Congrats boyoo couple and gurumi team for the big winning last night especially bogum for the top excellence award, yoojung for the excellence award and best couple award for both. So proud for both of them. However I was so sad and feeling so empty while watching the awards last night without yoojung's attendance. Moreover when they announcing her winning as an excellent artist, my heart's broken. How I wish she was there to receive the award by herself. But however there was so many boyoo moments as well each time the male mc teasing bogum. How cute his reaction is everytime yoojung's name was mentioned. No need to mention his reaction when he was watching his own kissing scene on the screen. His expression was priceless.

Just saw the tweet posted by bogum on his twitter. I can confidently say it is indirectly aimed for yoojung. He wants her to smile again and forget all the pain that left in 2016. I assume he has visited yoojung and saw how dissapointed and sad yoojung is about her current issue. So he has his own way to cheer up his baby doll. And he might want us to know he really cares about yoojung and supports her. I am so touched by his tweets

I don't understand Sidus at all. Not even a congratulatory message for YJ. it's a big achievement to be the youngest to recieve an excellence award I can't see how they could possible make a mistake by just saying congrats to her on their ig or twitter. even just letting fans/people know that she wouldn't be able to attend like at least for her fans sake you know she has loyal fans for years at least have the courtesy to let them know if she'd be coming to such an event or not ...I was still hoping that kbs was just hiding YJ from the cameras for a while during kda lol and when I saw kim soo hyun at the very last moment I was hoping somehow yj would be there too..because kim soo hyun didn't walk the carpet either...but then no YJ  ( maybe they were behind the seperate our puppies plan during cebu!- jus my assumption)

Actually I interpreted DY's expression differently when the couple award was announced. I think he knew and BG definitely knew. Although the possibility is there they didnt since (my guess) that  she is staying away from all communication media and probably not in contact with anyone.

 

also YJ's team said in their earlier press release that her attendance at the KDA would be "difficult" which in other words mean she wont come.

 

sidus didnt release anything afterwards and it was just press speculating she would come.

 

i am so proud of both of them but also saddened that this award show was their last public appearance together with the mdbc cast

Kim Yoo Jung's sunbae speaks up on her attitude issue

After Kim Yoo Jung got hospitalized for second time in a week, reacting badly to the negative comments about her attitude, her sunbae actor Bang Joong Hyun defended the actress through an Instagram post.

Bang Joong Hyun, Kim Yoo Jung’s Moonlight Drawn by the Clouds costar, complimented her as one of the politest hoobaes he'd seen and chastised the bigoted netizens who talked her down.

“Child actress? Young? These labels don’t fit [Kim Yoo Jung]. Kim Yoo Jung, who loves songs by Kim Hyun Sik and Jang Pil Soon. On set, she’s always leaning on one leg because the other is not completely comfortable. I don’t think there’s any reason for her to reveal physical discomforts to the public just because she’s a celebrity.

“If the person watching is uncomfortable, than [Kim Yoo Jung] is arrogant. If the person watching is generous, than [Kim Yoo Jung] is pitiable. Out of all the younger actors I’ve seen, Kim Yoo Jung is the most respectful and honest. Seeing her having such a hard time is difficult.

“Forgive her? What kind of great sin did she commit that would beg forgiveness? It makes me mad that there is a minority trying to ruin her image because of a single photo.”

Kim Yoo Jung was previously criticized for her “rude” attitude during press release of the upcoming film, Because I Love You. Shortly after, she was rushed to the hospital twice in the same week due to symptoms of cold caused by stress, presumably because of the criticisms.

Kim Yoo Jung and Park Bo Gum of Moonlight Drawn by Clouds received the best couple’s award at the KBS Drama Awards, but she did not attend. "Kim Yoo Jung was unable to be with us becuse of health issues. Thanks to her, I'm receiving this award. I hope she gets better soon," Park Bo Gum said in his acceptance speech.

This is my very post here (well, actually one of my very few post in Soompi despite being an old member), but I've been regularly and happily lurking in this thread for a long time: since the fansign event, to be precise. I had visited before that, because there was just something special about these two that made me wonder and made me smile, but at the time I was trying to stay out of here, out of the whole shipping business. While I have always shipped drama characters, I had never wanted to ship actors, but really the fansign event immediately after the end of MDBC sealed the BOYOO deal for me, and I could not resist any longer (even though I still feel a little bit guilty to PBG and KYJ at times... sorry, kids, for being such a nosy mom! ;-)). 

Still, the reason why I never actively partecipated (and just resurrected my old soompi account to at least be able to like your posts), beside real life keeping me very busy, was that I believed that not getting too involved (wishful thinking, the boyoo pull is too strong!) would make it easier for me to move on later. But I had not imagined this moment to happen like this. 

It's been an awesome journey with these two wonderful people and with you all, fellow shippers who have made this thread such a lovely place, a true "paradise". In these months, that are not the best period of my life, BOYOO have been my happy pill. Watching them looking and smiling fondly at each other has never failed to put a smile on my face. For this I will always be thankful.

Like most of you (I guess) I envisioned the KDA as the last chance to see them together looking happy and enjoying the success they have deserved thanks to their hard work, dedication and talent. I had thought that we would spend some more time spazzing around here, analyzing official videos and fancams frame by frame and scrutinizing every detail of their interactions, and  thus we would get ready to let them go to their new projects and to the success that I am sure awaits them in the future too. Because while I am not losing the hope to see more of them as a couple, I am also aware that there won't be many chances in the future, and even if we keep supporting each of them individually, this thread will become much quieter. As a shipper, I was hoping to be able to give BOYOO a proper goodbye, to weave my hand and wish them all the best while watching them ride off together hand in hand into the sunset...

Things turned out a bit different, though, and this is probably why after being silent for such a long time I am now writing all of this.

I have been trying and trying hard to refrain myself from writing about what I felt regarding the whole YJ controversy but, after last night’s award, I just can’t help to contain my feelings anymore.

I do not know how long you took to make the 3 seconds GIF and what are the skills to creating it. And I do not know how long you took to draft the words you posted and the thought process that goes in your head into forming the sentences you have thoughtfully crafted, but I do know one thing – it has clearly affected a very skillful actress to the point that she had to miss a highly-anticipated award ceremony meant to honor her hours of hard work and celebrating with the people she achieved the awards with.

 

The hours of hard work where she had to endure tremendous heat and later unbearable cold to get her scenes done. The hours of hard work where she had to learn new crafts and skills like learning the gayageum, the drums and horse riding. The hours of hard work where she had to do dangerous stunts like hanging on a wire on a roof top to catch chickens, diving in a pool and a muddy outdoor lake, practice dance routines in the studio and do a 3-day shooting of the dance scene. Binding her chest throughout most part of the long months of shooting. Not to mention memorizing the long scripts, endure long hours of early morning and night shootings.

I hope someday you will understand all the efforts needed in achieving this kind of craft and what it means to be present at an award ceremony being honored and recognized for that very craft. And when you do, I hope you will find the courage to make an apology to YJ, BG, and all the fans who anticipated last night’s moment of glory, but were robbed of our dreams…….

However, I do believe that everything happened for a reason……and I hope I will find peace with this soon.

Here, this is how I feel too. Thanks for putting it so perfectly into words. While I do fully agree with the "let's spread positives vibes only, not hate" policy - because this is what being a BOYOO shipper is about for me too - there are things that I need to get off my chest to get some closure.

While I am super happy that KYJ, PBG and the others who made MDBC such a wonderful drama  received many awards and nominations as an acknoledgment of their efforts and achievements,  like everyone here, I guess, I can't help feeling sad thinking about the recent events and last night. My selfish wish for boyoo moments aside, I am sad for Yoojung who had to endure the pain/illness first and then the stress caused by that absurd witch hunt, and who was unable to enjoy the big night she was so looking forward to, and now this opportunity is lost forever, no matter how many more awards she will receive in the future and how brilliant her future career will be. Sad for Bogum who not only must be worried for her, but was also left to accept the Best Couple award by himself when he certainly had hoped to have YJ by his side at that moment. Sad for her family and friends, including the MDBC team that got close to her during filming because their happyness for the awards their drama got was clouded by Yoojong's absence. It was clear in the expressions of all her colleagues captured by the camera, especially when PBG and KYJ won the best couple award and when YJ was announced as the winner of the Excellence Award, as some of you have mentioned. The friendship we got to see was very touching, though. 

On a more positive note, first of all congratulations to Yoojung, Bogum and all the actors of MDBC for their well deserved awards and nominations. I am very proud of you, and so glad that MDBC was one of the big winners last night. I have spent many wonderful hours in your company and because of you, so I couldn't be happier for your success. 

Then, Yoojung-ah: please please take the time you need (not too much, hopefully, because we miss you ;-)) but recover completely and come back healthy, strong, beautiful, lovely and smiling as we are used to see you. I know that you are a strong and mature young lady, so I have no doubt you can overcome this, but my wish for you is that you won't lose your cheerful and carefree personality because of this. Hwaiting! 

In the middle of this mess, I am truly happy to see that YJ's sunbaes that have some power to do so have spoken up and showed their support. As to the younger actors who have their hands tied (how frustrating it must be for them!), I am sure they are supporting her privately. In this situation, hats off to Bogum for what he said during the best couple award acceptance. Just as @shootingstar007  mentioned, I do not doubt that with his words in the video that was posted he was defending YJ in the only way that he could. At that time the couples were discussing the "best aegyo", then the MC asked BG when was YJ most "lovely moment". His reply was nothing new, because we've already heard him say that Yoojung is lovely, but here he stressed the fact that all the staff adored her, and also his tone was very serious (especially compared to the playful replies of the other couples), so it's obvious to me that he was making a point, but still being subtle about it so as not to create problems. I am convinced that, being the wonderful human being that he is, BG would have done the same for KDY or for SJK or any of his close friends, but of course my shipper heart is happy that he did it for YJ while receiving the best couple award with her. And of course I agree with all of you who pointed out that both his speech when receiving the Netizens’ Award and his most recent tweets were meant - at least in part - especially for YJ: he would have wished his fans a happy new year anyway but the words he choose to do that are so appropriate for her current situation, that it is difficult to believe that he was not thinking about her. 

Lastly, because I've written too much already, my best wishes to both BG and YJ for a succesful 2017 when more of their dreams can become true, and my hope that they will keep their wonderful whatever-it-is relationship and they will continue to be a source of strenght and support for each other. Even non shippers can't deny that PBG and KYJ formed a deep bond and developed a sincere respect and affection for each other. Especially in the world they live in, this alone is something heartwarming and to be cherished. The shipper in me obviously would love them to be, or to become, a real couple, but they have already given me so many happy feelings as it is, and I am grateful to them for this. As long as they are happy, I am happy. 

Sorry for this very long rambling, that is also probably a bit disconnected in some parts, but I feel a bit emotional these days. Happy 2017 and happy shipping to you all.
