Normally I'm not a big fan of any actresses born after 1980, but Park Yeh Jin is an exception.

From innocent, naive girl, to vixen, she can do it all. She's been in some really bad to horrible dramas (her movies aren't too memorable either) like 환생 NEXT and 남자가 사랑할 때 (when a man loves), but you can't blame horrible writing on her. Probably most familiar in 네자매 이야기 (4 sisters story) or 발리에서 생긴 일 (what happened in bali), but 그대를 알고부터 (since we met) and 장희빈 (jang hee bin) are also good works from her.

I like her. She's a good actress. I thought she was really underrated while WHIB was airing; I honestly preferred her character to Ha Ji Won's at times. And she did a really good job in that drama.

Also love her in Little Women. I still remember that one scene where she looked up at the cherry blossoms, so sad...Okay, I won't give away any spoilers. ^^;;

By the way, WHIB is from 2004 (right before Little Women), and When A Man Loves is from 2003. ;)

In most recent news, Park Yeh Jin was at singer Unee's 빈소 (don't really know what to call it in English.. it's like the memorial place for people who passed away, I guess mortuary).

I didn't even know they were friends.

The new year is starting with too many untimely deaths. RIP Unee and Kim Hyeong Eun.

i've been a fan of hers since 네자매 이야기 (she was my favorite character in the drama). shes a great actress but quite underrated. hope to see more projects from her in the future.

Why am I only drawn to underrated, unpopular stars? I swear, if she stars in one major, hit drama, she would be HUGE. Well, people in Korea know her and she's been in some big dramas like 4 Sisters Story, Jang Hee Bin, Since We Met, What Happened In Bali and I think Little Women actually went over 30%, maybe 20% and Dae Jo Young is doing well, close to 30% in ratings.. But she hasn't exactly starred in any of these, mainly only as second lead or support. Once she gets that big bang in her career, then everyone will finally recognize her talent. For some actors, it comes early in their careers and for others, it comes really, really late.. (ex: Kim Myung Min, IMO one of the most underrated actors in the nineties and he didn't hit it big until late in his career with Immortal Lee Soon Shin. After that drama, he was recognized as one of the best and gave some of the best performances ever like in White Tower this year) Anyways, Park Yeh Jin just needs that one big drama and then people will finally realize how underused she was before.

The drama is extended 20 episodes, making it 120 total ending in November.

We'll see if her character makes it to the end.. I'm predicting she'll die..

Yes.. the SCANDAL.. there doesn't seem to be any truth to it and both sides have confirmed the news is completely false and made up and have no truth to it all.. they are not in a relationship, just friends.

Personally, when it comes to scandals, I think half of them are true and half of them false and based on the information and how each side handled the situation, I think this one is false.

After Dae Jo Young ends I hope she comes back in something more friendly for all ages. At the same time I hope she doesn't end up in some garbage drama like her previous 남자가 사랑할 때.. :sweatingbullets:

ive only recently watched memento mori thinking it wud be a good horror movie since it's apparently a sequel to whispering corridors, but after watching a little way through it i realised i had stumbled across a lesbian schoolgirl drama >_> ... BUT ...!

but despite that, i found PYJ's acting as Hyo Shin splendid!! i really like how she portrayed her character's sublime sense of view of the world and really convincing performance as a young teenager in love and in heartbreak.

for fans of PYJ you must check out memento mori if you appreciate a deep arthouse kinda of film, although the horror elements really are non existent it's still quite a good movie.

but this movie was years ago (1999). so i have no idea how her acting has been over the years but from this thread i can see that she still is a respectable actress, even perhaps understated.

Sadly, I think most actors are limited in what projects they're allowed to participate in. It's all taken care of by TPTB, company and management heads. They're usually restricted, like most actors are under contract by certain stations for a certain amount of dramas they have to fulfill.

I think this movie was the only critical success in her career. Her movies following this weren't nearly as good and she hasn't really been allowed to showcase what she's really capable of in any of her dramas. She's underused.
