Today eps is sooo fun! Finally this is a rom com and comedy that I waited for. I think eps 1 is such a letdown, the drama seems have a lot of mystery and dark in eps 1 and the rating was down in eps 2, but I'm glad I'm still give it a chance and finally in eps 6 I can see the comedy and all the fun
JJH is soo adorable omg! I didnt remember any drama that have a cute male lead like him lol. Gu kyung po nailed this role honestly, its really surprising since he is not into romcom but I love his comedic acting so far

I love eps 4 the most, I think I starting to like JH more and more, he is really reliable and caring, he is searching for the stalker, he knows when SE is traumatic about the stalker and ask her to complete the rest of contract, then he doesnt want to bother SE for house party. .love him

Eps 2 is so fun, much better than eps 1.
I dont think JH is creepy, like the woman said about him, he probably had some trauma, and there are a lot of people who socially awkward and dont like getting too close with other people, and thats fine. The writer obviously intentionally make him the a culprit of murderer, but I'm sure he wasnt, so I am really fine with him
I love our OTP together starting from eps 2, (I didnt really feel anything on first eps), cant wait to see it more from them. I am glad I found something to look forward every week, I cant wait for eps 3 next wednesday

I love reading all of the insights from you guys
I totally agree about CH, his character development might be the best among 4 main leads. And if you think more about it, CH literally have interaction/bond with almost everyone, even MJ as the lead didnt get many. CH act like the eldest of family, he has the strongest bond with the parents (compared to MJ and KJ), he is the nicest sibling, he tried to be close and helping Gu when everyone seems didnt want to involved with him. CH is also a nice friend.
I would say that in eps 16 he has the best presence, I cant believe how much character has grown since eps 1, he used to be so talkactive, materialistic and complainer. Lee min ki also killed it with CH role, In interview he said he is actually really quiet and don't talk too much so Gu character is more him than CH, but he nailed with talkactive and annoying CH

And those gangster could come again to ask for money on the next day and will make a scene again untill the hyung bring back the money, so its the best way to closed it down
Gu bring out money from his apart could be
1. To pay off the hyung debt
2. To pay off the chairman to replace the money that the hyung took it away
3. He moved somewhere else and getting out from the club
I always think Gu is smart and waiting for the right moment. The club that he managed is closing down, he might start build another club somewhere else with the chairman, but it would be better to cut it off right now. Why would he start to build another club again if he always want to getting out from there?
Also since I am being positive I choose to believe no.3 because he is also starting to change for the better. I mean he even give up the alcohol and forgive his past, so I want to believe he also going out from the club

I feel like the ending is vague as to whether Gu needs to hide from the Chairman and be on the run, or if he can just live a more normal life with MJ. I don't think MJ is one to run with him - she has a good job and already "lives in the light," as it were. Hopefully Gu can now live in the light with her.
He is clearly alive. His wound/injury arent on vital part (unlike samsik who had head injury and fall to the ground), he seems quite fine compared to the rest of people on the club. And the next day he is still there being alive
One of the reasons he came back to the club is because he cared for his subordinate, but his subordinates are gone, the hyung is run away with money, and samsik is dead(?). And the chairman would searching for his hyung first than Gu, because he run away with all the money from the club.
From the voice over looks like Gu started to take step by step to re-arrange his life :
1. Forgive people who make him suffering. He said he would open his arm to his 'problematic' hyung
2. Counting the 5 min of blessing, start from the kid on elevator
3. Put down his alcohol bottle. No more drinking
4. Him bring out the money from his apartment could be sign that he moved to somewhere else? Since the club is closed already and he try to change over, the first step to change must be run away from the club, and he seems did it with money on his bag
And about Gu-MJ, their relationship is doing totally fine. The night before they dated and laugh together. I dont think they suddenly part away the next day, like whats the reason? Especially when Gu decided to make the change for the better and MJ is the reason. The first break up was because Gu is afraid being happy, choose to be miserable and deserved to be punised, and now he is starting to change and choose hapiness, so he would obviously stay to MJ side
The last scene seems MJ is waiting for Gu then she smiled widely. We are all know only Gu who can make her like that, she said she feels loved after met Gu so Gu is the reason.

I think its happy ending? The club is bankrupt because the hyung is gambling and he ran away with all the money. So Gu is also free, its seems like he got some money left from his apartement then left from there (probably he will move to somewhere else)? then he meet MJ (the last scene). Idk yet about the symbolism of the coin but after he bought alcohol he leave it on the street ( so its probably a sign that he started to stop his addiction from alcohol ). He also called his 'hyung' the one who make him suffer and told that he will open up with open arm so he start to forgive the people who make him 'suffering' instead of cursing on them and drinking.
While MJ obviously is happier and feel loveable like what she wrote on his liberation note after she met Gu. She also forgive her EX
So Gu and MJ are still together till the end. Both also have happy ending, forgive their past and escape from their miserable workplace.
I need to watch it again to make sure, but thats all I can remember for now

Also son sunku really nailed it. It's amazing that he seems put a lot of details on his expressions and he became one with Gu. The duality is killing me, the moment when he is with MJ he seems like a cute puppy but then he went to the club, he act tough and strong

I love eps 15
Finally we can see a lot of Gu-MJ scenes. I tear up when MJ said she actually went to her EX wedding to ruined it then Gu called her and asked to meet, He saved her. . .then Gu recalling MJ also saved his life from mr baek. . .that moment was beautiful. They saved each other life
Someone called it here that Gu was a host, and its totally right! he said it to MJ but MJ isnt bothering at all
So the bts when the girls from MJ workplace said its their last scene is true. MJ actually moved to another company. Sadly we dont get to see how the affair ended and MJ clear up her name
CH finally get the compliment from his dad. 'You worked hard'
I hope he would meet with Gu later and things went well with hyeon a, seems like he dated her but then break up with her
KJ has no progress. .the sister and yurim still cant fully accept her
I'm worried for the upcoming eps because Gu's alcoholic effect will coming to his way. I hope the writer would give us happy ending, and MJ will saved him once again

I find that most of the scenes in this drama are intentional. In some other dramas, there are too many fillers and they don't necessarily contribute to the plot/flow of the drama. Since the writer is doing so, what do you guys think about Gu and the baby? I can relate the scene with these:
-The stroller. It reminds us of the last convo between MJ and Gu.
-The baby. MJ wanted to carry her baby instead of putting the baby in the stroller and how she would carry one-year-old Gu.
-The fatherly instinct. Does seeing a baby evoke Gu to have one and to be thinking about starting a normal family?
-Something unthinkable just happens like a baby entering a club, a bird flying in, or Gu's taking a train to Sanpo. .
Thanks for this. I wasnt thinking anything about the baby before but you are right maybe it was intentional. I found that the baby in the club was super random too, like why the baby was there on the club???
I would be happy if they had baby together lol. from the preview looks like they did sleep together, not just once, they also sharing same blanket with different clothes so maybe they start to living together?

This drama deserve much much better rating, but I am glad we can see slowly increasing of each eps. I hope we can reach 8% as the cast wished!

Honestly MJ shouldve see that coming, because Gu already warned MJ many times that he will leave anytime, he is a bad guy and such, but MJ keep want to be together and always say that she is OK, she wont clingy to him, she just want to be worshipped for her own good, so she will love herself and have confidence.
MJ knew that Gu isnt ran away from her but himself, he is afraid to be happy. MJ also said that Gu is indeed has some problem, so he isnt intentionally leaving her behind, more like because of his own problem. So I am not really surprised that MJ is easily accept him tbh, and she looks really happy after meet him again, because he looks fine and healthy as she wished before. She said that Gu is different compared to all her EX, so its not surprised that she is still waiting for him after years, she probably already have some trauma with men, but not with Gu. Next week is probably a throwback during the time they break up (when MJ asked why he didnt call her sooner). So we will have some explanation soon.
Also Gu left to protect MJ, because chairman already tracked him down even his hyung already found MJ house and knew that Gu has a woman there. I know its hurt seeing MJ by herself and suddenly Gu seems like a bad guy leaving her behind, but If he stayed any longer, MJ life is in danger because the chairman would do something to her. A lot of peope seems forget the fact that he left also because of he loves MJ and he want to protect her.
But I agree with you, Gu really needs to step up and leave the host bar world asap. That thing is really make him depressed and stopping him to be together with MJ. I hope we can see it very soon like how he can take down mr.baek, but it wont be easy because chairman is way more powerful than mr baek. He needs some push and confidence, I hope MJ will help him to get out from there and be the reason to Gu continue living. .

After waiting 1 week, and we dont get MJ-Gu couple yesterday, we finally got it today. I keep replaying the last scene lol, I am so in love with Gu and MJ reunion. The conversation is so cute, they are smilling and giggling together. I knew the writer always make a fast forward to the last scene then explain it later on next eps, so they will explain later why gu suddenly showing up in front of MJ, for now I just want to enjoy their cute moment together. Eventhough he seems have a trouble later. . .
Ki jung remain the one that I dont like even after 14 eps. The way she blame and scolded MJ because of she took loan for her bf is awful! Didnt she also ask money to MJ the moment she knew gu is rich?? I love how CH is on MJ side, his words is totally relatable, they seems like a family but they didnt really had a bond.-

Wow eps 14 is totally depressing and unexpected. .I wasnt expecting those events at all
Spoiler- three siblings mom is dead
- CH out of his job
- Gu as host bar manager, dont eat anything only drinking the whole day
- MJ know his boss affair and will get trouble in the next eps
- The show is showing sometime during 2022 and back to 2019, and our couple wont have reunion probably until 2022, they dont meet in today eps probably next eps still wont meet. .
- The saddest part is Gu only back to MJ house after 3 years, and found that MJ mom already died not long after he left 3 years ago, the dad has new wife, The three siblings are all move to seoul and the house is hella empty. .
I need to take a breath and watching some comedy lol. This eps is really heavy and depressing
I wonder how the writer will wrap this all? Next week is finale, honestly there are so many thing unresolved. I guess since they do realistic approach drama, I think not all characters will get happy ending. . Prepare more tissues I guess

@deandraluv I agree. I dont think he used to be host bar. Mr baek said 'I dont trust people who work in host bars' it doesnt mean that Gu was a host bar, its mean people who work there. Are the people who worked there all ex-host bar/host bar? Nah its impossible right? For example most of drug dealers dont use their own drug, they probably dont even know what it taste, but see the horrible effect of it and only sell it for money. For now I dont want to see it as fact (that he used to be a host bar), but so far we only know that he is working there and have a high rank position.
We only have 4 eps left, this drama isnt focusing only on Gu and MJ, we have CH and KJ too, I dont think it would revealed more about Gu past work. If there was a flasback, probably only to see short story of his ex GF, how it affect him. I am more curious about what happened after the break up and then why they arent together after 3 years (I hope no sad ending for them)

@the_sweetroad the spiritual/religious reference is very obvious with the word of worship tbh. It is usually use to worship the God. Gu who is really depressed and doesnt have any meaning or reason to live were asked to worship MJ. And because of that he is hanging there, have a reason to continue his live. For religious people you need to worship your God, that is the reason you live.

Today eps is so depressing. Finally Gu's time has come, he has to go back. I am sad that we cant see Gu with messy hair and clothes anymore
I love how MJ father give all the money from his wallet to Gu eventhough he already knew that Gu is superrich man, clearly he really likes Gu and ready to give his business to Gu, but sad that Gu has to go. MJ father really respect Gu and accept Gu as he is, just like MJ, Both MJ and her father never questioned about Gu background or interested on Gu money, unlike CH and KJ.
So we might wait a little bit more for reunion? Because the timeline right now is probably still on fall. MJ with short hair is = Gu scene at new year 2022 right? Clearly at winter 2022, they are still walking alone means they aren't together yet. . .
So the current year is in 2019, so we have to wait at least until 2022? 3 years of break up? Wow I wonder whats happenning. .

@philosophie I'm sorry its actually just my own thinking, thats why I want to make sure if chairman really Gu father. .? I have the feeling Gu is his son since chairman seems prefer him than baek, he even searching for Gu and had eyes on him, If Gu is just an ordinary worker, chairman could just let Gu go if he wants to quit. . .
Also Gu is definitely a nice person, if he is into dirty business, it must be because the business is part of his family, so he doesn't have choice. In earlier eps his hyung also called him, and tell him about chairman and mr baek, so its probably a family business because his hyung is also part of it. Another thing is, Gu seems quite young for the higher rank position (he is probably in mid/late 30s), compared to baek who is also in high rank but he is quite old, it could happen because it is his family business so he is already at high rank position

I totally understand the rating, eps 9 is so boring tbh.. I am so tired of KHJ and his family, the madam too. . .in the middle KHJ and CSE suddenly kissed. .like??? The kiss between JJH and CSE in the end didnt help much, bacause the overall eps is so boring.
I am hoping more of JJH and CSE in today eps please. .
