I agree. I ain’t revisiting this drama or touching anything by this writer ever again, it gives me the same level of disgust as Wanna Taste and its writer. I honestly feel bad for LCY having to spent so much energy playing YR, it feels like she would’ve had a much more relaxing time playing horror. 

 

I really don’t like the overdelayed retribution for the baddies too, I get it that they feel like they’d run out of some more drama but even “happy endings” can have some drama after that, just like you can still have feuds after marriage. It’s more realistic like that for me.

F this wreck of a drama. My poor doggo had tummyache and diarrhea the other day but even her stool had more consistency and was more solid than this messy flaming pile. I sincerely congratulate all the actors and actresses for being free of this drama and I hope they’ll never see this clown writer again! Wish you all the best!

I don’t buy their sudden turn of character a bit. This is like the Leeches from Wanna Taste, those two families are detestable and they get off scot free! At least with YR and lady Ju they were set to ruin, but despicable characters getting away with what they did and not even atoning for them is just disgusting, the writer is disgusting!

Ikr?? Okay fine if you want to make YJ and SJ half siblings, fine, whatever. Things can happen like that too, as astronomical as it is. But yo, at least  give him the chance to say sorry and goodbye to YJ and TP. Before that, let him gradually come to terms with him and YJ being siblings, realizing that he’s just as bad as his mom for forcing his feelings on YJ, and have him apologize for causing her grief and making her uncomfortable. I would actually tear up if he said to TP that he wished that they could have been friends up until the very end, that would be a huuuge slap to TP too. It doesn’t even have to be at his deathbed, just let him have some peace.

Agreed. I don’t think he’s evil, I don’t like him, but he’s just a victim of a disgusting parent..... and an incompetent writer. His upbringing and on the top of it, the infuriatingly poor writing decimated his character. I felt feels when he seemed like he genuinely considered MH/TP as his friend, but then I felt disgusted when he just couldn’t move on from YJ. It makes it hard to pinpoint what to feel about SJ’s character, but he damn well didn’t deserve that kind of fate. 
 

I thought the actor had such a charming smile, I hope he next lands a role where his character is done justice, same with the others, including miss Otoke, and plus we all know Lee Chaeyoung can do horror anyways. I sincerely wish these actors the best and hopefully they can let go of this rancid experience with this writer. I can only hope that no one else gets to work with this clown writer but that doesn’t seem likely.

honestly I really want to slap the mom so bad. SHE’S STILL TRYING TO DEFEND YR!!!! AFTER ALL THE THINGS SHE’S DONE!! There’s no limit to this preposterous amount of stupidity, JEEBUS! They should put her in jail along with her beloved daughter, she’s an accomplice!

tbh tho her murder attempts are one time too many, she’s almost as good as spending an eternity behind bars for all the crimes she’s committed: multiple attempted murders, fraud, multiple assault, theft, blackmail, violation of privacy, then breaking out of an institution. You can also argue she committed first degree murder by consciously letting MH/DH die, so that’s the murder charge. I’m no lawyer tho but those should at least land her 15 years in prison?? With the murder charge that’s probably almost as good as an eternity in prison.

It has been a clown circus since a long time ago, either way it’s still The Han Yura Show tho. They’re really intent on keeping her up until the very end. But i agree, the characters have shown no signs of recovering intellectual capacity except for occasional convenient intelligence whenever it fits the plot, why do we have to hope they start getting their braincells back?

I agree with this. With YR she’s never shown any shred of decency, I don’t buy it when she acts miserable bcs of DH/MH’s death. Her foul schemes and nasty crimes pile up over and over and one small moment of misery will never be enough to redeem this hellspawn. I want YR to remain her deluded self-centered egotistical self that still blames the whole world for her downfall, but make sure she suffers greatly because of it. I feel like this drama needs to redeem itself with this, even just for a bit, show that piling lies after lies, evil after evil will only lead to absolute ruin. No need for the pointless, undeserved redemption, YR and lady Ju never deserved it.

I love what you said @Ldy Gmerm but I truly hope YR and lady Ju don’t face death, bcs they deserve to go to prison and suffer the consequence of their actions for the rest of their lives. YR especially needs to be exposed to the whole nation, and have people curse and jeer at her. She trampled over so many ppl’s lives just for her selfish agendas, she should taste karma and be treated the same. Same with mrs. Ju. Death is way too easy of an exit for them, the true punishment for them was for them to lose everything and spend the rest of their lives having nothing.

Seconded. I despise the trope of redeeming shitty family members when they don’t deserve it. I don’t mind redemption of a despicable individual BUT only if it’s done correctly. I don’t know if anyone reads My Hero Academia, but there’s one character there who is a TERRIBLE husband and father and he’s such a selfish jerk who used his own children for his own ambitions. He changes his way now that he’s realized what kind of monster he had become to his family, BUT the sins that he had done was called out, recognized, and still haunts him to the present. THAT is how you do something like this properly, to play with the emotions like you know this person is terrible, he’s done lots of horrible thing, he’s messed up his innocent wife and children, but he’s genuinely trying, and he accepts it whenever people call him out and they all still openly despise him. I love it, they toy with the morality and the grey area of “redemption”.

No one calls them out for their actions, they’re still dumb and selfish, when they feel sorry, they feel sorry for themselves. The mom in particular is the worst. She simped her demon spawn of a daughter enough to commit theft, she refused to take the blame when confronted, and she still simps that witch even when she practically left her grandchild to die! As cardboard as the dad is I wish he truly cuts that venomous woman off along with YR.

@UnniSarah Oh lord no, heck no, I’d sooner call my doggo the president than say Fatal Promise or Gracious Revenge are the best revenge dramas. But I agree, even in those two dramas there are elements that can still salvage the stories, some parts were pretty ok, even. Here it’s just Han Yura circus show and the animals are the Hans, TP, and SJ. Featuring the Otoke cow.

I think it's a case of borrowing other people's ideas. I think one writer comes up with a theme, ideas which aren't necessarily representative of Koreans, so other writers copied if they see the ratings are good.

Yeah I know that korea isn’t actually full of scammers, if anything, it’s just the same as the rest of the world. It’s just that if someone who didn’t know better watches all these kdramas they would think that korea is full of these con artists and scammers, or elitist rich people who like to bully the poor, or narrow minded sexist patriarchs from the way those stereotypes seem to exist in almost every kdrama. @Lmangla guess that’s kdrama logic for us, lol. We can’t even expect characters to act rationally and realistically, how are we supposed to expect actual science from it??? In a world where major fraudulent scams happen as frequent as breathing?? I’m aware scams happen a lot all over the world but the way that every drama seems to have con artists or scammers is way too frequent, if I didn’t know better I’d be scared to go to korea bcs of the amount of scammers there.
