Dear Soompi LMH thread friends, this might be OOT but I'd like to ask for your support from your heart.

Some of you may heard from news, but there's a sad accident today on Korea - a cruise carrying about 500 passengers, 300 of them high school kids on their way field trip, has capsized this morning. 5 had passed away and more than 280 are still missing.

Please pray for those passed away, those missing, those injured and families and friends of them. It's already late night here but hope at least some of the missing passengers be rescued.

Our focus now is on GB.  I was checking out on some of the film Yoo Ha directed and the common factor I see is violence, uncouth behaviour, foul language and steamy sex scene.  I now have to slowly switch my LMH Daejang/Kim Tan/LYS mode to a filthy, uncouth, bad mouth bad*** character as KJD .. I am not sure if my imagination of this character is correct, however looking at the past Yoo Ha lead, I do not think I am far off. I have 6 months to switch mode before the film comes out or I know I am going to suffer the same situation with JIS, watching him is Winter... and then Dirty Carnival ... I couldn't bring myself to finish the later. God help me, by the time GB is out, i hope I am prepared ...

@nevrmind, heres a short prayer .. Dear Lord my God, I pray for the victims and families of the ferry accident.  Give strength, hope and courage to their love ones and if it is your will, please bring the lost ones safely back and pray that those who died, that you will bring them to your keep. Give strength and courage to those who are helping in the search. Amen!

Is GB gonna be Rated R? That will be sad for his underage fans. As an adult, I don't mind if it has some sex in it, but I hope it won't be over-used like the Tudors. That's how I turned to kdramas.

I remember a post saying that GB (as written) is rated 19+ (or PG) like most of Yoo Ha's films. We were surmising that the rating may have to do more with violence and foul language rather than sex/ nudity (natch!).  Based on the few KFilms that I've watched, there is a clear divide between Korean films and Korean dramas since the latter are antiseptic and heavily-censored to screen to a wide audience.   Kfilms, on the other hand, run the gamut of themes from homosexuality to psychological thrillers and yes, graphic sex.  Minho did say that we will see him do things that he's never done before like swear/ use foul language.  Try to watch Yoo Ha's A Broken Flower and Dirty Carnival so you can better appreciate his style.  I also wish that Minho won't have to do explicit sex scenes (unless we're alone together)....and judging from his career path, I doubt he will.

Not sure where the explicit sex scene rumor comes from because all the news on GB so far haven't mentioned anything about that. Though the movie is 19+, I think it's skewed more toward violence than sex. Maybe because Yooha directed A Dirty Carnival oops I meant Frozen Flower, that's why people associate GB with graphic sex scene? A Dirty Carnival's Frozen Flower's theme is on sexual orientation though, so these two movies are entirely on different topics. 
It was reported in August when rumor first came out GB is a two male-lead movie. KRW's character is a foil to KJD. 
I'm somewhat lukewarm toward Korean cinema in general, so don't know if I will truly enjoy GB as a story or directing flair. But I'm most certainly super excited to see Minho transform into someone we haven't seen before.

For Korean celebrities, maintaining a strong fan base is almost more important than actual talent. Lee often calls his fans "precious" and gushes about their support as "the source of his confidence and focus." He said that he is constantly asking his staff to teach him new languages and phrases in order to better communicate with his foreign fans.

While it's hard to take Lee seriously when he says things like, "I survive on the love of fans," the sheer amount of times he remarks on his appreciation for his "Minoz" in public seems to indicate that he's either incredibly aware of the power his fans hold, or he's genuinely grateful.

His caution is understandable, given that Korean celebrities have to deal with the "wrath of netizens(online citizens) who seem to yield an alarming amount of influence in the country, which is now the most wired nation in the world.

So, perhaps Lee's careful dealing with his fans is working. Lee's appeal to Korean entertainment executives doesn't just come from his domestic appeal, it also drawn from his huge international fan base, which means, even if a drama starring Lee happens to be a flop in Korea, broadcasters can still distribute the drama overseas - for a "hefty profit".

But, last year, he played a teenage chaebol heir, in his new TV show, The Heirs. At the press conference, Lee fielded a question about his decision to come full circle to the type of role that put him on the map.

The Heirs had an impressive viewer rate of 25.6% (Nilson Korea, Nationwide basis) for its last episode that aired on December 12th, thus ending the hit drama. Not only was the viewer rate in numbers, it also created various popular words and phrases, and it obviously was a work that had a powerful ability to reach out and influence viewers.

Though many Hollywood stars often try to escape attention, Lee is active on several social networking sites, including Facebook (he has over 13 million fans) and Twitter, with almost 1.8 million followers. Even in China, he has over 21 million followers on Weibo. He said he likes that this type of media gives him a more direct way to connect with his fans.
