Lee Jae Wook Chases After His Goals With A Poker Face In “The Impossible Heir”

Lee Jae Wook will be making a big acting transformation for his next role in Disney+’s “The Impossible Heir”!

“The Impossible Heir” will tell the story of three characters who desire to climb to the top by trying to take the throne of Korea’s largest conglomerate. Lee Jae Wook will take on the role of the cold-blooded yet dignified Han Tae Oh, Lee Jun Young will portray Kang In Ha, a character that has both good and evil sides, and Hong Su Zu will play Na Hye Won.

Lee Jae Wook’s role as Han Tae Oh is a character with exceptional brains and cold rationality. Having been born the son of a murderer, Han Tae Oh runs away from the world and attempts to escape his difficult life by approaching Kang In Ha, the illegitimate son of Korea’s largest conglomerate Kang Oh Group, and together they aim to take down the throne of Korea’s largest conglomerate. With a great sense of ambition, Han Tae Oh strategically takes the lead with a poker face.

Regarding his role, Lee Jae Wook shared, “He’s a persistent character who has to chase a problem to the end and solve it once he decides on a goal. As a figure who is good at maintaining a poker face, he doesn’t show his claws when solving problems.” The actor added, “I put a lot of changes into acting to hide the expressive parts and showcase [the character’s] inner feelings thoroughly. Through ‘The Impossible Heir,’ I think I can show some thorough and calm as well as persistent sides of me.”

Director Min Yeon Hong further shared, “While watching Lee Jae Wook’s career, the way he portrayed diverse characters with depth left an impression. At the same time, I like that he is an actor who showcases his charms to the fullest. I believe if Lee Jae Wook acts as Han Tae Oh, who is always serious and maintains a poker face to not easily show his feelings, I think viewers can relate and feel his charm.”

Watch: Lee Jae Wook And Hong Su Zu Plot To Make Lee Jun Young A Chaebol Heir In “The Impossible Heir” Trailer

Watch: Lee Jae Wook And Hong Su Zu Plot To Make Lee Jun Young A Chaebol Heir In “The Impossible Heir” Trailer

Disney+ has unveiled the main poster and trailer for its upcoming drama “The Impossible Heir”!

“The Impossible Heir” will tell the story of three small-timers who join forces in an attempt to take over Korea’s largest conglomerate. Lee Jae Wook will star as Han Tae Oh, the son of a murderer; U-KISS’s Lee Jun Young will play Kang In Ha, the illegitimate son of a chaebol chairman; and Hong Su Zu will play Na Hye Won, the daughter of a gambler who has burdened her with debt.

The newly released trailer begins by introducing Han Tae Oh, who has lived a difficult life at the bottom of the food chain and is desperate to escape his circumstances. When his murderer father calls him from prison and says, “I want to see my son so badly,” Han Tae Oh is visibly terrified, and he later warns someone with tears in his eyes, “Run away! Just run away, quickly!”

Meanwhile, Kang In Ha faces his own struggles as the illegitimate son of the chairman of Kang Oh Group, Korea’s largest conglomerate. He is unable to even call his own father “Father,” and someone taunts him, “Looks like you’re locked in your room again today and won’t be able to come out.”

Finally, Na Hye Won is accosted by loan sharks who threateningly ask her to pay back the large sum of money her mother—a serial gambler—owes them. Na Hye Won spits back, “Mom? I don’t have a mom.”

Pushed to the brink by their respective circumstances, the trio decides to aim for the very top of the social ladder. Na Hye Won asks, “Didn’t you want to live a different life than the one you’re living now?” Meanwhile, Han Tae Oh tells Kang In Ha, “The power you’re talking about? In my opinion, that’s nothing. Because I have something even stronger than that. Desperation.”

As Kang In Ha aims to become his father’s successor and inherit Kang Oh Group, the story seems to take a violent turn. Kang In Ha then asks his father outright, “If I save you, please officially acknowledge me as chairman Kang Joong Mo’s son, Kang In Ha.”

Na Hye Won declares, “No matter what happens, I’m going to do the things I said I would do,” while Han Tae Oh says, “If you want to achieve your goals, you need to put in at least that much effort.” He then tells Kang In Ha reassuringly, “All eyes will be on you and you alone. Because you’re going to succeed completely.”

Finally, the main poster for the drama sums up the story as “the rebellion of the small-timers at the bottom of the food chain,” while the caption captures the trio’s determination by reading, “We’ll show you how far we can go.”

“The Impossible Heir” will premiere on February 28. Check out the trailer and poster for the drama below!
