wen anything; if he does, that would mean there's little to no private communication between them. If that is absent, there can be no relationship, and none of us believes that to be true at this point, do we? Anyway, he stated in his latest major interview that Liu Wen is "someone he knows very well" or something to that effect, and he can't possibly claim that solely by virtue of the fact that he worked with her on LFIL. Trust me, these two talk to each other all the time. Oh, to be flies on their walls! :P

Hmm...and are you suggesting that in asking her to more than just wait, he's asked her an even bigger question...like a marriage proposal, maybe? :D The ring imagery certainly lends credence to that idea, doesn't it? With all his recent talk of marriage and kids, I don't think the possibility that they're betrothed or engaged in some way is entirely far-fetched...certainly, their rings would be testament to that sort of commitment.

And no offence to Weibo users, but I don't think Liu Wen is fussed enough to encrypt hidden rhymes into her SNS posts. That 15-year-old co-star thing is just sick...yeah, I'm sure she's assuring Siwon that she'll wait for him another two years when she'll be 17 AND STILL NOT EVEN LEGAL! Sick! Do these idiots even realize what they're intimating about Siwon by getting angry that he could possibly be pining for an underage co-star? My impression of Siwon is that he likes his lassies to be pure and virginal (our supermodel certainly fits the bill), but I don't think that desire extends so far that he'd be into pedophilia. I repeat...sick!

Considering the timing of Liu Wen's latest IG update with that lovely illustration of her, she must still be in NY. Sigh...it looks like we won't get a send-off straight out of the movies, and you're right, Liu Wen is being a smart cookie by keeping shut about anything Siwon-related at this time. People who think she should say something are moronic for expecting she'd be that stupid.

D-Day is almost upon us...much love and many hugs to Siwon and all his sane fans! I'm sure he's privately received love and hugs from the only one who really matters, too!

  9. Very obvious post from Siwon, that. They must communicate privately so it can't be for Liu Wen's benefit - could it be a nod to shippers who are worried that the relationship won't survive his enlistment? Or who knows, maybe Liu Wen does like it when he makes veiled but public references to her like that. I think it's safe to say that if he's asking his fans if they'll wait for him, he wouldn't be so conflicted about making that post and deleting it several times before finally leaving it out there. He knows what we'll all be thinking and he's decided that he's okay with it, which is wonderful. No doubt some deluded twits will still think he's whispering that question right into their ears, though.

And who is this girl he's just started following on Twitter? Is it Liu Wen? As for "He had a number of drafts without the #s before he settled on the current post" - what exactly are you referring to, Kculturefun? Sorry for my cluelessness.

Liu Wen's now been gone from IG for 5 whole days, and I think we can guess why that is. She's waiting for the shitestorm to die down once Siwon is safely tucked away, ain't she? Is there still absolutely no chance that she'll be there to see loverboy off tomorrow?

  10. Yes, the recent posts definitely help brighten our mood... by the way, LW "commented" on her manager's husband weibo by @ her and including three smiley faces.. her managers also responded by smiley faces too.... so seems to me that this weibo is either a PDA between a husband and wife... or he is trying to kill two birds with one stone...  he frequently reads "Mun+Won" weibo and knows the fans very well and how imaginative they can be... so at least he is not afraid of the fans going delulu with his post., a positive sign.

Thanks for mentioning this. Given all the tie-ins, I doubt the manager's husband posted that as just a random PDA to his wife...he must've known connections would immediately be made to SW & LW. The fact that LW responded in the way she did is even more suspect. Completely delulu here...but SW had to have been included in the group of people that this ad was circulated amongst.

There's also the very obvious connection with the couple in the ad exchanging rings and the husband's comment that they belonged together the moment they did that...now, what does that remind everyone of? I'm sure a number of things were staged on LFIL, but that very last sequence in the final episode is one that I always felt was authentic and completely SW's idea.

And thanks for letting me know what "Lao Gong" means...I remember the subtitles indicating that SW referred to himself as LW's husband in one of the LFIL episodes! Another reason to ship this couple...hanging out in this thread and watching the show has increased my Mandarin exponentially!

  11. Yes, thanks for that update, Kculturefun. With the news that Liu Wen's been receiving all this hate, one is apt to get depressed at how pathetic certain women can be. There's also a strong likelihood that Liu Wen is still in NY, seeing as her update was posted on 20:16 China time which should be in the a.m. in NY, and bread and bananas is likely a breakfast meal (for models, anyway!). So yeah, we're in some need of cheering up.

Those updates from Liu Wen's associates are certainly suggestive, especially the one from the manager's husband. The obvious connection is that SW & LW have no need to make an announcement as long as they know what's between them...very timely considering many are clamoring for a confirmation before Siwon enlists. I couldn't understand a word said in the ad, but that couple's behavior is exactly how I picture SW & LW to be when they're alone together based on what we saw in the latter episodes of LFIL. You know, the familiarity, almost like they've been together or married for years. I've a feeling that they're further along in their relationship than we'd ever suspect, and that they're sure of each other as a life partner. I didn't watch Siwon's latest televised interview, but in it didn't he suggest that he'd be married with kids in the not too distant future? Assuming the person he has in mind to do those things with is Liu Wen (and the shout-outs to her on his show are a little incongruous if she's just a friend), that would likely indicate the relationship is stronger than perhaps we even realize.

  12. Why on earth she'd be getting hate is beyond me...these frustrated females are just pathetic. For all intents and purposes, Liu Wen has been staying away from Siwon for goodness knows how long, even at this crucial time of his enlistment, so that should make the Siwon freaks happy. If anything, I would think it'd be Siwon who'd get some grief from Liu Wen or 16 fans for not inviting her over (especially now) when she was in Asia for so long. Of course, it's imaginable that he did do so but she didn't reciprocate...

Frankly, if I were Liu Wen I'd completely cut myself off from the online brouhaha and jolly well visit him if we're both agreeable to it...those contemptible members of the (in this case, truly!) weaker sex can just stew in their rotten juices for all I care. If it leads to a rash of suicides, even better. Now that we've heard of this online reaction and stories of lowlifes actually staking out Siwon's house, I guess we can understand why they've chosen not to be together at this time. At least, I hope those are the reasons for them not meeting up as the alternatives aren't very pleasant to consider...

  13. Siwon seems to be meeting up with everyone before he enlists that I'm almost starting to wonder if Liu Wen really is in Seoul, carefully hidden away at this time. Maybe the IPhone 6 thing is a ruse?

Love the Marie Claire video of her; it's more pensive than what she normally shoots. Can't view the Armani vid, unfortunately. And I  that post of her with the SEA lady; time and again, my positive feelings re: Ms. Liu are confirmed by practically everyone who meets her. How I'd love the opportunity to do so one day!

And as for identifying with a French bulldog...I don't know why, but that line cracked me up when I first read it! No offence meant, liddi, and I can't really identify with you and other ELFs, but hugs to you and them through this difficult time!

  14. @allnaturalcrunchtime_stv Then I would have to ask whether the real priority (assuming we still believe they are in a relationship) is to assuage shippers' curiosity, or act in accordance with what they feel to be the right thing at the right time. Do they really have an obligation to let anyone know anything, seeing it is their lives, and not anyone else's? As you say, granted perhaps she won't be flying to Seoul right now. If not, I do not really see that as a problem, seeing it is already established she can meet him after the military training, when there is a lot less constraint on time, and definitely much less public scrutiny, if public scrutiny is what they wish to avoid at this point in time. Perhaps you are talking about what is likelier to have happened, while I am operating on what could have happened, given the blackouts. Case in point being, until someone spotted her at Incheon by chance, did anyone really know she was flying there? I highly doubt it. And how many knew she flew to SEA, when there wasn't even any reports of it until 雯疯而动 posted photos of her there.

Either way, it is anyone's prerogative if they decide to be disappointed over evident lack of meet-ups right now. For me, that is the least of my concerns because I know what is possible in spite of what we can see. Rather I am now working through the process of already missing the man as the deadline looms nearer, knowing that unless something unexpected happens, there will be a period of quiet on this ship.

Oh no, not at all, I don't think they owe us any answers; to even expect any is just sick, quite frankly. That's the way hardcore ELFs think, and no one would want to be compared with those sad, sad groupies.

Let's put it this way: I'd like to know they have met up without there being any sort of public admission from either of them. If they want to drop a hint or two on IG, lovely, but I don't require that. Maybe a sighting or two by alert passersby, that's all I really need. No paparazzi snaps or anything like that - it isn't a revolutionary idea for shippers to want to know what's up with our couple while respecting their privacy and not placing any demands on them at the same time.

And considering it's pretty definite that they couldn't have met up while Siwon was working on the show because of his insane schedule AND that we've had concrete reports of what they've been up to ever since he wrapped filming (which wasn't that long ago), I think it's safe to say that there hasn't been a reunion since H&M. You choose to believe that there might've been while I don't; I guess you're right that those are our prerogatives. I'm certainly not wringing my hands because there'll be no meet-up before the 19th, but it isn't extraordinary for shippers to be a little disappointed that one didn't take place sooner rather than later.

  15. @ssone00 The Piaget Possession prize is the ring that was featured in the CF... the one he was spinning around, not the one he wore.

And it seems premature to say that they will or will not meet since there are still 5 days to go, or presume they have not met before this, especially when she was in the region for so long and had a blackout of a few days at different times... when she was ostentatiously in Beijing, and another when she was in SEA.  Perhaps he is winding down all his other obligations so that he can have the rest of the time with the ones he cherish the most. We definitely do not know what is going on behind the scenes, but I will say that only she herself can determine whether it is worth all the perseverance. Besides, can one really say that perseverance is only on her part alone?  If they weren't serious, what can one conclude from all the shoutouts he has been giving?

Regardless, only they know what they can accept for the sake of a relationship. We can only support them, whatever the outcome. Her not being publicly seen with him is not an issue for me at this point in time. My concern is that they are able to weather the 2-year separation and still see their relationship remaining strong, or even stronger than before.

Um, I find it a wee bit improbable that she'd make the arduous flight from Beijing to NYC and then not even a week later, follow it up with a trip from NYC to Seoul. If she wanted to visit him, she'd have done so from Beijing seeing as she only just left China and the timing would've been perfect considering the enlistment is next week. Of course, it is premature to say with absolute certainty that she won't visit him within the next 5 days (we'd do anything for love, won't we?), but we're talking about what's more likely here.

And I have never considered the possibility that she might've surreptitiously met up with him all this time she's been in Asia simply because people seem to be so aware of her whereabouts and travelling plans. If she managed to see him on the down low without us becoming aware of it, that's wonderful, but again we're talking about what's likelier to have happened than not.

I don't even presume to know whether the relationship is worth persevering for because we know nothing about their thoughts and feelings, but as shippers I don't think it's asking too much to want to at least know that they have met up prior to his enlistment.

  16. Hmm...so she is in the US for certain? She seems to be in a Parisian state of mind recently, doesn't she? Today, understandably, but even the previous days' IG posts are all Paris-related.

I think it's now highly unlikely that they'll meet before the 19th. I know they don't have to reunite before then seeing as they'll probably be able to do so even before the year is over, but Liu Wen's absence is conspicuous. Here Siwon is squeezing time in for his nearest and dearest before an extra long break, and his girlfriend is nowhere to be found. They may want to avoid meeting now because that is what everyone expects them to do, but I would think the want or need to be together would outweigh any such concerns.

It's very hard for us to make informed comments because we're on the outside looking in and we have no idea what kind of arrangement they've worked out between them, but from our vantage point the recent developments have been disappointing to say the least.

  17. apparently someone took the time to actually look for scheduled flights from beijing to NYC. And there is no direct flight from beijing to NYC. Hmmmmmm

Wow, really? I find it a little hard to believe that there are no direct daily flights between two of the most major cities in the world. Perhaps they're just referring to Air China or something? Who is the source of the info that she flew to NYC, anyway? If it's her manager or anyone affiliated with LW's team, would he or she actually lie to provide a smokescreen for LW? I find it incredible that people are seemingly able to keep daily tabs on LW who's hardly a major celebrity.

But VIETtrue, you're right in that it is suspicious that Ms. Ren did not travel with her - that woman follows LW around everywhere. Let's keep hoping...if there's a cheery snap from NYC on LW's IG tomorrow, that'll be a hard knockback down to earth for us.

  18. She looked just gorgeous at yesterday's event, almost like a mannequin. Even without understanding Mandarin, it's very easy to tell when she was asked a question about Siwon in that interview clip, and her reaction in unguarded moments like those indicate to me that there is a relationship going on. I think her face and reaction would have read quite differently if there was truly nothing between them. I'm very interested in what the man next to her was saying - who is he and what exactly were their subsequent exchanges about? liddi, please help! :P

And yes, it is disappointing if she has flown back to NYC. I doubt with less than a week to go until his enlistment that she'll be making an insane flight from NYC to Seoul just to see him off. If she were to do that, she would be doing it from Beijing to Seoul rather than from the other side of the world. Just delulu guesswork, of course, but I can't help feeling that she remained in Asia for so long because she was waiting to see if he would call on her to visit him before he enlists. I hope she didn't end up disappointed!

If they couldn't meet up at all in the next two years due to restrictions on Siwon AND there is no immediate meeting prior to enlistment, I would have serious doubts about the relationship. Thankfully, based on reports on how free and easy Siwon will have it, there'll be plenty of opportunities for them to reunite even after he enlists. I wonder...is it possible that LW's flight to NYC is a smokescreen and that she's really flown to somewhere else?

  19. Hi @allnaturalcrunchtime_stv, I really enjoy ur writing. I would love to read ur comment/analysis again

Why thank you. Unfortunately, there isn't enough to go on these days for us to get as heated and delulu as we did back when the show was still airing. Oh, how I miss those crazy days! There was such anticipation...I've never shipped a real life couple before ever and am hardly the sort who's inclined to do so, which just goes to show you how authentically these two seemed to fall for each other. I've got to admit, I'll be extremely peeved if it turns out they were faking it all along as I've got a lot riding on this ship seeing as how utterly convinced they've gotten me.

Not to worry, though; there'll soon be plenty to squeal over come CNY next year. You just know there will be videos released in conjunction with that H&M campaign, and those will be enough to leave us with a happy glow for a couple of months at least. ;)

As for their latest activities...I don't think Liu Wen has ever remained in Asia for as long as she currently has. Her mother agency must be a tad ticked off at her for they would have a couple of jobs lined up for her at least if she were in NY. I can only think that she's staying where she is for personal reasons, and what does everyone think those reasons could be? If I had to guess, I'd say she's sort of 'on call' for a certain someone...the only question is when that someone is going to call on her. If Siwon is going to be busy up until the 17th, that only leaves two days in which he'll be free to be with her. I know they don't have to meet up before the 19th seeing as how lax the restrictions of his military service are, but it would be a bit odd if his girlfriend isn't included in the group of people he has to spend time with on those last two days.

  20. Much thanks for the latest translations, liddi. Must've been an awful lot of work, all just to give us a better glimpse into the inner workings of Ms. Liu. How reassuring to see that she's exactly like how I've always thought she is!

And I've read about China's Single's Day in the news...the money to be spent online on this day makes Christmas for Westerners look like chicken feed. Siwon's 'love' posts on IG are very suspiciously timed, so you may be on to something, liuwensiwon. Thank goodness for those and the shout-outs on his show which provide further confirmation of the relationship, or we'd be feeling very pessimistic as the enlistment date draws nearer.

  21. Good for Siwon. Just a guess, but I'm thinking this appointment will score major points with Liu Wen; after all, it stands to reason that good girls will like good boys engaged in good, wholesome activities. ;)

It would be wonderful if Liu Wen could be roped in as an ambassador as well - we've already seen Siwon involving her in charitable deeds such as that goodwill trip to the school and the donation of personalized items to UNICEF. If they're both special representatives, that would mean more opportunities for them to publicly get together and enforce the comparison with Jolie and Pitt as the East Asian celebrity power couple who bring attention to the plight of underprivileged children everywhere.

And she's such a darling in that latest preview for Wen Li! I doubt we'll see anything more from Seoul...that sojourn hits a little too close to home!

  22. Looking fresh and vibrant in those H&M shots...now we know what she was shooting recently with Andreea and Edita.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show begins in just one or two days, and at least two Asian models (Sui He and Ming Xi) will be participating. I hear that Ming Xi will be getting 'wings' (not sure about Sui He); if so, I suppose she will be the first Asian model who can properly be called a VS Angel? I'm not a fan of Xi at all, and it bums me out a bit that Liu never became a full-fledged Angel even though she was the first Asian girl to walk for VS, but I'm sure her contract with La Perla is far more lucrative. It's kind of a funny coincidence that Liu will probably be attending the La Perla event on the same day that the VS Fashion Show is held.

Now let's just hope Siwon doesn't fly straight back to Seoul once he's done in L.A....it wouldn't be asking too much for you to first make a detour to Beijing, would it, Mr. Choi?
