Character descriptions

Lee Jung Eun (Jeon Hye Jin) works in marketing in the competitive beauty industry while also striving to keep up with her 7-year-old daughter’s education. Having had to grow up quickly to help out her busy mother, Lee Jung Eun’s unresolved frustrations with her mother resurface as she raises her own daughter.

 

Yoon Ji Ah (Jo Kim Soo) is a child art therapist who raised her daughter, Jung Eun, on her own. When Ji Ah starts taking her granddaughter to after-school programs at Jung Eun’s request, she encounters a new world previously absent from her life.

 

Lee Young Wook (Jung Jin Young) is an English professor who finds new excitement in his later years after meeting Ji Ah at his granddaughter’s after-school program.

 

Hong Jae Man (Jeon Suk Ho) is the husband of Lee Jung Eun. Hong Jae Man is a home shopping merchandise director who is immature and often scolded by his wife. Despite his work struggles, he always prioritizes his family.

Jeon Hye Jin confirmed to make a comeback with a new family K-drama

Jeon Hye Jin is returning to the K-drama scene next year.

On June 3, Jeon Hye Jin's agency HODU&U Entertainment confirmed that the actress is resuming her activities and will star in the upcoming K-drama Riding Life. The series is confirmed to be produced and is scheduled to premiere next year. The agency also asked for support as the actress prepares to meet viewers once again with a new work. 

The upcoming K-drama Riding Life will showcase the various relationships between families. According to reports, Jeon Hye Jin will portray the main lead role named Lee Jung Eun. 

There is no confirmation yet on the broadcast channel, airing date, and other casts that will join Jeon Hye Jin in Riding Life. 

This will be the first confirmed K-drama project of Jeon Hye Jin after her 2023 ENA K-drama Not Others with Girls Generation's Choi Soo Young, Ahn Jae Wook, Park Sung Hoon, Kim Hye Eun, Seo Ye Hwa, and more.

 

 

This coming August, the upcoming movie Mission Cross will premiere. Jeon Hye Jin worked with Hwang Jung Min, Yeom Jung Ah, Jeon Hye Jin, Jung Man Shik, Kim Chan Hyung, and Kim Joo Heon in the upcoming film. The movie was originally set to premiere in February of this year but eventually decided to be postponed until August. 

Mission Cross will be the grand comeback of Jeon Hye Jin to the movie scene. Her last appearance in the big screen was in 2022 with the film Hunt. 

Jeon Hye Jin started her acting career in 1998. She is active in K-dramas and films.

Based on the novel of the same name, “Riding Life” tells the relatable story of a single mother and her daughter, who grew up to become a working mom. Directed by Kim Cheol Kyu of “Flower of Evil,” the series will explore themes such as private education and children being raised by their grandparents.

The upcoming ENA K-drama Riding Life announced its official main leads.

On August 22, ENA confirmed that Jeon Hye Jin, Jung Jin Young, Jun Suk Ho, and Jo Min Soo will work together for the upcoming slice-of-life K-drama Riding Life. 

The upcoming K-drama will be the collaboration work of director Kim Chul Gyu (Celebrity and Flower of Evil) and writers Sung Yoon Ah and Cho Won Dong. It will be produced by KT Studio Genie and Betty & Creators. 

Riding Life will tell the story of a single working mother who is raising her daughter. It will showcase the various relationships between families and the issues in our society including private education, parenting, and more. The K-drama will be based on the novel of the same name. 

The upcoming K-drama will begin filming soon and the series will be released in the first half of 2025. The K-drama will exclusively premiere on ENA. 

 

 

Jeon Hye Jin will portray the role of Lee Jung Eun. She is a fierce marketer who works in the beauty industry. She strives to keep up with her 7-year-old daughter's education. 

Jung Jin Young will give life to the character named Lee Young Wook. He is a professor of English literature and will share a romance with Lee Jung Eun's mother. He will reunite with Yoon Ji Ah at their grandchildren's academy. 

Jo Min Soo will portray the role of Yoon Ji Ah. She will play the role of a child art therapist at a university hospital. She is also the mother of Jeon Hye Jin's character Lee Jung Eun who also raised her daughter alone without a husband.

Lastly, Jun Suk Ho will portray the role of Hong Jae Man, the husband of Jeon Hye Jin's character Lee Jung Eun. He works as a home shopping MD. He is an immature husband who gets slapped by his wife on a daily. He is having a hard time at work due to his poor performance.

Casting info for upcoming ENA family healing drama Riding Life has been announced, tackling the dynamics between mothers and daughters through its main characters Jeon Hye-jin (Not Others) and her mother Jo Min-soo (The Cursed).

The drama centers on Lee Jung-eun (Jeon Hye-jin) and her journey as a working mom to a precocious seven-year-old daughter. Raised by her single mother, a hospital therapist named Yoon Ji-ah (Jo Min-soo), Jung-eun is resentful at how she had to grow up quickly as a child, and wants to give her daughter a life different from hers.

 

However, that’s easier said than done when you’re working in the busy beauty marketing industry with its slogging hours. Not to mention Jung-eun’s husband — played by Jeon Suk-ho (Love Next Door) — is not the most dependable of fathers at the moment with his own job as a home shopping marketer. Although he’s devoted to his family, his immaturity at home and poor job performance at work create lots of tension between him and Jung-eun.

It’s this stressful situation that leads Ji-ah to reenter her daughter’s life through caring for her granddaughter. At Jung-eun’s request, Ji-ah starts to take her daughter to school on her bicycle, and encounters an exciting new world on her bike route. This leads Ji-ah to open herself up to new possibilities — and maybe even romance with the cute English professor and fellow biking grandfather played by Jung Jin-young (Queen of Tears).

Everything about this drama is promising family healing and intergenerational love. Especially since this is Jeon Hye-jin’s first drama after the tragic loss of her husband, I hope this drama delivers on its promise to show that even the messiest of families can find hope and come together.

Written by Sung Yoon-ah and directed by Kim Chul-gyu (Celebrity), Riding Life is expected to release on ENA in the first half of next year.
