So, this let me think again the time when they get well to each other, I think not this time, even after a kiss scene....(ahh actually I dont know this scene filmed before or after kiss scene?!? On scene maybe after, but it also depended on their filming schedule).

At these times, LY and RO had many lovey-dovey scenes to each others, but YJ seems very shy and she tried to act cool and a little bit cold toward BG to hide her shyness (hahaha and I think this was one of the reason he got many NG in kiss scene)

And in my imagination, at these times, BG was sure to try all his best to get close to her (maybe invited her to go our for eating or drinking).....

And more of the umbrella scene bts  Bogum just really can't seem to take away his eyes from Yoojung. Oh, don't worry. I'm a straightforward person and simply never think of messing up the friendly environment here. I've been in soompi long time ago. Some has changed, but mostly still the same. But the thing is people have their own opinion and temper too. I think when the issue comes, it doesn't take lot of time to ask each other first to know what going on than throw words that could make other drowning. For Boyoo, my mind tells me that which to believe and the limid of it. Just to be sure I ship them but in the end, when the dream doesn't go the way what I dreamed of, I still ship their friendship.

Every member here, even they didn't post much but they all pay attention to Boyoo and keep the forum on top search. That's is awesome enough. To whom who take their expensive time for "decorate" our forum, first you did it for your own interesting, second when you share it for everyone, you have their appreciation. What's a reward! Yoojung is definitely a happy vitamin to everyone and obviously, to her prince Bogum!  Even Bogum, who's trying to be serious, can't help but smile and laugh at the silliness of Yoojung. She's just way too adorable! She's doing her dance and the bombastic dance on the puppet   So cute. And seriously, Bogum can win a staring competition if he has to stare at Yoojung for a very long time hehe. Her image and movements are probably engraved to his memory already

I was trying to figure out exactly why there was a sudden change of facial expression from our Birthday Boy (besides the obvious adorableness)

and then it hit me.

His face was intensed though he can only observed YJ's mimicking Ra ON dance from back view only.

When Bogum arrived at the bottom of the stairs to get ready for interview by SIA MCs, he was seen patiently waiting for another winner of SIA in the teenager category to finish her interview session. He had plenty of time to just greet the fans so all he had to do was waiting for his turn now. What did he do with the 10-15 seconds on hand, naturally he would look to the podium to check on the proceeding interview and make sure that he would not miss the cue to step forward--and he could not have missed the chance to give a "Look Through" to the beautiful girl at the microphone.  How could he?  Who would he rather look at among the group of people standing on stage? The other three male MCs, or the girl at the center of everyone's attention for the moment? She was such a vision in the blue dress! And he would involuntarily touch his hair/forehead area while listening to her speak--who else was at the podium could have prompted him to fix his hair and looked more attractive for--other than Youjung.  Right before the end of Youjung's interview his expression would show a tiny bit of anxiety and frustration as shown in the abve photo (like every time we saw him being ignored by Youjung in MDBC BHTS).  So, YEEES, Bogum definitely took notice of Youjung at SIA and he was very interested in getting to know her better if he got a chance.  

SIA would be the last public event that Bogum didn't get to talk to Youjung, sitting next to her or at least greeting her; next time we saw them together at a public event...they have already become fast friends and best partners with each other--who could not stop looking at each other and talking to each other and ever and ever and ever...

Youjung's Rejuvenating Trip on Jeju Island

Time: 2016.03.27-31      

Place: Jeju Island

With a busy schedule, Youjung was updating her IG with the first two photos after attending these events on 2016.03.21 and 2016.03.26. Next time Youjung was spotted by her fans would be 2016.03.30 when she was, at Hyeopjae Beach on Jeju Island, shooting CF for Chojung Sparkling Water.  Weeks later, on 2016.05.04, she would finally upload more photos of herself being in Jeju, two and half-week later than she was confirmed to play Raon in MDBC on 2016.04.15--she didn't want to leak anything to the public before it was announced by her agency.

This trip was later labeled as "Kim You-Jung's Healing Trip on Jeju Island" by her agency SIDUSHQ--and it made me wonder what 'wound' did she need healing from?  Or maybe they were referring to a 'rejuvenating trip' which brought new energy back to her life/career; and with this short trip, she finally got a chance to talk to herself, to look inward and to regain her passion for her next big project--but what could it be?  The world would know soon. But there was no doubt that she was in Jeju while getting ready to play her first major leading lady role.

To support my theory, back on 2016.03.27, out of nowhere, Youjung has already announced that she was leaving SBS's Inkigayo Music Show and 2016.04.03 broadcast would be her last appearance as its MC.  Lots of speculations and rumors floating online...Why did she quit? What was her next big project? Were she simply taking a break from show business? All while one of the most-talked-about upcoming K-Drama was still not confirming its female lead...Raon Ahhh...where were you...are you on Jeju Island? 

Could there be more clues hidden in these photos that she uploaded on 2016.05.04 from Jeju Trip? What was she reading here? Could it be MDBC novels or copies of the script?Were these books the reason for her to hold off uploading these pictures from Jeju sooner?

Even if these readings were not MDBC-related, she was sure reading up something while marinating the decision to take on the challenge of playing Raon alongside one of the most-talked-about actor at the moment--Park Bo Gum--so she definitely was thinking about who Park Bo gum was like as a person and as an actor. And she didn't have a lot of other form of entertainment to keep her mind occupied other rather reading books and imaging herself to be Raon.

 

 

The Beginning of A Beautiful Partnership

Date: 2016.05.26     

Occasion: 1st Script Reading for MDBC Cast

They already started a friendship before this event, on 2016.05.09, Bogum and Youjung got trained together for horse riding and went to lunch/dinner that day.  Yet they haven't had a chance to demonstrate their incredible chemistry to the rest of the cast, as the leading couple in MDBC, until this occasion.  

They were already like two best friends who have not seen each other for a long time (or less than 17 days) and could not stop talking and laughing with each other just to catch up on events in their own separate lives. Bogum was gently grabbing Youjung's elbow then shaking her like a giddy school boy, who just found his favorite girl at a the playground and would not let her out of his sight.

What an big momentous occasion to build up the best relationship of their lives!  And they both behaved like they were sitting next to the most intriguing person in the world.  They talked and laughed non-stop with each other whenever they were not reading from the script.  How could their attraction for each built up so fast and so strong in 17 days? A little over two months ago, they didn't even greeted each other at SIA!  The only feasible explanation would be that they have long admired each other's works (from K-dramas, reports and publicity events) but never had a chance to make friends until MDBC--they were making up for lost time!!  They wished they could have met sooner!!

At this earliest stage of their partnership, they were already so thrilled to be with each other, to work with each other, to share ups and downs with each other and to support each other like nobody else's business.

Bogum and Youjung were so wrapped up in their own little world and everyone else in the room were on a totally different plane of existence--the sheer exuberance of them simply being in each other's proximity was out of this world!

Bogum totally behaved like he never worked with any other beautiful actress before and was too excited that he could pass out; and to have the girl of/from his dream [in the novel/drama] sitting next to him--he was beside himself.  And Bogum would be caught by Youjung for stealing glances at her.

After this occasion, Bogum and Youjung would embark on one of the most exciting adventure of their lives/career! And there would be no turning back.

Even though there was no excessive physical contacts initiated by Bogum, but his gaze toward Youjung was already eager and intense--and this would usually throw up a big red flag for the girl if she was not into him at all.  There were plenty of chances for Youjung to keep her distance from him physically, if she wanted to do so--at least to not give out the impression that she was encouraging him to make a move.  But no such reservation was observed on Youjung's part when it came to Bogum's boyish crushing behaviors--she didn't flinch when Bogum grabbed her arm or put his arm behind her--she was very calm and collected in dealing with his slight touches--she was comfortable and relaxed even when Bogum leaned closer to her--for some reason she completely trusted him to not cross the line.  

That was a most difficult thing to do--to retain total trust between a boy and a girl in such a short period of time, no matter what were their status--for some reason Youjung believed Bogum would be able to restrain himself and to behave gentlemanly toward her no matter what.  That's a lot of confidence Youjung was bestowing on Bogum since the very early stage of their friendship/relationship--she innately knew him to be a protective figure for her; he would not let any harm come to her.  And that's not an easy thing to have between new friends/co-stars--given Bogum's tendency to go overboard with physical contacts toward his co-stars (mostly with males), but she understood him so well and she was not worried at all.

At any time when they were close to each other, Youjung seemed to have the upper hand in keeping Bogum's physical contact [toward her] under control; she knew how to maintain a reasonable interpersonal boundary between the two of them without hurting his feelings and kept things playful between them.  Bogum could appear to be pretty touchy freely with her in the eyes of most bystanders--even to the extend that the PDs and staff of MDBC was teasing him for it in the Japan DVD Cut--but their honest reactions and open attitudes would keep these interactions totally harmless and fluffy.

In the most recent released BHTS clips, which showed their interactions at the script reading, Youjung could be seen to prod Bogum gently with her elbow in order to make him stop teasing/gazing at her (as she would do many times later while shooting MDBC scenes).

The boy would be a boy, but the girl knew exactly what to do to keep him in line, on his toes.
 

 

I Want US to Be More Than Friends

Date: 2016.06.16     

Occasion: Bogum's Birthday/MDBC Dinner Party (on the site of shooting)
 

In the eventuality that Bogum and Youjung got cast for MDBC's leads,  they wanted to make friends for the sake of the drama--which was explained by Bogum repeatedly in different interviews.  And even though they didn't hit it off right away, but Bogum was determined to break the ice with Youjung and he emphasized that he was the one approached Youjung first with invitations of dinner plans and social gatherings to build up their chemistry.  Bogum was so adamant about the necessity of doing it like there was no other choice. 

Here at a dinner/gathering for the MDBC cast and crew and to celebrate his birthday, Bogum was going the extra mile to accomplish his mission of getting close to Youjung.

On the same day, Bogum posted a happy GIF, thanking all the fans and supporter for their well wishes for his birthday; looking extra energized and more gleeful than usual.  

In the later released BHTS footage, Bogum was seen glued to the side of Youjung while watching Jinyoung performing on stage, they were really comfortable with each other--singing, dancing and just enjoying each other's company at the gathering.  Bogum was almost in tears with so much blessing coming his way when presented with a birthday cake...he was very emotional...and one of the most obvious reason for his exuberance was the presence of his new best friend, Youjung.  What would make a 23-years-old birthday boy lose himself more than having a beautiful girl there to sign him Happy Birthday!

Question: why was it so important to Bogum to build up rapports win Youjung's as soon as possible, there were still plenty of time to bond with Youjung once MDBC started shooting and they were not required to be lovey-dovey in the first few episodes--Youjung were still playing a boy! 

Couldn't Bogum--as a professional actor--work with a leading lady that he was not friend with or didn't really like as friends?  Plenty of actors and actresses would fake their on-screen chemistry and did not get along off-screen and even hated each other's ego. 

I am sure that Bogum could have fooled us, the audience--if he chose to not build up close personal relationship with Youjung and kept things totally professional--and still delivered convincing acting performance in MDBC (with his naturally flirtatious behaviors around former co-stars).  

But he chose to go the extra mile with Youjung and made it his mission to take down the wall Youjung put up to protect herself. Why putting up so much efforts?

The answer could be that he was actually thirsting for Youjung's friendship and affection on a personal level, not just for job requirement!  (We would see more proof of this on many other occasions like AAA, MAMA and BSAA.)

Youjung wore the same tops/sweats from the healing trip on Jeju Island to the two MDBC gatherings/Bogum's birthday party...could she be reminiscing her time in Jeju where she finally decided to take on the role of Raon...or two complete COINCIDENTAL coincidences?  Maybe subconsciously she wanted to retain the happy feelings that she got from reading the script while she was in Jeju and also to repeat the experience in the presence of Bogum, who would be reading his lines from the script. By wearing the same tops, Youjung was making the mental connection between Jeju Island to Happiness to MDBC to Bogum.

Recently Youjung was seen posting with 'blue embrella' emoji, exactly one week before Bogum's birthday, I found some connection between the emoji and Bogum and YJ's happy outfits from Jeju Island.

Occasion: MDBC Press Conference

In the Q & A section with press, Youjung started explaining her reason for taking on the role of Raon; she didn't mince words but gave an very truthful answer.

She described her process and how much fun she had reading the script and how did this process lead to her decision of accepting the role of Raon.

YJ: I was full of joy and happiness while reading the script and it occurred to me that if I could just maintain the same positive attitude for the shooting of MDBC.... 

Youjung was very sincere in elaborating her answer, and Bogum was listening closely but indifferently at first (he probably expected Youjung to give a generalized answer as he just now, and no specifics would be given to the press, so he was not really concerned.)

Youjung peeked at his reaction before continued...

YJ: I, too, will experience the same kind of joy and happiness in my life (by playing the role of Raon)...

YJ: and I want to spread the happiness to the audience of MDBC....

YJ: ...so they in turn could also feel joy and happiness (while watching MDBC)....

Then Bogum started to lose his stoic expression...he started to make a face of amusement--he started to smile, and when Youjung was getting to the part that she felt happiness from reading the script...Bogum would raise his eyebrows and open his eyes wider--he was surprised by Youjung's honesty in revealing her true emotions! And he looked like he never heard this answer before! He also started to tilt his head toward the direction of Youjung, his left side.

(Body Language of Raised Eyebrows: When a person is surprised, their eyebrows are often raised. The more the surprise. the higher the eyebrows are raised.

Body Language of Head Tilting: it is a sign of interest--in what is said or happening. Tilting can similarly indicate curiosity, uncertainty or query. Head tilting means that he is really attuned to what you are saying and trying to make sure that he captures every word.  And it is followed by a head turn, then he is really trying to listen to what you have to say.)

He would now listen to Youjung with more intensity with still raised eyebrows and polite smile on his face.  Soon, his forehead and nose would scrunch up, combined with narrowed eyes, elevated cheeks, while still keeping a tight-lipped smile the smile was slightly bigger now--he was intrigued and engaged, wanted to hear more, or even asked her a question to clarify his confusion if he got a chance--he was really trying to understand what she was describing...he succeed in keeping his mouth shut to conceal his own amusement by her words and to not interrupt her flow of speaking.

(Body Language of scrunched-up nose and forehead, combined with raised eye brows, pursed lips: one is dumbfounded confusion also increasing one's efforts to understand something.

Body Language of Tight-Lipped Smile: When the tips of the lips are stretched without the teeth exposed, such a smile shows the harbouring of a secret, concealment of thoughts and the restraining of attitudes/holding back from saying. it has a secretive attribute, in this cases hiding the teeth is equivalent to hiding thoughts.)

Toward the end of Youjung's sentence, Bogum looked satisfied with Youjung's explanation, eye brows relaxed, eyes softened, smile widen to show teeth, cheeks less elevated--he was flashing a genuine smile!  At the same time Youjung has now noticed the change in his mood and expression--from stoic and indifferent to relaxed and invested--to what she had to say, so Youjung gave a short glance at Bogum's direction to see if he was really paying attention and to seek emotional support from Bogum--in response to her deliberating efforts to give interesting answer. Even though there was no eye contact between them, she still got the confirmation from Bogum's genuine smile!

(Body Language of Genuine Smile: lips turn up, and usually part, maybe even showing teeth. Eyes light up as well! Genuine smiles encourage others to smile back and convey an honest emotion because when we are smiling, we feel happier and this happiness is communicated to others.)

Youjung's words had a major effect on Bogum as they ruled his emotions and changes his expression; but the same words did not have the effect to anyone else.  

Take the example of Jinyoung who was sitting to the left of Youjung, and got totally oblivious to what was going on. While Bogum was busy changing his expressions in response to Youjung's every word, Jinyoung just kept a straight fact and remained emotionless and only turned his head toward them once to catch up on the drama that was going on...he didn't even flinch any of his face muscles nor attempt any smile.

Again, Bogum and Youjung was on their own plane of existence, and everyone else in the room was just bystanders; they were in their own planet and no one else could land on their planet.

Now that Youjung had Bogum's full attention, he turned his head, looked back at her and gave her a gaze so intense that could make her heart skip a bit...all the while, maintaining his killer loving smile on his face, so she had to look straight ahead, and really concentrated on the task on hand, avoided making any eye contact with him so she could finish what she was saying.

(Body Language of Loving Smile: the same as a genuine smile, but adding a tilt of the head and/or a turn of head--to give her the full attention.)

Bogum stayed his course with prolonged gaze and kept his head turned to Youjung, Youjung had no choice but to return it with a quick coy smile and it drove him to lower his head and covered his mouth with his right fist to restrain his laughter. Their emotions and movements were now in synchronization, and both flashed bigger smiles.

What Youjung was doing to Bogum with her cute and adorable answer was the proof that she has already successfully spread the joy and happiness to people around her, especially her co-stars in MDBC and particularity to Bogum--by simply coming into his life and becoming the opposite of a total stranger to him.  And THIS positive effect that she had on him was something that he really really liked.  

(Body Language of Synchronized Smile: combination of a genuine and a loving smile, but also leaning toward the person you are smiling at.)

@vava123 Sometimes, we are felling lonely in our own way of wishful thinking-out-louds, so we come over here in this forum to try to find sympathetic eyes and ears.  We are not asking for much from anyone for anything but to have some sense of humor when we are sharing our thinking-out-louds...so I don't feel so lonely anymore in my own plane of delusional bliss over our BoYoo match-made-in-heaven...and thank you for give me that affirmation.

@kiwimari20 I am too, intrigued by Youjung's SNSs of late, but she is a tricky girl who doesn't reveal her real intention so easily, I am still trying very hard to decode some of her messages. I tend to pay more attention to her wardrobe and surroundings--where she is and what she was wearing when she post a picture. I did find some correlation between her 'blue umbrella' emoji and Bogum, take a look at my post here.

@joyoflife77 You always gave me a push when I was thinking about withdrawing back to my own world and stay delusional there. Sometimes it took a lot of courage to share what we are disillusioning about our OTP and certain uninvited commentary could really make us want to stop sharing altogether...I know you would understand this part of me--I may seem brazen in my WISHFUL-THINKING writings, but I am fragile at heart when it comes to shining the spot light on our baby doll. I only started doing it more now that I know she is strong mentally again.  You are so right in your observation that she is letting loose a bit more than she is used to before BSAA (that we know of); but she is still being encrypted when giving hints about her true emotions on SNSs--for which we would need more evidence later on (sometimes she waited for months to release the next piece of puzzle as illustrated in my post above) to decode them.  But for all those subtle signals that she was willing to leak out in pointing our attention toward her better half of the OTP--Bogummy--which is very excited to see and they gave us so much more materials to keep on disillusioning for them.

I am more of a wardrobe, date and location type of delusional-lurker, and I don't know much about K-Pop music, so I couldn't be much of help in that section of the puzzle. But the recent BTS and SNSs were not totally lost on me, I got the same impression as you that Bogum were being honest and consistent from the very first moment that he laid eyes on Youjung, hence I went back and re-examed their SIA-era photos and it inspired my post on Bogum's 'LOOK THROUGH' at Youjung at SIA.  Even though he didn't know her back then, but his eyes could not lie...and his involuntary touching of his forehead/hair area told us that he was attracted to her.  Who else could have prompted him to want to draw attention to his own appearance subconsciously (among the group of people who were at the podium doing the interview then)?

There was only one girl--from the moment that he saw her and was yearning for her to play Raon since 2016.03.15 (or sooner?)--there has only been one girl that he would glance at, look at, gaze at for a  prolonged period of time...and it has not changed for the last 15 months.  The passion he always shows by looking at her would have been enough to made any girl in the world dying of jealous and enviousness a thousand times over by now and who would not have surrendered to his charms by now? 

But our baby girl hung in there to recede and resist his efforts as long as she can, during and after the shooting of MDBC, and her occasional slips of judgement to give in to his advances (to allow him to get closer and closer to her) was not a crime, right? Her eventual reciprocation to his undying loving intentions was just a matter of time.  After all, she is only a human who has no immunity to the common disease we call LOVE.

So, chingu, your shared wisdom guide me tremendously in my writing of this post--I kept reminding myself of Bogum's consistence and insistence when it came to Youjung.  Thank you for always making me feel that I have at least one reader who would agree with me and my post in this forum...and sometimes that's all it takes to keep me posting about our OTP.

Songs and sns seem to be a special form of communication between them. Throwback to July/August 2016 ,possibly a time BG was struggling to get into LeeYoung's character n  when both were filming in extreme conditions:YJ n BG posted 2 songs on their SNS...

Possibly coincidence...but maybe messages of encouragement meant for someone they are shyly showing concern for. YJ has mentioned how after being seperated for a long period, they regained strength when they finally met up again. Such an honest statement to make and how revealing of how much they have come to mean to each other. Will these memories n experiences be easily forgotten once they move on from the drama?  They have a friendship forged thru shared hardships n experiences and that is a wonderful foundation for any form of relationship they choose to persue now or in the future.

Just ending with an IG that stuck me of how BG has consistently looked at YJ with the same look from the start till today....

@piscesean chingu, you are always generous in your compliments and they made me blush. I could always count on you to cheer me up and to have that commandery with your--in our shared thought and feelings for our OTPs. Bogum and Youjung are always talking with their eyes and I want to put that communication into words the best I can. Most of the time, I didn't know that I have so much to write about them until the second I was writing about them and it turns into a long post, weird, right?

I Never see any other K-couple with so much drama between without even trying.  When they are in each other's proximity, they only saw each other and wanted to take care of each other, everything else didn't register on their radar.  Boyoo's real life loving actions are more intense than what transpires in MDBC scenes.

@Edith Fabian I used to think that the MDBC production team was protecting Youjung because of her tender age, by cutting out a lot of BHTS footage in which Bogum was seen teasing and being playful with her.  Now with the new Japan-DVD-Cut BHTS coming out, I finally realize that they were actually protecting Bogum from appearing too eager and over-excited whenever he is in the proximity of Youjung.

Bogum is the worst secret-keeper of his own 'affairs of the heart'--one look, one touch, or one word then his loving affection for Youjung just came spilling out and the ever-present cameras were not doing him any favor in keeping his secrets hidden from us!  Please remind me not to tell Bogum anything interesting about Youjung; he would not bear it, haha!

@lovelybluehoneyz.. Thanks for your mediating, I got totally where you are coming from.  For those who do not like long posts, better steer clear of my post! I would if I could help it to keeping my posts at a moderate length, but it was not totally up to me...words just spill out of my heart when I see the evidences presented in front of me. The only thing I could do is to edit them short! Or those chingus should just skim over it.  

And I am not going to apology for my WISHFUL THINKINGs any more than I should--they are my THINKINGs and there is still plenty of room for all sort of different THINKINGs here, right? Sometimes I just got overly protective of our baby doll, Youjung, and emotional comments would come out-- I just hated to see people misinterpret her nice intentions or miss the subtle signals behind her well-thought-out caring gestures--and for THEM I would never stop defending.  I was a Youjung trooper first and before I was a BoYoo trooper!

@bubblyflo  So so appreciated that you understood my point!   I was using Ms. Seo's openness (2 trophies) to contrast with YJ's shyness (1 trophy); and to explain how easy it was for YJ to simply taking two trophies in the first place to save herself the second trip walking back to the staff.

YJ or Ms. Seo could easily taken two trophies from the award staffer the first time, but YJ did not? Why? I don't believe award staffer would mind that YJ or Ms. Seo taking two or three trophies to give to their friends/associates since everyone would be holding up just ONE for the photo. So if YJ wanted to take two at once, the staff would not have stopped her from doing so.

Also, YJ could have told BG to get his own trophy after showing the first trophy to him or to signal the staff to bring over one more trophy to BG (as they were already starting to do with the back row of the stars/winners).  But by walking back to the staff again for the second trophy, YJ's action further demonstrated to BG how much she put his need before her own and she was happy to going through the trouble--all for the benefits of Bogum.

It was a big step for Youjung to finally showing some romantic gestures toward Bogum in front of the crowd--and Bogum was pleasantly surprised and surely appreciative of her gestures, hence the "O" expression followed by a big smile visible on his face--BG was surprised by YJ for sure.  And by being so coy and shy but loving and caring at the same time, YJ doubled up the sweet impact of her romantic gestures in the eyes of Bogum.
