    Thanks!

Nice trailer ..It has too many slow motion in the fighting scenes in the fighting scenes and ZWJ is very ..pretty. Well, the overall looked nice. Strangely I'm looking forward for ZZR and SQS more, just because their fighting scenes looked cool.

Haha yeah... I agree, too many slow motions! I'm not digging the CGI either. Seriously, producers should just take a page out of LOCH 2017 and make it the basic standard for all Jin Yong forthcoming adaptations. This said, I'd still check this out.

CFY surely has a deep emotion on that day, his first ever drama and he has finished it after so many ups and down with all the crews and casts, whether what result gonna be, they surely grateful be able to finish Ever Night. We know CFY and SYR are both sensitive, surely this thing really touch their heart, even I almost cry watching those clips (include SYR wrapped day diary). But he is a gentleman after all, cant cry easily right LOL, he tried so hard to surpress his tears to fall, although his eyes is red already.

PS: i think his foundie is too thick in here LOL, his face is too white!

Yeah, it's obvious he was trying hard to suppress his tears back. You're right, he must have mixed feelings, from relieved because the shooting is finally finished, to sad because he's grown closer to his cast mates and crew, they've become his family for 6 months, and so forth. Personally it touches me more because he isn't part of the second session, and this was really like him saying "goodbye" and not "see you again". Oh well :(

  3. Seriously, based on what you ladies wrote here, he should've covered his whole face, worn glasses (maybe sunnies), wear a cap, and come in wheelchairs so people won't recognize him, although such look may still attract people .

Btw, I come across a clip from the wrapping party of EN. This clip was focusing on CFY's face when Director Yang Yang was saying her closing/farewell message. We can see he was on the verge of tears :(. I never realized this before. I thought it was only Yiren who got caught up in emotions, but CFY had his share of feeling blue too :).

They all recorded their own voice in EN, so what you hear in EN are their own voice, whether Adam Cheng, Leon Lai, Dylan Kuo or Andy On, I recognize their voice.

Yes, they all dubbed their own voice for EN, so that's why I'm curious how they sound to the ears of Mandarin speakers hehe... I sometimes recognize a bit of accent of Cantonese speakers, but I can't tell the Taiwanese accent. Andy On is American Chinese, I think his Mando isn't accented either? I once read Takeshi Kaneshiro has zero accent when speaking Mandarin, although he's from Taiwan and most of his movies are Taiwanese or HK. He's one of those multilangual actors  -- he speaks Mandarin, Japanese, Cantonese fluently, and of course English!

So he took performing art department? What is that? I believe he can do poem reciting, he has a clear pronounciation and make a rhyme every time he read, but dont know how high the standard level of BFA.

Performing art dept = acting dept.

He does have clear pronunciation when talking in English, but TBH I can't tell for Mandarin talking. Our Mandarin speaker @angelangie should know better, hehehe... Actually one of the criticism towards him in EN is his line delivery. I'm guessing it's his recorded line. You see, in EN they did on-site recording for indoor scenes, but for outdoor shooting the actors had to record/dub their voices in the studio. CFY probably needs to better emote with his voice when he's not shooting a scene. Fortunately he was raised in Beijing, so he shouldn't have regional accent. Speaking of accent, I'm now curious about the non-Mainland actors in EN, like Adam Cheng, Leon Lai, Dylan Kuo and Shih Chieh-chin. How does their Mandarin speaking sound?

maybe CFY chose BFA because he want more than acting, but also directing, producing and etc

Personally, I am surprised with CFY's choice to study in China.

But, I think him and his family must have already thought what is best for him right now..

Hope he'll improve and gets better with his study in BFA...

Me too :). Deep down inside, I had hoped that he took the admission test for directing dept, but alas he went for the performing art (hence the poem reciting test). But we know that CFY is a mature young man, who seemingly rarely acts on impulse. Knowing how he always strives to learn, I agree that he probably wants to be in the place where he can get training from the best sources for all aspects of film making, not just acting.

I can't remember... did I discuss it here or elsewhere? China and England are probably the only countries which actors are mostly expected to get formal education in acting. Of course, there are  China's top stars who didn't get such formal training, like Zhao Liying or Ma Sichun. But the majority start their career from the drama schools, and I guess that's how they develop their networks in the industry as well.

I just googled Wen Qi, turns out she is a Taiwanese actor, Vicky Chen, and just like Sophia Zhang, they both are young and talented rising star.

Yes. And they were picked by CCTV as two of the post-95 "4 dans". Here's the "4 Dans" wikipage if you want to know more about it.

Ah yes i also read those names, hopefully this is true! finger crossed. That means CKG remember LHR really well when he did Legend of Demon Cat back then, and it is a good thing CFY can work with him, and watch him as a mentor. LHR also study at BFA, along with SYR, etc, right?

LHR studies at Central Academy. Central Academy, together with BFA and Shanghai Theater Academy are the most prestigious higher education institutions in film in China. For acting department, Central is actually considered the best by most people, they sort of specializes in drama. They tend to produce serious actors, like Chen Baoguo, Ni Dahong, Zhang Ziyi, and in the younger generations names like Wang Kai and Yang Shuo. In short, actors that most likely appear in Daylight Entertainment, LOL (the producer of Nirvana In Fire,  Ode to Joy, Ming Lan).

BFA excels in film producing, although many of their acting dept alumni also include top stars like Huang Zhaoming, Zhao Wei, and Yang Mi.

The reason I'm cautious about those names is because they are currently the most sought after young stars. LHR, Wen Qi and Sophie Zhang are considered serious young actors, not just idols. Wen Qi had won a Golden Horse at the age of 13 or 14. If indeed CFY will work with them in one movie, that will be fantastic! But again, like I said before, many times names are thrown in for marketing purpose. So yeah...  like you said, let's cross our fingers! :)

btw in twitter there is rumour that CFY and LHR will act together on CKG project. I really hoping this is true!

I read similar thing not only on twitter but also in some C newspage. It doesn't only mention CFY and LHR's names, but also Wen Qi and Zhang Xueying. I think we better wait until more established/reliable news sources raise/confirm it, because it's very common for producers to throw names for buzzes, and in the end other actors are cast.

Thank you! Hu Xia has soothing voice, which adds to the beauty of the song. EN has kickass OST. I love all of their songs, each in different degree, hehe... I'm in the minority, but Jane Zhang's probably my least favorite among the bunch, together with MSS song. Most favorite is Sitar Tan's.

Chen Fei Yu's Thai fan page translated his award accpetance speech intoThai. I have never understand it entirely and now I am impressed with him even more.

Here is the Eng translation that I translated from Thai. ^^

    Dear teachers, friends and colleagues.
Good evening! My name is Chen FeiyYu.
First of all I would like to say thank you to DongFang TV station,
And Yuewenshaoji IP FengYunshengdian (name of organization)
It is  such a great honor for me.
I would like to say that,
    As a  new actor,
I think that putting an effort to perform well,
is a duty that need to be done.
At this moment, I would like to thanks all audiences who are so kind (to me).
    When I was a kid,
I grew up in a rather strict family.
My dad.... Today, he is still the same.
    He taught me many things.
    When I was growing up,
I always wish to be as good and strong as him.
    Dad...In two
or many more years from now,
People would say that "I am your dad"
    Oh! no! no!
People would say " He(Chen Kaige) is Chen FeiYu 's dad."
    Also,
I remember once my dad told me that,
    Dad said.....
"I know what you(Chen FeiYu) love is not fame or honor,
but the art of acting, itself,
and to become an admirable actor on the stage."
    (I have not finish yet..everyone)
    (Dad said)...
    "On this stage,
My son, you can do what you love to do,
and also can make a living.
At the same time, you must understand/interpret each characters and show it to the audience.
When you can do that, your dream will come true."
    This is the reason,
I wish to become a good actor.
    Thank you everyone.

Thank you, @mei2018! He never ceased to impress me. I love his thought process, which is reflected in his speeches, interviews, social media (when he's not advertising, LOL).

I'd like to share with you this blog post. It's about the event when CFY slipped tongue depicted by mei above, but with additional assessment of the blogger. Wait, does he/she happen to be here as well? ;)

Havent heard anything about it, but i always think they will use CGI for Hao Tian SS, and for close up scene, maybe SYR can use a chair to make height gap smaller, but sometimes rumours in entertainment business are quite well proven, so we will just see about it, so far there is no news about new cast for Hao Tian SS.

I haven't heard the rumor about SYR's being replaced, just some people speculating because in the novel she becomes bigger when she turns into Haotian.

Yes, i think he is on CNY holiday and resting with family before back to school in US and work, and he is not that social media type, that always post his activity on weibo or instagram, so the fans barely get updates from him.

Yes, he barely updates his instagram, but I thought it was because he spent most his time in China where instagram is blocked. So it's the same with weibo? I think he uses weibo mostly for his endorsements, since he's ambassador for several brands. I remember in the EN forum someone asked why he never promoted EN again after the announcement that he won't reprise his role in EN2, and someone else answered that his studio still promoted EN. It looks to me his studio does the updates on his projects. He's probably being very careful in handling his social media account, and just uses WeChat to connect with his friends and family.

Yes i have posted this article in ever night 1 thread. Actually CFY's 30kg weight loss was not for Ever Night, it was for his stomach problem. CFY mention this huge weight loss to director Yang, in order to tell how although he was just entered 17 y.o back then, but he can endure such hard process that not anyone can do it and prove that once he commit to do something, he will done it profesionallism. And yes he also said he can do travelling in such extreme weather. That interview was so convicing director Yang, and now we all know the result, CFY really a man of his words.

Thanks @epinklyn :).  Sorry that I posted a same stuff!

Yes, CFY is a determined and committed young person. I hope he keeps nurturing these good traits.

Thx a lot @caranita i want more more article like thisssss please

Well some similarities with CFY, I also cant sleep well on plane, i just too cautious, small thing can wake me up easily, sadly. And i also dont have games in my cellphone, and dont play PS or xbox LOL, i prefer to read (but i dont have the same level book worm with him and different level of genre too LOL), watch, listening to music or sleep LOL.

He really likes to learn. I am more and more adoring this boy!

    You're most welcome!

I'm not a gamer myself & the only game app in my cellphone is the Two-Dots, just to keep me somewhat entertained when I don't have anything else to do, no books/magazine to read, and no phone reception. But I do like sci-fi movies to some extent, I'm sort of a Trekkie (not a fan of StarWars though) -- I know, it's not really compatible to being a non-gamer LOL.

Here's an older article with Director Yang Yang, with emphasis on CFY casting http://yaolan-jy.com/guojixinwen/12884.html. I'm not sure if it's been posted on the EN1 forum, but I know the blog Dramapanda has put up a post on the similar topic. Some tidbits from the article:

    - CFY had to undergo several round of tests before he finally got casted. One of them includes: weight loss. I'm not sure if it's the correct translation. This makes me question whether he joined the casting process before he started shooting for Secret Fruit, because he's so skinny in the latter. I'm thinking, the casting process took quite a long time. It took the production crew three years for preparation, including two years to develop the script.

    - It was CFY's perseverance and "earnest confidence" which convinced Director Yang Yang to cast him. He was asked whether he'd be willing to travel far and work hard during summer and winter, and CFY said yes without hesitation.

    - Director Yang Yang also said that she did not believe the production has to cast a famous or currently hot actor in order to increase the traffic (interest?) to the drama. Whoever plays can increase the drama. (Hence the casting of 2 relatively unknown actors as the main leads).
