This is what happens when they waste 10 episodes on the second lead and have to play catch up in the second half for the main lead and their love story. After the backlash they received during the initial episodes and once they realized how popular SoSoo was, they had to do a lot of damage control with the editing. Looking at the international edit, I don't think they thought SoSoo would be so popular seeing how many scenes were cut. I dunno which dumb guy made the decision to cut back on that, he really should be fired.

I actually think this show could have been done within 20 episodes if they hadn't wasted the first half with some of the useless stuff. I would have liked for them to extend it with more episodes because I really feel like we are given the shorter end of the stick when it comes to SoSoo couple time, every development that happens in one half of the episode is destroyed in the other half.

hi everyone...i'm newbie in this thread. wow.. i wonder why i didn't come here earlier. i love sooso couple as much as LJGLJE couple since.. i can't remember when. i watched many drama but i hardly ship the casts but i can't help it about this couple. their chemistry is amazing, on and off cam. i love reading all your thoughts here so i'm sure and happy since i know it's not just me who adore sosoo couple. and reading about their similarity is amazing. i never follow these actors before mlshr, so a barely know about ljg and iu. but mlshr make me love them.

Nicky is a taekwando specialist too. In fact he could have represented Taiwan in international competition if not because he has to stop school and start working. And LJG is specialized in taekwando and some others which I fail to recall. 

- both found fame at a young age.

Nicky was talent spotted when he was selling clothes at night market. He was part of the trio that forms a boy band known as Little Tiger in Taiwan. They are probably as hot as kPop boy bands in today's context. LJG shot to stardom in his role in King and the Clown. 

- both came from not so well to do families

both had many struggles in life before taking the role of 4th prince - Nicky had to work nonstop for days taking on all projects to earn enough to pay off his father's debts. It took him many many years to pay off the debts fully. LJG had to make do with poor living condition (infested with cockroaches) and taking on different jobs before making any headway in his acting career. He misplaced his trust in friends who swindled his money. Both are humbled by their life experiences which result in such earnest, hardworking men who don't take all these successes for granted. 

- both men love their fans very much and know how to engage them well.

Nicky is always bantering with his fans on weibo. He also loves to comment on his co stars weibo and create lots of interest in BBJX. He's super nice to his fans and has no airs. I know because I've been a long time fan of his since his Little Tiger days and he's been like that ever since. And LJG, we already know by now how much time he invested in updating his social media accounts and doing fan meets and specially prepare songs and dance to entertain his fans. He's often accommodating and bothers to stop and wave and greet his fans. We even see him making effort to use different languages to communicate to his international fans.

- they looked very bit like the 4th prince they portrayed onscreen - aloof, proud, cold and intimidating. But in real life, they are dorky, funny, cute, mood maker, and took it upon themselves to take care of the whole cast, making sure everyone feels comfortable and happy.

Nicky is well known for his mala hotpot during the filming of BBJX. Everyone from cast to back end production crew all get to eat it without prejudice. From healing camp, we know that LJG made an effort to know and remember the names of all the working crew out of respect. 

 

Don't you think they rightly deserved all the love they have gotten so far?? 

 

Regarding Cecilia n IU,

- both were heavily criticized for their "wooden" face and inability to express with their eyes when they were cast as female lead. But both shot to fame after the drama and established themselves as a A-lister. I hope more recognition will be given to IU because i do think she has added so much dimension to the character and I honestly can't think of anyone else as Haesoo. 

- both gals adore dogs. Hehe. Cecilia n Nicky bought a new dog after their marriage. And IU owns a cute dog too. 

 

So there, I'm pouring out my love for the two men whom I've devoted my youth (Nicky) and time, energy & sleep (LJG) to. Hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing this. 

 

One more common denominator of the two men - they know how to cook. LJG when at some point before he became famous tried to become a chef. On the other hand, CL once said in an interview that she loves whatever NW cooks. 

I hope JE knows all these things about JG. I hope she'll open her heart for him. I hope one day i will read in the news that they got married. I hope to talk and see you all here when that happens.

Can my fellow eagle eyed JoonU shippers help me in making the timeline of their kiss scene shooting? From what I could guess looking at how they both gradually lost quite a bit of weight as the shooting went on (LJG especially) This is what the order seems to be:

1)Festival cheek kiss.

2)"Don't lie, do you still love me?" kiss and hug.

3)Surprise kiss from So before HS is thrown out of the palace.

4)HS's acceptance kiss and the proper mutual kiss in the garden.

5)Forced kiss.

What do you guys think?

I started off shipping JoonU casually because of that BTS cut of LJE patting LJG on the chest and batcape scenes. But the latest BTS vids have made me start rooting for them badly and suspecting that there was at least a one-sided crush going on during the filming.

It's possible that they just got really into their characters. But I've been youtubing LJG a lot due to SHR and can't help comparing his behavior around LJE to his behavior in the BTS clips for Two Weeks and Joseon Gunman. I'm not saying he didn't seem playful and cheerful on the sets of TW and JG too (I think that's his default setting in the public eye lol). It's just that he seems more cautious around his previous costars and aware of his image/position compared to how happy and hyper he seems around LJE a bit like a kid on way too much sugar.

@moonlovertales Here's LJG on H C back in 2013 if you're still looking for it. It's pretty LQ though, I haven't been able to find a HQ copy with subs.

i want to share my thoughts about that blow candle thing. i'm pretty sure they did it. it's not just about the candle, they laid down side by side, with haesoo's inner clothes, and the smile 'after' on their face , i think the shadow puppet show itself meant something. i watched that scene and the bts over and over again. the wolf howl, the duck kiss and carressing each other, the bird fly to his nest (i saw iu's hand as a nest for the bird and it landed there), and wangso face while doing it.. i'm sure they did it.

Yes, exactly. Her and Seohyun really carried themselves well which shows how experienced they are in comparison to their other costars.

I agree, it would be very awkward to call IU for his fan meeting considering she is an idol who is already in a relationship. It wouldn't be so awkward if most of the cast also attended but I doubt that being possible since it's LJG's fan meeting.

What arguments is it? I'm not on weibo, I was crazy enough to follow them on many social media platform but weibo was a whole different platform which I couldn't understand at all. I think they are more active in weibo as compared to insta and all?

I think its the first time she is interacting this much with her costar. I'm not sure since I haven't followed her for long  but based on how her fans have reacted, I got that feeling.

The problem is that Koreans rarely repeat any pairings as far as I know, there is too many entertainers so everyday you find a new pair and rarely get to see old ones repeated.

Yeah I know, unni. If only there is really the one like So out there! My daddy kept nagging at me when I was watching this drama (because I am dragging my mom to watch this drama too. And we were so noisy like "Drama Queens". Hahaha!), then he was like " Keep hallucinating! *Sarcasm* Why wouldn't you go get your life and have the real one!"
