Murky Water is a fictional historical K-drama that revolves around a man who started as a warhead in Mapo-naru, the center of Joseon's logistics and economy, and eventually becomes a legend of Joseon.

 

He was known as a  gangster at Han River’s Mapo Port and eventually will become a Joseon legend because of his body and skills.

SF9's Rowoon in Talks to Lead a New Historical K-Drama!

SF9's Rowoon will reportedly star in another historical K-drama titled Takryu (literal translation). 

On June 28, media outlets reported that Rowoon has been picked as the main lead of the historical K-drama Takryu. 

Rowoon's agency FNC Entertainment responded to the casting news. According to the agency, Takryu is one of the works that is currently being reviewed by Rowoon. He hasn't confirmed his appearance yet. 

Takryu will tell the story of a man who was a gangster that will become a legend in Joseon. He was known as a  gangster at Han River’s Mapo Port and eventually will become a Joseon legend because of his body and skills. 

The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Chun Sung Il who is also known for helming the K-dramas All of Us Are Dead, L.U.C.A.: The Beginning, 7th Grade Civil Servant, The Fugitive: Plan B, The Slave Hunters, and more. 

Currently, there are still no details on the broadcast date and channel of the upcoming historical K-drama Takryu. There is also no other information on the possible actors that will work alongside Rowoon in the upcoming series. 

If Rowoon confirms his casting, this will be his second upcoming historical K-drama project. The idol actor is also set to lead the upcoming K-drama The Battle of Marriage with Jo Yi Hyun. 

Rowoon will also star in the new K-drama Destined With You together with Jo Bo Ah, Ha Joon, Girls Day's Yura, Hyun Bong Sik, and Park Kyung Hye.

He is known for being part of the K-dramas Tomorrow, The King's Affection, She Would Never Know, Was It Love?, Extraordinary You, Where Stars Land, About Time, and more.

Rowoon may be appearing in a new historical drama!

On June 28, Xportsnews reported that Rowoon is in talks to star as the male lead for the new drama “Takryu” (romanized title).

In response to the report, Rowoon’s agency FNC Entertainment stated, “[‘Takryu’] is one of the projects that he is reviewing [the offer for].”

“Takryu” is the second historical drama by writer Cheon Sung Il who led the success of ”The Slave Hunters.” The drama will tell the story of a man who starts out as a gangster at Han River’s Mapo Port, the hub of logistics and economy in Joseon Dynasty, becoming a legend of Joseon solely with his body.

Rowoon is currently in talks for another historical drama “Wedding Match” (working title). The actor is also gearing up for his upcoming drama “Destined with You” with Jo Bo Ah.

Park Seoham may be gearing up for his first project after his military service!

On July 19, STARNEWS reported that Park Seoham will be joining the cast of “Takryu” (romanized title).

In response to the report, Park Seoham’s agency npio Entertainment shared, “Nothing has been confirmed for his activities following his discharge from the military.” Previously in March 2022, Park Seoham enlisted as a public service worker to complete his mandatory military service.

Rowoon and Park Seo Ham are in discussion to work alongside director Choo Chang Min in the upcoming K-drama Murky Water.

According to media outlet OSEN on December 19, the upcoming K-drama Murky Water is expected to premiere on Disney+. It was also revealed that Rowoon and Park Seo Ham will possibly be the main leads of the new series. The K-drama will reportedly begin its filming in February of next year. 

Murky Water is a fictional historical K-drama that revolves around a man who started as a warhead in Mapo-naru, the center of Joseon's logistics and economy, and eventually becomes a legend of Joseon.

The upcoming series will be the first K-drama project of director Choo Chang Min. He is known for creating the films Seven Years of Night, Masquerade, Late Blossom, Lost in Love, and more. The script will be written by Chun Sung Il who created the hit K-dramas All of Us Are Dead, L.U.C.A.: The Beginning, Your Honor, King the Land, and more. NPIO Entertainment and New will produce it. 

Rowoon was the first to receive the offer to lead the K-drama. Park Seo Ham also received the offer and according to his agency, the actor is still reviewing it and there's no official confirmation yet on his casting.

There is no confirmation yet on the release date of the upcoming Disney+ K-drama Murky Water.

 

 

If Rowoon confirms his casting, this will be his first upcoming K-drama for 2024. This will also possibly be his first-ever Disney+ K-drama. Rowoon is currently starring in the KBS K-drama The Matchmakers with Cho Yi Hyun, Jo Han Chul, Lee Ye Joo, Park Ji Young, and Lee Hae Young. This year has been a busy one for Rowoon as he starred in several K-dramas such as Destined with You, A Time Called You, and the ongoing KBS one. 

Meanwhile, this will possibly be the comeback K-drama of Park Seo Ham after two years. This will also possibly be his first official project after being discharged from the military. He was last seen in the hit BL K-drama Semantic Error with Park Jae Chan, Song Ji Oh, Kim Noh Jin, Kim Won Ki, and Cha Jae Hoon.

On February 20, media outlet Hankook Ilbo reported that Shin Ye Eun had been cast in the new drama “Takryu” (romanized title).

In response to the report, Shin Ye Eun’s agency NPIO Entertainment shared, “She is positively reviewing [the offer] to star in ‘Takryu.’”

Last year, Rowoon’s agency shared that he was in talks for the male lead role in the drama. Similarly, Park Seoham was also reported to be in discussions for a role in “Takryu.”

Kim Soo Hyun and Park Eun Bin's K-drama father Jeon Bae Soo confirms his next work.

On April 30, actor Jeon Bae Soo revealed his next project after the hit tvN K-drama Queen of Tears. According to media outlet Star News, the actor will join the cast of the upcoming Disney+ historical K-drama Murky Water. 

This will be one of the upcoming K-dramas of Jeon Bae Soo. He will also join the cast of the upcoming series The Whirlwind, Queen Woo, and Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2. 

Aside from several upcoming K-dramas, the actor is also booked and busy with several movie castings. Jeon Bae Soo will also star in the new films The Grotesque Train, Control, and The Land of Happiness. 

Jeon Bae Soo recently starred in the highest tvN K-drama rating of all time, Queen of Tears. He starred as the father of Kim Soo Hyun's character Baek Hyun Woo. 

He is also known for being the father of Park Eun Bin in the hit ENA K-drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo. 

Jeon Bae Soo has starred in various hit projects such as Queen of Tears, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, All of Us Are Dead, Mr. Queen, When the Camellia Blooms, Stranger, Fight for My Way, and more.

 

 

Murky Water is a fictional historical K-drama. It will revolve around a man who started from the bottom and stepped up to a legendary status. The story will showcase power and ambition in the Joseon era. 

Jeon Bae Soo will work alongside Rowoon, Shin Ye Eun, Park Seo Ham, Park Ji Hwan, and Kim Dong Won. 

Murky Water will be the next work of director Choo Chang Min (Masquerade) and writer Chun Sung Il (All of Us Are Dead). Both the director and writer have previously worked with actor Jeon Bae Soo.

Jeon Bae Soo will portray the role of Kang Won Soo, the head of Hanyang's upper stage.

Murky Water is set to have its first script reading next month. The cast and crew will also begin filming soon.

The upcoming K-drama will exclusively premiere on Disney+ and it will have a total of 9 episodes.
