I'm not sure if she'll be playing a mother (as in.. there being a son already) in Dawn, just that she'll be playing the birth mother of King Sejong. So it might be that it's about King Sejong's birth mother's life before giving birth to him. And it's not that surprising if she does play a mother, it is historical times >< lol

A majority of the news articles are reporting that Hyojoo is confirmed as the protagonist, and then there are a few stating that nothing's official yet and that there are several candidates T_T

I just want to see Hyojoo in a drama again! Dong Yi is a high-budget sageuk with pretty much a guarantee of success, judging from the PD's previous works. *sighs.

lolz, I think I'm the only one excited about this drama.

As I've said before, I like historical dramas. And reading that the PD for "Dong Yi" is gonna be Dae JangGeum's PD, man, that got me excited! Dae JangGeum is like one of my top 3 favorite dramas of all time! It was sooo good and there were lots of lessons to share. I can sense the PD will be as good here as he was in DJG.

But isn't Ji Jin Hee the lead actor in Dae JangGeum also? That means he's a lot older than Hyo Joo oh but anyways, maybe they were given those roles because it fits them.

And awwww...that little Eunchae is gonna be the little Hyo joo again. I like that kid. She was so sweet in Iljimae.

But I can't help but laugh when the PD stated that he chose Hyo joo because she projects tranquility onscreen. Lolz, It makes me smile to read someone place tranquility and Hyo joo in one sentence, haha. Hyo joo's sooo.... random she makes ME want to calm down, haha.

I'm also disappointed for Falling In Love but maybe she finds the role for FIL alot similar to Eunsung? I don't know, I'm trying to guess the reason behind it. We don't know the concept of FIL but the PD said the role fits Hyo Joo to a T.

Or maybe she finds it too soon for her to take a role where people will still be reminded of Eunsung. I totally love Eunsung, and Hyojoo has played her sooo well that most of the time I tend to think that ES and HHJ are one and the same. I mean I know the other one is just a character but I couldn't help it.I mean BL has become a national drama due to its popularity in Korea so maybe she just wants to shed off a bit of her Eunsung image on the people's mind.

Hmmm, plus its also MBC. FIL is MBC, Dong Yi is MBC, lolz I don't know why I'm stating that.

If I'm not mistaken.. It's possible that Dong Yi will air after Falling In Love? Falling in Love was slated to start broadcasting in January.. it's rumored to have at least 16 episodes, so that means it'll broadcast for about two months, which will then be March, Dong Yi's scheduled broadcast month.

Sadly.. it seems like nothing is confirmed yet. But BH Ent. said that a definite agreement is expected sometime this week. I hope it's Hyojoo too

Han Hyo Joo has decided on her new kdrama after the hit, Brilliant Legacy. She was originally cast for Chuno but pulled out early on. Her co-star will be Ji Jin Hee (The Man Who Can’t Get Married). The drama will have sageuk specialist, Director Lee Byung Hoon (Yi San, Dae Jang Geum) at the helm.

Dong Yi is set during the reign of King Sukjong in the Joseon dynasty. Han Hyo Joo plays a court maid who finds favor with the king and rises to become his concubine. Her son would later become the 21st king of Joseon, King Yeongjo. Han Hyo Joo’s character will be the main focus of the story.

The pair have sageuk experience: Han Hyo Joo in the fusion sageuk Iljimae and Ji Jin Hee in Dae Jang Geum. I’m not really sold on Han Hyo Joo yet, but she does have the face for sageuks.

After gaining a lot of popularity through the drama Shining Inheritance and being a cast for an internet drama, Han Hyo Joo who received a love call from director Lee Byung Hoon PD will make her comeback through MBC's Dongyi.

Han Hyo Joo will join hanryu stars Lee Young Ae and Han Ji Min, as Lee Byung Hoon PD has had success with his past dramas Heo Joon, Sang Do, Dae Jang Geum and Lee San. It is rumored to be a high possibility for Han Hyo Joo to partner up with Ji Jin Hee, who was once a cast of Dae Jang Geum.
