Guest chic_
Vivienne Westwood in Asia (mostly Japan, HK and China) is like LV used to be...everywhere and anywhere as well as counterfeited... I quite like Vivienne Westwood and her eclectism - her collections (esp. the ones from the past) is serious visual heaven. I only really started following VW after reading an biography on her. However, it just seems like everyone wants to get their hands on somthing with the VW logo on it, just for the sake of the logo. It seems like its the logo > the actual clothes and what it represents (which is what its suppose to be)...i don't know, its like the whole brand is losing a certain something by sticking the logo on basically anything and everything. The craze for anything VW (accessories esp) seemed to surge after Nana.
Guest lovejoo
^ well. Some people DO buy for their logos. like Gucci Coach & LV, they all print their logos on like most of their bags&accessories. the logo is what it makes em sell. hehe. --- mango_x theres a VW store in Shatin (HK). It's on the lower level. If u take the railroad train, when u come out of the station, keep walking straight and it's on your left. XD!!! Prices are like THE SAME. >_> T_T ---

la folie
I don't really like how people start to like VW after seeing NANA.. it doesn't carry the meaning of VW anymore. and i agree with chic_

VW items could be sort of like a first time experience for kids in this department.

Her collections were bold statements, not just an orb on a chain. Vivienne Westwood is more than just a brand or the orb logo. I mean, do they even know about the type of products she made in her early career on Kings Road - i'm sure a lot of their parents won't approve of that sort of stuff... Guest chickery
I don't really like how people start to like VW after seeing NANA.. it doesn't carry the meaning of VW anymore. and i agree with chic_ Eh, IMO, Nana is a personification of old school Westwood. I mean, back then, her clothes were about fetish, rebellion and punk. Even today, her collections are grounded in her early days as the Queen of Punk. If you look at Nana, the story portrays people in that lifestyle. Yeah, not many kids know about World's End with her Porno prints and fetish wear, and certainly their parents wouldn't approve... but it's not like NANA is so innocent either. The characters are not model citizens by any means... Sex, drugs, rock -- as an artist, I'm sure Yazawa Ai used Vivienne Westwood iconography on purpose. When younger kids read or watch a movie, I do think they make the connection that VW has established with punk, even if they know nothing about fashion. I don't see anything wrong with wanting her items for that reason.

Guest luzCONTROL_7
I've read the story about VW on Kings Road, and I know how she looks like and all that sex pistols punk something stuff. But really, I don't care. O_O' It's clothes. Yeah, maybe it has some important meaning and all but to me it's just a really cool necklace. I don't buy clothes because it's a certain brand and I don't really care so much about the history behind it even though it's interesting to know. I just buy what I like. Well, I should admit I would never buy a tshirt that suggests raping or something like that. :X But as I said, I buy what I like and I don't think I'd ever like something that suggests raping anyway. And I should add that I do not own anything VW, I just like some stuff they have.
Guest Romancer.
aaaaaaand does anyone have anything of her perfume lines? i heard some nice reviews about the Boudoir Sin Garden Funny you should say that because my mum bought me that perfume the other day and it smells SO NICE! But it's tiny, 30ml (looks like it's not even that!) for $63 (£32)... But I'm a perfume collector/addict so I guess it's ok haha! I just don't want to use it all so fast~
