@larus  I think Shin Cha il doesn’t what to cross the CEO yet. He still want to to check the fraudulent case maybe not bc he believes that Seo Jin joined with connections but bc he want to root all the problems down.

we have seen flashes about his past. So could it be that JU was involved his past.?

the family dynamic between brothers been really interesting.

It is interesting to see what happens when the oldest wakes up. Do we know what happened to him?

I trust Cha Il to do the right thing. He is not taking the CEO`s side but I still have a feeling that Hwang Se Woong uses him. But as I said, Shin Cha Il will not hesitate to investigate even the CEO if he will have evidence. I have to watch the episode 9 to see the whole picture, but I hope the whole investigation of the Vice President is not  just about the suspision about the illegal employment. It doesn`t seem a serious case and looks just an improvisation of the writer, an excuse to bring harm to VP.  I am all for investigating Hwang Dae woong because they need to explore more about his character but I am hoping to have another suspisions than his connection to Seo Jin.

I can`t say that J-BIMS`s case was impressive either. It is hard to believe that just one man made such a big mess to a company and I did not understand the need of making Lee Je Hoon to be the industrial spy when it was the one in charge. I guess  he was consumed by the greed too much.

@larus  it would be so nice too see Cha iL and Dae Woong to be on the same side.

you know when the J-Bims story came I so knew that Je Hoon was the spy. But you right is was so mess.
But it was interesting bc AI is real problem in many parts. It is replacing people.  But I just don’t how it could work in construction sites.

The Auditors: Episodes 7-8

by lovepark

A schism erupts in the auditing department as one of our young members clashes with his team leader over a bullying scandal. However, things are not as they appear for both our heroes and the case they are investigating. As our auditors learn more about the people involved in this latest incident, they discover a more serious crime that may cost their company billions of won if they don’t stop it in time.

EPISODES 7-8

The bullying case from last week turns into a bigger headache for our auditors as Han-soo finds traces of a data leak. Our young hero gets into an argument with Cha-il when the latter asks for evidence to support his claim, and Han-soo storms out of the office to handle the situation himself. His brilliant idea to catch the suspect is to hack into his company computer, which, unsurprisingly, backfires.

By the time all the relevant parties arrive, the link proving that someone in the technology development department tried to sell J-BIMS has disappeared. Cha-il apologizes to Section Chief Lee Ji-hoon for his subordinate’s mistake and then reprimands Han-soo in private for getting caught. Apparently, after their earlier fight, Cha-il told Han-soo that he agreed with his assessment but believed the real culprit was the section chief. He allowed Han-soo to investigate on his own under the condition that he do so discreetly, but we all know how that went.

Cha-il tasks Han-soo with keeping tabs on Ji-hoon, so he follows him after work to a clandestine meeting where he witnesses him exchange something with another man. Han-soo’s poor tailing skills get him caught, though, and as the other man starts to hit him, Cha-il swoops in to save the day. Once they apprehend the man, they realize he is a passport forger, and while this does make Ji-hoon more suspicious, it does not prove that he is stealing J-BIMS. Time for a change of plans!

Chief Park of the technology development department clocks out of work past three in the morning due to the extra duties Ji-hoon hoisted on him for the upcoming demonstration, and his rotten day gets worse when he stumbles upon the auditing team in the elevators. Cha-il escorts him to their office for questioning, and Chief Park has no other option than to comply since the case isn’t just about bullying Yoon-woo anymore.

While Han-soo was preoccupied with his hacking plan, Cha-il went around investigating Ji-hoon’s past and learned that he had a history of workplace bullying. He believes Chief Park is the latest victim, but they aren’t here in a poorly lit office to talk about that. On cue, Seo-jin presents her findings — Han-soo is not the only auditor working with the team leader — and shows the chief the list of security protocols he broke. This trail of “evidence” suggests that the chief is trying to leak J-BIMS, which, in fact, is part of Ji-hoon’s scheme to pin his crimes on him.

Realizing the truth, the chief finally confesses to helping Ji-hoon try to transfer Yoon-woo, but he swears that he did not know about the data leak. With the chief now on their side, Cha-il instructs him to report back any suspicious behaviors by Ji-hoon during the demonstration since they think the hand-off will occur during the event. It’s a risky move by the auditing team since President Se-woong already ordered them to postpone their investigation until after the big day, but clearly, Cha-il does not care about company hierarchies and politicking.

On the day of the event, Ji-hoon makes some strange requests before the presentation such as uploading the program to a cloud server with a flimsy password and timing the slides to a particular minute. These all serve as codes for the broker in the audience to access J-BIMS, and right when Ji-hoon’s starts getting into the details of the program, the lights turn on. Cha-il interrupts the section chief to ask a question and turns his attention to a man with a press badge who hasn’t typed a single sentence.

Se-woong jumps from his seat to confront Cha-il and warns him that he better have an explanation for all of this. Without even addressing the president, our auditor begins his rundown of the situation and lays out all of Ji-hoon’s plans to sell J-BIMS. He even figured out that the section chief switched methods right before the event and the cloud password was a cover-up. Instead, the real copy of J-BIMS he intended to sell is hidden inside his tumbler, and Cha-il reveals the secret chip, proving his theory correct.

Cornered, Ji-hoon grabs the tumbler from Cha-il and dashes out of the hall. He runs into the server room where he destroys everything and then heads to his office to delete the rest of the program. Now the only existing copy of J-BIMS is the chip he holds, and Ji-hoon taunts Se-woong to buy out the broker if he wants his precious program back. Though Se-woong offers Ji-hoon a plea bargain in exchange for J-BIMS, the section chief laughs and tosses the tumbler out of the window. He jeers at Se-woong to call him since the last remaining version of J-BIMS resides in his head, and the police drag away the maniacal man.

I never felt that they are really in the oposing sides. 😄  I love their interaction. Antagonistic but not really. 😀 Dae Woong said that he will be glad to see Cha Il gone and his perfect respons : `I look forward to it. `🤣

Shin Cha Il has to be impartial. He was hired to investigate internal problems, coruption and that`s what he is doing. Dae Woong is too impulsive sometimes. He feels that his brother, Hwang  Se Woong, put him on the Audit Team to go against his interests but I also believe he will be the first to hire Cha Il back because he will see that he is impartial and really wants the well of the company.

Ep 9

The team of Shin Cha Il and Hwang Dae Woong is so funny. They are totally opposite in personality and that`s what makes it so funny to watch. I want more.

Dae Woong and Seo Jin are not blood related. Does the youngest of Hwang brothers have a different mother? The question remains.  Why they were so distant? Dae woong must have felt so lonely in that house that only a housekeeper and her daughter gave him some comfort. He consider them as real family.

Singer Kim So-yeon, drama 'Thank You' OST 'I'll Be There' released today (4th)

573229_593572_5550.jpg

Kim So-yeon, who received favorable reviews for her unique voice in 'Singer Gain 2', will participate as the last runner for the OST of tvN's Sat-Sun drama 'Thank You'.

'Thank You' (written by Choi Min-ho / directed by Kwon Young-il, Joo Sang-gyu / planned by Studio Dragon / produced by Philcon Studio) is a full-fledged office cleaning drama about the rational audit team leader Shin Cha-il (played by Shin Ha-kyun) and the emotional rookie Goo Han-soo (played by Lee Jung-ha) who come to get rid of the rats that are eating away at the company, set against the backdrop of the JU Construction audit team where embezzlement, corruption, and accidents are constant.

The combination of Cha-il (played by Shin Ha-kyun) and Han-soo (played by Lee Jung-ha) who become thicker as they solve cases is warming up the living room theater, and the OST Part 3 'I'll Be There - Kim So-yeon' is being released.

'I'll Be There' is a song that presents a gentle resonance with Kim So-yeon's appealing voice that is like a monologue over a restrained guitar melody. The lyrics, which seem to comfort the hearts of those who are tired from the difficult daily lives, add depth to the emotional lines of the characters in the play.

573229_593573_563.jpg

Singer-songwriter Kim So-yeon was praised as the 'voice of God's blessing' while performing as the 7th singer on JTBC's 'Singer Gain 2'. She is receiving much love from listeners as she is gaining attention for her outstanding singing ability and unique unique tone.

Through her recently released single 'Greed', she is continuing her active music activities by proving her all-round artist side with her self-composed song about a breakup that honestly expresses her feelings.

For 'I Will Be There', composers Chae Tae-sik, Choi Hee-tae, and Park Jin-ah, who have shown high perfection in many OSTs such as 'Boyhood', 'Beopjjyeon', and 'Secret Man and Woman', collaborated to create a well-made OST that adds a lot of atmosphere to the drama.

Meanwhile, 'Thank You' OST Part. 3 'I Will Be There' featuring Kim So-yeon will be released on various music platforms at 6 PM today, the 4th. [Photo = Provided by Most Contents]

The Auditors: Episodes 9-10

by lovepark

The relationship between our young auditor and the vice president becomes the talk of the town, but thankfully, none of her team members believe the baseless accusations. Unfortunately, they are not the ones our auditors have to convince, so in order to clear their names, our heroes need evidence to prove that someone else is trying to take them down.

EPISODES 9-10

Rumors concerning Seo-jin and Dae-woong circulate throughout the company ranging from curiosity to salaciousness, but while most people jump to false conclusions, level-headed Cha-il treats this like any other auditing case. After interviewing the accused parties and reviewing the hiring data, our team leader reports back to the president that nothing untoward occurred. Alas, Se-woong is not bighearted enough to let an opportunity slip through his fingers — especially not when his reputation is in the toilet — so he hires an external auditor for a more objective opinion.

Dae-woong confronts Se-woong for his underhanded tactic and warns him to leave his family alone. Seo-jin’s mom was the only person who truly took care of him while he suffered in that house, but Se-woong scoffs at his half-brother and mocks him for getting close with the help. With no one else to help him in this fight, Dae-woong turns to Han-soo and asks if the auditing team is abandoning one of their own. While he cannot divulge the details of their work, Han-soo explains that Cha-il ordered the team to continue their investigation into the hiring process since they believe the true culprit used Seo-jin to misdirect.

This leads to an unexpected tag team between Cha-il and Dae-woong as they both interrogate the previous HR department team leader, and our cold auditor actually becomes the “good cop” next to the vice president’s more threatening aura. Their blossoming bromance continues as Dae-woong catches a ride with Cha-il (in the backseat of course), and the subtle expression changes Dae-woong’s brazen attitude elicits from the usually stoic Cha-il are downright hilarious. Why are we only getting these gems in the second to last week? I want more of this reluctant buddy relationship!

The auditing team finds the “misplaced” (aka, intentionally hidden) hiring documents from four years ago in an off-site storage center, but two men attack our auditors in an attempt to steal the data. Luckily, Cha-il and Dae-woong arrive right in time to block the thieves and work together to apprehend them. However, all their efforts are for nothing since they receive a call that some other thugs attacked senior auditor Moon’s car and took the documents.

Though our heroes figure out that the assistant manager from the HR department hired the first group of thieves, without the stolen documents, they have no evidence against her. As they stand at an impasse, something else about this case does not add up. Thus, our main trio investigate on their own from different angles and come to the same conclusion: Auditor Moon lied. Cornered by his team, Auditor Moon confesses to uploading the pictures of Seo-jin because he, too, committed fraud to get hired at JU Construction.

After graduating from college, Auditor Moon never got passed the first round despite his good grades and skills. He wondered if his education was holding him back, so as an experiment, he lied about his school on his resume. However, when he got hired at JU Construction as a result, he decided to maintain the ruse. Auditor Moon apologizes to Seo-jin for dragging her into this mess and returns the documents he stole. With this, the auditing team fires both their own member as well as the HR department’s employee and clears Seo-jin’s name.

Team Dramabeans: What we’re watching (August 10, 2024)

by DB Staff

So, what are we all watching this week?

What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

missvictrix

The Auditors: I take back whatever I thought or said out loud. Jin Gu looks amazing with long hair.

DaebakGrits

The Auditors: I was not expecting to like this drama, but I think I needed something a little formulaic that I could passively watch while doom scrolling on my phone before bed. I can’t say that I’m in love with the younger cast members all that much, but the tension between Cha-il and the morally gray Dae-woong is terrific. Loved their team up, and I’m rooting for Dae-woong to lead the family empire.

The Auditors: Episodes 11-12 (Final)

by lovepark

Murders, betrayals, and twists dominate this finale as our heroes tackle their biggest case yet. As they investigate the top two people at their company, our auditors put their lives on the line to uncover the truth. Though others might not understand why they risk so much for their jobs, their work could mean life or death to some, which is why they won’t give up until every single rat is caught. It’s time to audit!

EPISODES 11-12

The last week of The Auditors kicks off with the death of the ex-president (aka, the eldest Hwang brother), but his supposed health crisis smells of foul play. Cha-il believes he was murdered, and the culprit is the one who is currently in control of the previous president’s slush funds. While the auditing team discovers how the money was siphoned — through a paper company in Florida — they don’t know if the owner is Se-woong or Dae-woong.

The entire auditing team works together in secret to catch the rat, including Seo-jin who puts aside her personal feelings in order to remain objective, and all their individual skills come together to solve the case in four days. (Even the gossiping auditor plays his part!) They learn that the new director of the outsourcing department is connected to the slush funds, and though on the surface Director Chae appears to work for Dae-woong, he actually got the position through Se-woong. Thus, the suspects list narrows down to one.

After getting confronted by Cha-il about the paper company, Director Chae leaves to meet his boss — just as our heroes planned. However, Cha-il underestimated his enemy since his trap turns into his grave. As our team leader follows the director into a construction site, both are knocked out by Se-woong who then sets the place on fire. It seems the president has fully embraced his villain-era.

Tied to a pillar and losing consciousness, Cha-il chokes on the smoke as the flames threaten to engulf him, but right then, Dae-woong appears to save the day. He takes Cha-il and Director Chae to the hospital, and though the doctor warns Cha-il to stay for treatment, our hero has no time for rest. He needs to stop the funeral!

Our auditors arrive in time to block the procession, and Cha-il declares that the ex-president was murdered. He asks for an autopsy, which Se-woong objects for obvious reasons, but Cha-il’s target is not him — it’s the wife. Knowing exactly how to manipulate her, he accuses Dae-woong of killing the ex-president, and the wife falls for the bait. Having agreed to Cha-il’s plan beforehand, Dae-woong doesn’t bat an eye, and instead, he approaches the real murderer and goads him to lighten up.

Dae-woong returns to check on his boyfriend Cha-il and takes his frenemy to the hospital. Despite the others urging him to rest for a while longer, Cha-il gets back to work since their foe won’t wait, and unfortunately, our lead auditor is correct. Without missing a beat, Se-woong strikes the team first by stealing all of Director Chae’s documents and transferring Cha-il to the “support” department (i.e., an abandoned office in the basement). Now the only course of action left for our heroes is to wait for the director to wake up, but even that option disappears when Director Chae passes away.

All goes according to Se-woong’s plan, and while the police detain Dae-woong for questioning, our villainous president holds an emergency board meeting to dismiss the vice president for embezzlement, bribery, and murder. Just as the motion passes with a majority vote, Dae-woong barges into the room and announces his own agenda: the dismissal of the president. On what grounds? The exact ones Se-woong accused him of committing.

Enter Cha-il and his crew — not as auditors, but as witnesses — and the same presentation plays over again, except this time, Dae-woong’s photos are replaced by the president. Se-woong demands Cha-il to prove his claims with evidence, so our team leader brandishes the records Director Chae left behind of all their dealings. Even cornered, Se-woong refuses to bend and tells the board that he used those secret funds for company projects. Since he never spent any of it personally, it does not count as malpractice before the law.

Cha-il agrees… if that were truly the case, and then switches the screen to a news outlet. The government official on Se-woong’s payroll holds a press conference blaming JU Construction’s president of bribing him, which means Se-woong did, in fact, use company money for personal gains. Accepting his loss, Se-woong turns to leave, but Cha-il stops him since he has one more point to discuss: the president is also a murderer.
