" All this talk of "transcripts" reminds me of how I made my own "transcripts" --- I was caught up with Writer Bae's dialogue --- but of course only via the English translations --- always a little different that whatever was REALLY being said in Korean. The choice of English words can vary so much ---And can never convey the same exact meaning ---That is what I think. I will always be curious about this! But I suppose, in the end, the difference can be "worked around" somehow with sincere effort. Spoken language is not the only language we use to communicate with, Right?
Yes what you say is indeed true...this is why it is better that you have a better comprehension of the said language (Korean) than to relied on English translation. It is not easy to catch & deliver the meaning & the right feeling when dealing with another foreign language & culture that is totally in vast contrast.....the saying, the usage of the language in their sentencing & grammar, the idioms (especially quoting "Sa Ja Seong Eo" (literally means 4 characters idiom, or commonly known as Chinese idioms, 사자성어,四字成語, Chengyu, 成語 ), their cultural quirks & their usage of honourifics & folk expression, dealing with emotions such as joy, sadness, love & etc & to convey this delivering of the feelings & emotions into English is in itself a task to be reckon & the likeliness to be lost in translation & you will end with a very "cold" (frigid) english translation

Transcript mean just a written version of an original material from another medium e.g. auditory (hearing) from the dialogue, as for you..it may be reading from the chinese text of the chinese sub version

Why the Chinese restaurant owner lens is important to prove that he is the murderer of his wife.....
Chinese Restaurant owner have dyslexia (Nan Dok Jeung 난독증,難讀症) & he wears tinted or colour lens for reading difficulties that occur in his ailment, also that his lenses have a prescription as well. Since the lenses are not common, it will determined that Chinese restaurant owner is the culprit

There are 2 system of monthly rental that is practice in Korea
Wolse System 1. (Security Deposit + monthly payment). A small amount of key money deposit ( Bo Jeung Geum, 보증금,保證金, security deposit but refundable) usually between 10-20% of the property market value (Seoul is insanely expensive to live in, rated 11th most expensive cities to live in, workers income is only 35th in the world) & on top of this a refundable deposit & tenant also pay monthly rent

Monthly rent for 85m2 (900sqft) furnished accommodation in an expensive area in Seoul is W2,246,950

Wolse System 2 (advance payment of total monthly rent for your lease) This rental system is fairly similar to what is being practice in most parts of the world. Actually it will not the defendant but the victim (pihaeja,피해자) which will be the decease wife of the Chinese restaurant owner
4288, Hana mother was wrongly convicted with insubstantial evidence (Prosecution relied on CCTV footage & was apathetic in their presentation of the case that can be overturn easily). 4288 was formerly a staff at the Chinese restaurant & when she found the decease & her coat had stained with the decease blood while holding her & was caught trying to wash off the blood from her coat (circumstantial evidence) & was arrested, she also discover that there was a optical lens in her coat pocket but now nowhere to be found. She was sentence to 12 years for the murder charge

Keep up the good work, language practice is important, if you don't get enough of speaking practice than hearing is also another method to progress in the language
Once you mastered to comprehend the language, you actually will find more substantial in the dialogue than what the subtitles provide due to restriction of the timing of the scene
