larus
Netflix Confirms Production of "Melo Movie", Starring Choi Woo Shik, Park Bo Young, Lee Jun Young by Lily Alice, February 22, 2024 0 Netflix has officially confirmed the production of a new series titled Melo Movie and unveiled its lineup on February 22. Melo Movie is about youths who want to dream, inspire and rely on one another, and overcome their traumas. The K-drama will be directed by Oh Choong Hwan (My Love from the Star, Doctors, While You Were Sleeping, Hotel del Luna, Start-Up, Big Mouth, Castaway Diva), and the screenplay will be penned by Our Beloved Summer Lee Na Eun. Melo Movie stars Choi Woo Shik, Park Bo Young, Lee Jun Young, Jeon So Nee, and Kim Jae Wook. Choi Woo Sik plays Ko Gyeom, a man who goes from being a supporting actor to a film critic. He loves movies to the extent that he dreams of watching every movie ever made. He becomes very curious about Kim Moo Bi, whose name sounds like "movie". Park Bo Young takes on the role of Kim Moo Bi, a character who steps into the film industry feeling a mixture of love and hatred for her father — who valued movies more than anything — and thinking, "What's so special about movies." Ko Gyeom, a man who stands out too much, suddenly barges into the life of Kim Moo Bi, who wants to live quietly in the world, and brings about change. larus
Choi Woo-shik and Park Bo-young film a Melo Movie by solstices Production has begun for the upcoming Netflix original Melo Movie, featuring a healing romance set in the titular melo genre. Centered around the youthful dreams of individuals in the creative industry, the drama will portray their journey towards mending the wounds of the past and painting a brighter future. Choi Woo-shik (A Killer Paradox) stars as the supporting actor-turned-film critic Go Gyeom, who eats, sleeps, and breathes film. If Gyeom had forty-eight hours in a day, he’d spend every last second watching movies. Given his proclivity for cinema, it’s practically a stroke of fate that brings him and a peculiarly-named individual together on a film project. That person is Kim Mu-bi, or Kim “Movie,” played by Park Bo-young (Daily Dose of Sunshine). Having followed in her father’s footsteps out of curiosity towards her namesake, Mu-bi has since risen through the ranks and become a film director. As someone who prefers to stay out of the spotlight, Mu-bi’s career has been characterized by unassuming competence — that is, until Gyeom joins the picture. On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have Lee Jun-young (May I Help You) as the idealistic dreamer Hong Shi-joon. Harboring a lifelong dream of becoming an acclaimed composer, Shi-joon believes he possesses the talents of a natural-born genius. However, reality tells a different tale, given he’s still a no-name songwriter. Still, his sunny optimism and quirky personality keep him upbeat and unfazed. Rounding out our creative quartet, Jeon So-ni (Our Blooming Youth) plays the successful scenario writer Sohn Joo-ah. She may have grown up treading a smooth path and wanting for nothing, but she’s about to throw a spanner into the works — she’s the ex-girlfriend of both Gyeom and Shi-joon. Uh-oh, this is going to get thorny. Still, there’s Kim Jae-wook (Death’s Game) in the cast list, which means I can’t contain my excitement and expectations from soaring sky-high. Directed by Oh Chung-hwan (Castaway Diva) with scripts written by Lee Na-eun (Our Beloved Summer), Melo Movie has yet to set a release date. https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/02/choi-woo-shik-and-park-bo-young-film-a-melo-movie/
