@kokodus I concur. I also feel that Jeong Won just naturally glanced around and noticed a hungry junior, so he handed her the food she seems to be craving. His reactions afterward didn't really give out any special vibe. And Dr. Jang is still clueless after 3 years of residency and going back and forth between ER and the surgery room
. And Dr. Bae too. I hope she realised it when she took the boy to the x-ray room. It was plain clear to Jeong Won for the first kid that this is not just a falling incident. The seriousness of the pain indicated something else. He didn't get to check further due to the call to the surgery room. The second time, he took action. He is his usual self, a professor in PED listening and giving out advice, even with Dr. Jang following around. No choice, she is the only resident for the GS team. Nice job PD-Writer nim. Not gonna fall for that trick though. *wink* (I am so gonna pray hard that PD-Writer-nim not going to make me eat my own words, Amen!)
As earlier predicted, Captain Ahn will join Dr. Bong's gossip salon. Aigoo, another theory of mine, this club and its members are the mechanism in which to further lay out the backgrounds of our fabulous 'lacking' 5. They will be there to tell the stories.
I also agree that the past crushes between the five. My guesses are:
1. SHwa crushing on Ik Jun - JWon knew, retreated
2. JWan crushing on SHwa - done nothing, fear of being rejected, knew that SHwa crushing on Ik Jun
3. SHyeong crushing on SHwa - rejected
4. JWon crushing on SHwa - SHyeong knew
Looking forward to SHwa decision whether she wanna accept Captain Ahn or not. This is gonna be interesting.
Oh, can I want Seok Hyeong to be with his long-haired resident? I like the way she speaks and carries herself. Plus she said she likes his introverted self, just as he is, in 3 ep. when they ambushed his weekend coffee break.
To our resident soompier doctor, @euisaimnida,
I also think that VIP or his son have got something to do with Seok Hyeong sister's death. We will see if that's the case.

This episode give me so much butterflies and cracks. Can I just spread my love to:
1. Ik Sun for just being awesome and awestruck JWan in one scene. (I am loving this girl at first sight, how can't JWan?)
2. Uju for his cutie genius. This kid is really growing up well. Good job Ik Jun!
3. Song Hwa for her craziness. This girl sure has a lot more charms than she already shows.
4. Jeong Won's mom for taking our side by throwing him and his dream under the bus bwahahahaha.
And last but not least, showing love for Seok Hyeong for his empathy towards the young mother and his own mom. This is a heart-tugging one.
Next is mission to reveal the target of ones heart for each of them. JWan has taken the first move. How about the rest? *drum roll*
@kokodus I think because Ik Sun is so spot on and fearless. JWan appreciates that and he can relate. Love is in the air...

It seems this writer-pd duo may have taken a new approach after all.
About JWon, IJ said they never saw him with any girl but JWon is said to have experience a budding love. How very secretive can one be, even with his/her long-time besties? Is it normal?

After finishing ep 3, I am having a nervous breakdown. JWon for priesthood is just, such a waste
for the ladies.... Is PD nim really going to that route in making him the Fiery Priest 2 - Awakening of Ahn Jeong Won? Ice cream, I need Ice cream.
Seeing Dr. Jang with her crushing over JWon reminded me of my younger self. The butterflies that came by just staring at his photos, and embarassment of a rejection still feel very much real. I can't watch this, aigoo...
IJ is really having it the hardest this time.
But he really held it well, not letting it disturbed his surgery. He will bounce back. Go IJ!
I am intrigued to see if SHwa will accept Captain Ahn, him being her resident. Given her personality and professionally wise, she may not. But this pd-writer duo are venturing into new theme i.e. resident-associate/assistant professor love, as mentioned by @euisaimnida, welcome dear! So there is high possibility for changes. Even JWan in his 40s is shown as finally mending his rough ways as circumstance goes. I can't speculate anymore. I think my brain is not working now due to JWon priesthood news. My mind needs to recalibrate. The puzzle is just growing bigger. 7 more days to next Thursday? Aigooo... I pray for survival, amen.

@habromanic tell me about it! I marathon the whole drama and I cried buckets for Chilbong when the sun shine again. Heartbreaks!
I just love SHwa. She is so petite yet very strong in and out. The kind of female I always thought of, who has control over her own feelings; either you want to breakdown and cry forever or keep your head up and stand strong, your choice. She can fall in love, be in a relationship. When things didn't work out she chose to move on instead of living in denial and frustration. I have a feeling her past love ended in good terms. I hope it did and it is the reason that inspired her to become such a passionate doctor.
Oh by the way, Jwon being said as running out of time ... I am super curious what could be the reason. You can be a priest at any age right? Even when you past 50? I watched Hyena and the FL's father became pastor when he was released from jail. So what could be the reason for running out of time? His mother giving him an ultimatum?
And anyone notice that Jwan and Shwa are Associate and the rest just Assistant Prof. I thought IJ should be an associate too, looking at his career profile being fast in getting promoted. Hmmmm ~~

I remember reading Jwon description about his love in his 20s that he let go. Is it possible Shwa and Jwon were an item before and had come to term, continue to be friends instead? SHwa may no longer want to get a boyfriend may also be because she knows Jwon would not have gotten married too? But Jwan existence may change her to accepting a marriage life. Wah, puzzle, puzzle.... this is why this drama is really just my cup of tea. I can never make a good guess of what's next. Awesome pd and writer combo!

I keep going back to that Ep 3 preview. I dunno why, that guy that Dr. Jang is sitting next to more and more seems like Ik Jun. Super curious who he might be. Is this the dilemma he will be facing next? Maybe he is estranged with his wife and his friends don't know yet.

The gift, it reminds me of an interview YYS had when asked about what he would give as a gift. He said that to consider what the person really needs and giving that as a gift, wouldn't it be more meaningful.

On second watch, I am seeing these possibilities:
1. The NS head nurse bought the shoes, could possibly also be the twins
2. Based on @Ameera Ali post above, when asked,
- Shwa was looking at JWon
- JWan is clueless
- JWon , something is in his mind, look up and met Shwa eyes
- Shwa avoiding JWon eyes and quickly turn to IJ
- IJ is also clueless
Did Jwon and Shwa have a thing in the past that the others don't know?
3. Jwon's mom is on scheming mode and has roped in Chairman Ju to help her get her youngest son to walk the aisle and produce the much awaited heir to the family. She may have also do that for the remaining bachelors and bachelorette. Perhaps, Shyeong's assistance has also been included in her grand scheme.
4. Jwon may have a new secret admirer.
By the way, I really love how Shwa handled the issue with her chief resident. Despite them having a close relationship, she was not reluctant to put him in place, told him where he did wrong, made sure he did not repeat it again and still maintain the respect he has for her. A good leader quality there. I also think she took the chance to pay back for the 'ghost' nickname ...hehehe, inadvertently.
I am ok with the introduction of many medical staff characters so far. I want to know more of the backstory of Dr. Jang, Captain Ahn (he could also be the possible love interest for Dr. Jang), and Dr. Do (still remembers him from Beautiful Mind ^_^).
I want another feisty female doctor who can silence Jwan with just a stare or her words. Someone who will make him fall head over heels with just that. Ahhh, I am rooting for that day.
For next ep, I think something is happening and it relates to IJ's wife. A divorce, a scandal? Owhhh, it's hurting to just think about the possibilities. Aigoo, counting days start again....

From this ep, it seems unlikely that JWon has a crush on SHwa. Since she is the only girl in the group, he may have naturally shown his caring nature towards her more than the other guys. Perhaps he is the one who bought the shoes since he notices such tiny details. Or it could be SHyeong. I think JWon may have developed an interest towards the stiff lady doctor, Dr. Jeong, though. But I also think she likes someone else. From the back image of Dr. Jeong and the guy doctor (Is it the ER doctor? One that operated on SHwa's father.), it doesn't look like Jwon, the back hair is different. But the guy is tall. And maybe Jwan has feelings for SHwa, or that he just realized it. I think SHyeong throwing the bomb about his past confession kinda like to see reactions of the other guys. Maybe he is still hoping? Or maybe he knew something and want SHwa to be alert too?
Ik Jun as Shwa past interest? I have an inkling that is the case but obviously he fell for someone else.

Thank you for sharing the review. It's really a good review. There are definitely a number of subtleties going on in the drama. The expressions of Seon Hwa when she read the news and the sms were both showing too concern and as if something is bugging her mind. Jeon Mido did really well in those scenes. I wish I knew what were she thinking in those moments. Tomorrow is Thursday, yeay!

80 min+ per episode is such a treat. Idk why but it feels like even if it just 1 episode per week but the duration makes up for it and i am fine with it.

I also have accepted the 1 ep /week format. I have Hi Bye Mama and Tell me what you saw to fill up the weekends and also The Cursed and Hyena for weekdays. There isn't so much time that I am able to spend for kdrama cos I have started preparing for exam in June. So, this is fine with me.
I kinda feel that either Ik Jun, Jeong Won or Jun Wan may have some feelings for/past history with Seong Hwa. Maybe they all had a crush on her and she kinda friend-zoning them one by one. I wanna see their failed attempts

What Jeong Won did with the position, power and money presented upon him was, being cheeky by getting his mom to let him do what he want, bargaining with the new Chairman and putting his plan into motion i.e one that doesn't involve him being the Chairman - & carry all the responsibilities & headaches that come with it - but one that will get him the fund he needs. Brilliant!
And I am loving the others as well. I am lost for words. I love to see backstory of JunWon & Ikjun. I felt that these two have lotsa mischief under their belts, nerdie looks notwithstanding!

I went to YYS musical last Jan. I am really impressed by his vocal. I think it gets better from his stage performance during JYP Party People.

@ck1Oz I agree. I am watching on Netflix and from my understanding of day-to-day Korean I noticed about the subbing as well. For example, that last sentence from JeongWon on the second case of abused kid. I think it means differently than what is shown as the translation.
I am also really impressed by these actors and actress on their musical ability and determination. I am not sure about Kim Dae Myeong but I know the rest can play musical instruments. Yet I never cease to be impressed by all of them to quickly pick up on a different instrument and then excel. That Canon scene is already on repeat. And thank you for sharing Jeon Mi Do singing video. She has a beautiful voice. I hope to catch her on stage in the future.
I feel the same way about the abuse case. I am not sure how the ER works but there are red flags. I am not a doctor but I love medical dramas and watch a selected few of them for the medical cases and staff. Even as an outsider looking in, some doubts did occur to me when I saw the kid and listen to the extent of injuries. The second case is said as an accident. If the child was seriously injured by the impact, how can the father not in at least consistent injuries as the impact to the child? And the person attaching those wires to his body didn't realise the bruises? Wasn't Dr. Jang there too? That is how she realised the same face. But she did not realise his wound when doing her check up on the kid and before reporting to the surgeon? If there are a number of GS residents, I may let it go. But she is said as the only resident for the GS. Meaning she must have seen a lot of cases throughout those 3 years. Her experience should be a plenty, at least. Even in this episode, I still find her empathy is non-existence. Hence, I find it hard to see her sudden acts of cuteness/ spacing out when she is crushing. I have nothing against the actress, only on the character that she plays. Nevertheless, I am curious as to how the writer will develop her character. I am willing to see it happens, if ever.
