CL Says Title Change to "The Baddest Female" from "Bad Girl" Is Not Because of Lee Hyori

With just days before CL's solo debut, YG Entertainment has announced an English title change for her title track.

YG Entertainment spoke with Star News on May 23 and said, "At first, we decided on 'Bad Girl' as the English title and that's how we informed outside sources as well," and "Afterwards, CL suggested that we change the title to 'The Baddest Female' and that became our final decision."

"The Baddest Female" is one of CL's catchphrases, which is widely recognized among fans.

When the reporter asked, "Did you change it from 'Bad Girl' to 'The Baddest Female' because of Lee Hyori's fifth album title track," YG Entertainment answered, "Not at all. ''Bad Girl' was a title that was decided a long time ago. 'The Baddest Female' was also put on the table for a while. In Korea, we will use the Korean title, 'Nabbeun Kijibeh'."

Previously, YG Entertainment revealed more about "The Baddest Female" by saying, "It is a hip-hop track with a BPM of 70, which is pretty slow. It will contain dupstep and dougie components with CL's powerful rap."

The YG rep continued, "CL first joined YG at the age of 16 with dreams of becoming a female rapper. So this album will mark her first solo debut in seven years since her trainee days. It will be her first solo debut in four years since her debut with 2NE1."

They finally added, "CL traveled to Japan not too long ago to receive private lessons on her choreography for 'The Baddest Female.' She participated in all concept meetings and discussions about her music video, giving out her own ideas and thoughts as well," and "Big Bang's G-Dragon, Taeyang and her other close friends will be making an appearance in the music video."
