I guess we will never know the official answer to the mystery of whether or not Joon Gi was really supposed to go to the LA premiere. My gut feeling though, outside of my shipping, really tells me that he was supposed to go.

Again, we have the Regal LA Stadium website confirming his attendance. It wasn't a "possible attendance," but a "confirmed appearance." We have Milla and Paul saying they can't wait to return the favor to Joon Gi of playing host when he goes to LA. We have, MONTHS AGO, Fraser James telling Joon Gi that he couldn't wait to see him again. Then, after the premiere, Fraser James telling Joon Gi that he was sad and missed Joon Gi at the premiere.

To me, it appears that the cast of RE were all expecting his appearance in LA.

Also, again, it IS Hollywood. Even if his part is minor, it is still Joon Gi's Hollywood debut. It would be a very smart career move to make an appearance, get to know the fans and the crowd, familiarize himself with other people in the industry, and further strengthen his connection with his RE co-workers.

Using the reason of Joon Gi being too tired to travel from HK directly to LA isn't really a plausible one, in my opinion. As a public figure, as a celebrity who frequently travels, he should be very well accustomed to tight schedules and frequent flights. He would have knowledge on how to make the most of the time he has to rest up as he's traveling. From HK to LA, he definitely would have made it on time for the premiere.

As far as we know, Joon Gi had nothing planned in SK after HK... so the statement Namoo released was a bit strange. But, that's my take on it. I respect the different opinions some of us have regarding this. ^^

No problem! I think if LJG were planning to do a fan gathering for RE, the agency would've said something already to coincide with the premiere date of the Korea release. Although he does have that "seeya very very soooon" comment in his IG that's been haunting me, so who knows? lol

Well, to be fair, a lot of the initial speculation about LJG going to LA was prompted by both Milla and LJG themselves, lol.

 

A lot of people thought this meant he might go to the premiere. (Though, tbh, I personally thought this was an open invitation for whenever LJG happened to be in LA, like even on vacation... lol.) I was honestly half-waiting for Namoo to update his schedule, but nothing happened. 

Even with his official schedule, it would've been completely possible for him to go to LA if he flew directly from Hong Kong because of the time zone differences, so it's not unreasonable for fans to think it would happen.

I just wanna add: delusions vs. reality = we all know where to draw the line here Stargazers. Yes, we may spazz and go over the top with our theories - but at the end of the day, we rationalize and have significant amount of proof to back MANY of them up. 

 

I dont think its delusional to believe that JG was supposed to go to the Hollywood premier of his very first Hollywood movie. I also dont think think its delusional to believe that he cares enough for JE to skip this important premier to help her through this difficult time. We've seen their interactions, their stares, and their skinships.

What would be going out on a limb here would be to claim that he never intended to go and take this chance to break into the Hollywood circle. That him skipping out on his Hollywood movie premier AT THE SAME TIME THE NEWS BROKE OUT IS A MERE COINCIDENCE.

I'm not good in making explanation or analysis b/c my limited English but I must spill it out for my system so I can sleep in peace .

First we must to know the time difference between Los Angeles and Hong Kong. HK is 16:00 hours ahead of LA. That mean when:

January 22 --> 11:00 AM in LA

January 23 --> 03:00 AM in HK (It's just for example)

JG HK FM was held on Jan 22 at 08:00 PM

LA Premiere of RE was held on Jan 23 at 07:30 PM

Non-stop flight duration from HK to LA is 12 hours 25 minutes

Base on this info: if JG want to go to LA the next day after FM (for example) on Jan 23 at 08:00 AM in HK time , with direct flight he can arrive at LA airport on Jan 23 at 4:25 AM in LA time. So He has alot of times to take a rest until premiere event start.

And take a look on the tweet below said that confirmation of JG schedules was written by Namooactor 2017-01-23. Probably it was true that last minutes changed

If the reason of schedule cancellation because over schedules as we know JG not have other activities after HK FM and he has alot of times to take a rest until premiere start.  So probably It's right the cancellation because break up news. JG as we know he is a professional actor and RE the final chapter is his first debut in Hollywood, he wouldn't waste the big opportunity like this. Even in crammed schedules he could make it (maybe his long time fans here knowing better than me).

Knowing he chose going back to Korea, I feel sad for him but the other side if he really did it because he want to beside his queen immediately to support her.. encourage her.. give spirit.. protect her.. and tell her 'I am here for you'. I'm really amazed with him and admire him alot. This guy is one of thousand guys in this world.. rare.

About that specific point I highlighted, I think there is proof enough to believe that JG was not attending the LA premiere in the first place. Why? JG's work schedule is public. It is on his official website. Him attending the SAF was added to his public calendar about 2 weeks prior to the event itself. However, him attending the LA premiere was never ever added to his schedule. The conflicting schedule reason that Namoo gave for JG not attending the premiere is pretty logic, as his HK fan meeting was schedule before than the LA premier (but please correct me if Im wrong) and also, is not like there are flight from HK to LA every 5 mins. If he had flew to LA after his FM (meaning the morning after, the guy needs to rest), he would have expend a 24 + hours (if not more),  without proper rest (bed in a hotel) and would have had to conform himself to sleeping in the plane on his way to LA, to then go to the red carpet, then watch the premier, then assist the after party, and all of it right after setting a foot out of the plane PLUS jeltlag!

Even as a shipper myself and a looooong time JG fan, I dont see the logic of it, nor how it would have even been possible (it is simple not doable), specially after a concert and a hell of a long flight without sleep and proper rest. About all the rest and other theories that have been said in regards to uri JoonU (excluding the reasons why JG didnt go to the premier, or that he actually cancelled it when there was never a public confirmation in the first place (his work schedule on his website)) I totally agree with XD. 

Now Im just happy knowing about the breakup news and I think that's as far as we can go, unfortunately, because to be honest, I dont think JG will ever go public with his relationships. So if our beloved couple is together, or will be in the future, we'll only know about it only if JG step up for marriage, or if he ever gets caught in the act XD (like kissing uri IU in public lol, there would be no denying then!) XDDD

I know that LJG and LJE now, will go low. They won't give us any instaflirt or anything related to both of them. I think it's wise, because i'm sure both of them don't want to ruin and damage each other's career. I'm very very VERY sure LJG's agency statement was to PROTECT LJE from haters. And also to protect LJG because he will be accused as a third wheel from LJE previous relationship.

But, let me point out the most important thing, is that they as a colleagues or close friend (or future lovers  ) are supporting each other. So, now, i will be patiently waiting for the good news. Hopefully those BBJX miracle will become real. Meanwhile, lets reminiscing LJG and LJE closeness below as themselves and as Wang So-Hae Soo.

Namoo saying he couldn't go because of "schedule reasons" is true if they didn't want to overwhelm him. Technically, he could've done it. But his schedule would've been very tight with little time to rest. 

Anyways, everyone keeps talking about the list that confirmed his attendance but it was taken down before I could see it. I wish someone had screencapped it. :/ Someone said Regal LA Stadium (where the LA premiere was behind held) actually posted a list, but I can't find it. But if people are just referencing this list, I have to say I'm a little skeptical of that website. I'd trust Regal over that website any day of the week, but again, I can't find the source.

However, the rumor that he would be going to the LA premiere most definitely started circling before the break-up news hit. Reading page 635, and then going into 636 onwards is still hilarious to me because this thread goes into overdrive, haha.

But I don't think "schedule reasons." is the real reason. Cause if he took the straight flight from HK to LA (13hour) around 14pm Hkg time, He gonna get there about 10-11AM LA time. And surely He would take business or first class (which very comfortable to rest) and even had a whole morning&afternoon for resting more. 

As I said, normally he appears at the airport 1-2 hour before the flight (I guess agents always care for everything, he just go).but this time, He came quite soon, nearly 4 hour before departure.

I'm sure captain's delulu has base, JG probably had to show up soon to get the earliest flight back to SK, because He's so worry about someone's home.End of lunar New Years in HK flights always overbook, so  he had to come to buy last minute tickets & being on the waiting list until have seats on any available flights. (I'm working in asian aviation, so I know this thing clearly). That means schedule back to SK was not prebook. The schedule changed suddenlly in last minute.

@akinahana89 captain, please ask @meahri_1 if she screencapped Regal LA stadium attendance's list. I hate myself that at that time I'm too busy to check & screencapped anything.

This is the thing that drives me crazy, because I can't understand their motives. BTS chemistry, SAF, concerts, IG flirting, fashion "coincidences"- all these were so obvious. I think that's why the moment breakup news came out, K-netizens exploded with dating rumours because they kept it in their minds all time but now can talk freely. If JG-JE were mere close colleagues or friends, then these behaviours should be interpreted as fan service and acting, but it makes no sense coz drama ended long ago and moreover there's no reason to provoke scandals by acting lovers.. I can think two explanations: one is they had fun acting SoSoo in real life, but- it is a dangerous game, and all their interactions seemed super sincere and natural! second is they have so strong attraction for each other that could not hide it and wanted to show it off, conveniently using "fan service and colleagues" cover.

Breakup news is also confusing- why did it come out right after "JKH is IU man" article?? seems like they wanted to keep it but this kind of article was the last drop keke I wish agencies mentioned that breakup happened months ago... because again, if it happened week ago then people can't help questioning why IU was so happy and shining since SAF? imo, her recent appearance absolutely doesn't match with how one experiencing breakup should look like  so personally, I believe they broke up long ago. Perhaps, if agencies said breakup was long ago, then dating rumors were even stronger, so they decided to cover the period up to now)

Yes, yes, and HECK YES lol so much courage, not afraid to make a stand or at least in a subtle but obviously way of showing his support for JE.
