  1. Aww you’re welcome and it was my pleasure! @hibiscus23 I hope it did help with your WS... it’s something all of us drama-obsessed viewers go through... and those photo and gif you posted are just the right kind of stuff that can soothe the lingering WS. I have so many favorite scenes of our Choco OTP as well.. probably every scene they have together esp towards the last part were all just heart fluttering

    About your question:

    Spoiler

Yes, Ha JiWon has her own thread here too if you’d like to check it out. There are a lot of stuff that are posted there and sometimes with recent updates of her vlog and instagram posts.

When I see her, I’m still reminded of Moon Cha Young .. they are so alike!

    About the other dramas:

    Spoiler

I see you’re watching Forest now?

Im guessing the ML is your favorite too? He’s the one in your profile pic am I right?

Oh Kim Tae Hee’s drama has started already! I think it’s already 2 episodes. I watched about half of episode one but I’m not sure if I want to continue though cause the storyline might not have a happy ending.

Aw you’ve made me curious why you don’t like PMY haha ... I saw her in Healer she was ok there. I think this current one with Seo Kang Joon seems like a good melo. I’m drawn towards their characters’ story and the way the drama is filmed (cinematography and music) gives it a heartwarming feel.

    @Soomin

Hello and good to see another YKS fan!

I’m always glad to read when people write good things about YKS and Chocolate (and also HJW). I can relate to your sentiment regarding Choco OTP vs CLOY Couple ( no offense meant to their fans) I’m a fan of all the stars in these two dramas but I really do prefer Lee Kang and Cha Young’s love story too! And yes, I agree with you on their chemistry! It’s so hard because even as we really love their drama, we can’t really ship them. We have to respect that there may be boundaries. Although I will say this, I’ll be one of the happy fans if someday we find out that there is something more...

  2. @hibiscus23

Having WS is a real problem isn’t it? Hahaha. I’m glad that photo of the two hunks made you laugh! Im not that creative as you think. The Instagram posters are the creative ones. They’re so good at making gifs and captions. Just like our chingu @Ameera Ali and @Lawyerh :kiss_wink:

I’m also still rewatching some episodes of Chocolate from time to time. As @AquariusMY mentioned, there’s something very special about the love story of Kang and Cha Young. It’s the kind of love that stands the test of time, even though I’m not a fan of childhood connection first loves, their story for some reason works for me. I think credit should also be given  to the writer for a dramatic build up in the anticipation of their love story. The episode when they went back to Wando Island and when Kang held Cha Young while she slept then cooked for her was one of my favorite episodes.

    Off topic:

    Spoiler

Anyone waiting for Park Min Young’s drama next week? It looks good based from the preview. Also Kim Tae Hee’s new Drama Hi Bye Mama seem interesting.

Till next time chingus! Take care! Hoping to hear from other fans of YKS too, if they are visiting this thread.. Hello to everyone!!

Hi @im0202 I just saw your post after I posted mine and had to log back in because that clip of YKS in sageuk attire is too gorgeous! Hahaha! Thanks for digging and posting it here!

  3. Guess there are still some of us that are not over Chocolate hmm that includes me! Lol. The name Kang must be quite auspicious for YKS. I just found out that Kang means river in Korean after coming across this Instagram username ( moon river) referring to Moon Cha Young and Lee Kang. (Please correct me if I’m mistaken). I think Lee Kang does the best emotive reaction that describes those of us with WS :D

And just to be sure we’re all undergoing therapeutic treatment, this explosive scene is a must-watch

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend dear chingus! :kiss_wink:

Just before I go, I have to give this one for you chingu @hibiscus23 who I think needs double therapy now. Please take extra care and don’t end up sick like these two men :yum:

  4. Guerilla date! What a perfect timing for posting that vid! @hibiscus23

Annyeong and a happy Valentine’s Day to all YKS squad girls!

@im0202 @AquariusMY @Lawyerh @Redpinkboxes and every one else still having WS and needing YKS therapy!!!

Who wants to have a date with this guy on Valentine’s Day!?! This gorgeous guy can serenade and make our hearts melt like chocolate, right?  :joy:

Our Chocolate Couple...posting this clip of them again..... I’m missing them so much!!

    @hibiscus23

    Spoiler

I haven’t finished Last yet. I’ve been swamped with so many things to do this week :tears: I plan to watch more this weekend. I haven’t seen HJW in the titles that you mentioned. I have read the synopsis and some viewers’ comments on It Happened in Bali so I know what happened lol.

Oh I totally understand what you mean, I may have a longer list for K actors too lol and the more we watch the longer the list becomes, right? :D

Wise Doctor Life is from the same director/writer team as the Reply series. Also from Prison Playbook. Have you seen those, by any chance? From what I gather, those shows were popular with most K viewers so this drama is highly anticipated. Plus it has my favorites Yoo Yeon Seok and Jo Jung Suk so I’m pretty excited about it.

  5. @hibiscus23 I’ve only started watching dramas a few years ago so I’ve seen only a few of her dramas.. Empress Ki and King 2 Hearts. Chocolate is the third one. I’m not sure if I can be considered as “huge” fan though I really like her. (I haven’t seen all of her films or dramas though). For me, she is a really versatile actress. She can perform all kinds of genre — from drama to comedy. And she has been my favorite ever since. Along with Seo Hyun Jin, Kim Ha Neul, Nam Ji Hyun and Park Min Young.

How’s everyone’s drama viewing coming along? I’m still determined to finish YKS drama Last. I hope I will finish it in time before more dramas start premiering and piling up again! :o (I’m already keeping my schedule open for PMY’s drama and also Wise Doctor drama next month).

  6. Showering some YKS goodness

Didn’t know he has a movie coming up

    ”Spiritwalker”

    Looking forward to this.

Appreciate @Lawyerh review of MalMoE. It’s really an inspiring movie with a good combination of some laughter and tears. Very well acted by the cast too.

Our dear chingus  @hibiscus23 and @im0202 have convinced me to put Last on my ever growing watchlist. The first episode has me intrigued and I want to see the ordeal he went through and how he bounces back from the betrayal.

  7. @im0202

Hmmm this is a tough one! Clearly, being here in this thread means I’m going to have impaired judgment haha :joy: there’s nothing that I don’t love about YKS. I love everything YKS! But if I have to choose one, I’d say I like the playful YKS... a guy with a good and decent sense of humor will always get my vote! So it’s the winking blue one for me :kiss_wink:

I must say, the YKS therapy clinic is highly recommended! :love:

    Spoiler tag—for YKS squad

    Spoiler

PS: My prescription for this weekend therapy— watch Lovers of 6 years ASAP  :joy:

What did the doctor prescribe for the other squad girls? :glasses:

  8. Annyeong fellow JiWon admirers!

I appreciate the updates and posts on our dear JiWon. And look forward to her upcoming movie. I visit this thread often along with Chocolate and Yoon Kye Sang’s thread.. it’s so hard to get over them from their collaboration in Chocolate. I wish they would work on another project again though I think that usually doesn’t happen in K dramas *sigh*

I’m still a newbie fan and I’m curious about something, can someone provide info why there is a number 1023 in JiWon-ssi’s handle? And in most things associated with her. Is there any significant meaning behind it?

  9. I don’t think I’ll be over it anytime soon either.

Still not over them and still coming to visit their threads for therapy

The OTP love story will stay with me for awhile. Haven’t seen any dramas lately with a build up of their romance that was done so poignant and very well acted by two leads with an explosive chemistry.. Everytime I listen to their OST brings back all the nostalgia once again.

I’ll be rewatching it for sure at some point later. For now, will have to contend myself with YKS and Chocolate thread pictures, gifs and videos that all our dear chingus have contributed

     :blush::kiss_wink:

    Edited to add:

It goes without saying, HJW remains one of my favorites (it’s my profile pic!) and I’m visiting her thread also to keep updated with her latest news. So many thanks to chingus managing her thread.

  10. @im0202 @Lawyerh

I have the same problem with YKS in second lead lol aside from my bias for Chocolate couple which is probably why I can’t watch his other dramas with different FL :w00t: :scream:

But I might try Road no. 1 after I finish Lover of 6 years. (Thanks to @hibiscus23 for the promotional pictures :D)

For some reason, his team up with Kim Ha Neul works for me though. (Is it just me, or does she look a little similar to Ha Ji Won? Somewhat same demeanor too.)

In any case, he’s very versatile and talented enough, as evidenced in all his previous projects, that I would not be surprised if he is offered for another drama where he is the first lead.

  11. Dear YKS squad,

We’re doomed. There’s no cure for this. Let’s just page Dr Lee Kang and have him heal our sickness :joy:

I just started Malmoe: The Secret Mission. I can feel that it’s a movie with a powerful message and it’s going to have a strong impact on the viewers. There are some very truthful words in the dialogue that give me goosebumps. I’m happy to see familiar faces in the cast, with very capable veteran actors and actresses.

  12. Anneyeong YKS squad!!

It has been a hectic week for me. Glad that Friday’s here and weekend again. I can finally catch up on my dramas and YKS movie watch! My excitement to watch MME was heightened by @Lawyerh posts about it. Hope you’re all doing well. I’ll pop in again later. In the interim, here are some clips that showed up on YT. It’s a compilation of YKS guesting on various talk/game show. He was still so much younger in some segments. What a playful and funny guy! :kiss_wink:

Second clip shows his dramatic and singing skills!  He seems to be a very talented and versatile actor. He deserves to be featured in more dramas and films!

  13.  @hibiscus23 yes I agree, I can watch something as long as I see YKS in it. But I think he has to be a lead or at least have LOTS of screen time hahaha I saw someone mention MME sometime ago but I didn’t realize YKS also star in it. I’m always fascinated with movies or dramas related to true events and those set in 1940s era. Which of his movies did you like in particular? Edit: Oops I just read again your previous post and saw your list haha

I’m amazed at YKS squad research skills! You guys are so thorough at digging up all the good stuff :kiss_wink: Also all those photos and gifs are a joy to see. I wish i had the talents you guys have at creating gifs!

  14. What did I miss??!! I just log off for a bit and there’s a YKS squad party here!!! I just have to be a part of this!! Thanks for tagging me @Lawyerh :kiss_wink:

I haven’t read all your posts yet, just saw a few and it’s enough to make my day complete!

KyeSang singing wow and the audience singing with him, so cute! Anyone knows if he has a solo song? I’ve been listening to their group albums alternately with Chocolate OST. Their songs are quite good. I’m not surprised they seem to have a huge fan base. I’m curious if he has a song that he sang by himself.

I’m digging @hibiscus23 description of him “adorkable” —  I think that really fits his personality very well. May I steal that word? I’m going to use that when describing him from now on. He’s adorkably handsome hahaha :D

Thanks to those who gave recommendations on his movies. I would like to check out Mal Mo E and Lovers of 6 Years. Seems like something that can soothe WS. Or is it gonna make it worse?? There’s no way out of this rabbit hole, is there??  LOL :w00t: :D

  16. HJW and YKS have a chemistry that’s off the charts it translates so well both on and off screen. Their portrayal of their characters as CY and LK is so on point that in some scenes it looks like they are being themselves naturally. Maybe this is one of the reasons why it’s so hard for me to get over them on top of their beautiful love story in the drama as well as the other slice of life stories that were woven that made it more meaningful. It’s an introspective drama that touches the heart and soul. And its message of kindness, patience, forgiveness, unconditional love and all the other life lessons from the show will not be easily forgotten.

All their BTS is so much fun to watch and it’s lovely to see them having so much fun enjoying their craft. I saw or read a comment that YKS said that HJW is similar to her character CY and I can’t agree more. And now that I’ve seen their BTS, I think YKS seem to be similar to LK as well, especially in the later episodes as he is transformed from a stoic and aloof person to a more cheerful and expressive boyfriend to CY. HJW was the reason I started to watch Chocolate but now I have joined YKS fandom discovering that he is a member of a boyband, I have started listening to their albums on Spotify. For now, they are still my Chocolate couple and I just can’t get over their pairing or imagine them being paired onscreen with anyone else.

I’m so grateful to all here who have shared their love for Chocolate and continue to keep the love for the show going. I love reading all comments and going through all the pictures, gifs, videos. It’s been very enjoyable coming to this thread everytime

  17.

This is the clip from the ending scene in Greece. As we know, it’s a continuation of the scene in Episode 1 when we see Kang running towards Cha Young. When he finally finds her, she turns around and their story begins. It seems they may have shot that scene with several takes. There might have been a slight editing mistake or there might not be. Anyway, the audience knows the scene from Episode 1. We are waiting for what happens next. Kang knows the whole story and what happened to Cha Young. He knows how traumatic it was for her that she suffers every time she is reminded of it. The hug he gave her was such a comforting act that she needed and she looked peaceful because finally she has someone whom she can lean on and loves her unconditionally. He didn’t even need for her to tell him to find her. He already knows Cha Young loves him. He was just someone who loves her, who knew she is lost in her troubles. He gave her time to heal and then he reaches out to find her. That’s pure and unconditional love.

From my perspective, Cha Young has had a very difficult time with her mom ever since she was mistreated to hunger and abuse as a child and later abandoned in the building. Meeting her again 20 plus years later and I expected a reconciliation and yet the mom has not changed at all. The horrible memories from Cha Young’s past being revived again must have been very devastating. I’m not surprised at all at her reaction. She needed time to heal. A deep wound like that can make someone close down or run away. Contrary to some views, I liked that Cha Young took some time for herself in order to sort things out. I understood her need to settle this part of her life which must’ve burdened her for a long time. I’m glad the

reappearance of her mom enabled Cha Young to have the closure she needed on her abandonment issues. And that Kang is the one beside her to give her the comfort and love she needs.

Edited to add some more thoughts

(please bear with me as I’m typing on the go).

I will put it under spoiler tag.

    Spoiler

I’ve been thinking why the writer chose to show this ending scenario. Why did Cha Young run away and did she not learn anything from working in the hospice? What was the writer’s intention? I’m thinking Cha Young’s emotional scar runs deeper than we see. On the surface, she seems bubbly and kind, always ready to lend a helping hand. But it seems the mom issue is something that she has not dealt with for a long time. I think after she had time to heal herself and let go of all the hurt, she would eventually have gone back to Kang. Except that Kang was the one who found her. I think this part the writer may have chosen to show how Kang’s love for Cha Young is unconditional. She didn’t need to do anything for him to love her. Unlike her mother, who always seem to demand things from her but left her when she was unable to meet her mother’s needs.

In my view, I think she needed to settle this issue first before they were reunited again. After that happens, I believe whatever issue that they have to face, they will be able to go through it together. I think Kang understood this and could be the reason why he didn’t tell Cha Young about his mom being with her in the building. I can see that later he will tell her eventually about it.

Anyway, these are the thoughts running through my head as I think there are so many things to think about and there’s just too many things to love about this show.
