Lee Dong Wook in discussions to lead a new drama!

Lee Dong Wook will reportedly lead a new drama directed by Song Hae Sung and written by Kim Woon Kyung.

On September 29th, it was reported that Lee Dong Wook will be the main lead of the upcoming drama "The Good Man." He will be working with the "Boomerang Family" director and "Yoo Na's Street" writer. 

Lee Dong Wook's agency King Kong by Starship responded to the reports and stated that the actor is currently reviewing the offer to appear in "The Good Man." 

"The Good Man" will revolve around Seok Cheol, the eldest grandson of the three generations of gangsters who protects his family, work, and love. 

The upcoming series will be produced by Hive MediaCorp. The production aims to finalize casting this year and will begin filming in the first quarter of 2023. 

There are no details yet on the broadcast date and channel for "The Good Man."

 

 

If Lee Dong Wook confirms his casting, this will be his second upcoming drama for 2023. The actor is set to return to the new seasons of "Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938" and "Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 3." 

For 2022, the actor did not appear in any dramas. He is currently busy filming for "Tale of the Nine-Tailed" new seasons and he will also appear in the upcoming movie "Single in Seoul" with Im Soo Jung, Esom, Lee Mi Do, Jang Hyun Sung, and Lee Sang Yi.

Lee Dong Wook last starred in the 2021 series "Bad and Crazy" with Wi Ha Joon, Han Ji Eun, VIXX's Cha Hak Yeon, Sung Ji Ru, and Cha Shi Won.

Ryu Hye Young is currently in discussion to join the upcoming SBS k-drama The Good Man.

According to industry insiders on March 3, Ryu Hye Young will be working with Lee Dong Wook in the upcoming thriller romance k-drama The Good Man. The two will reportedly work as siblings in the series. 

Ryu Hye Young's agency King Kong by Starship responded to the casting reports. The agency revealed that Ryu Hye Young is positively reviewing to star in the upcoming k-drama The Good Man. Nothing has been decided yet. Both Lee Dong Wook and Ryu Hye Young are under King Kong by Starship. 

If Ryu Hye Young confirms her casting, this will be her second time working with Lee Dong Wook. The two participated in the entertainment program The Game Caterers Season 2 in 2022. 

Many are already anticipating the next projects of Ryu Hye Young as she has accumulated solid filmography such as Reply 1988,  Dear My Room, Law School, Fatal Intuition, and more.

No news about this drama. I think they will start filming in early 2024.

 

I wonder If the love interest for the protagonist will have an important role in this drama. I hope there are other casting news because we`ll find out more informations about the relationships of the main characters.
I just looked at the writer`s past dramas. He doesn`t seam to use the actors from previous works like other writers or directors but who knows... I just wish someone close in age with Lee dong Wook.  We`ll see who they cast for the female lead.

 

We also did not know for sure if Yoo Jae Myung and Jo Woo Jin will appear in it after all. The news article about their cast was removed.
