'Splendid Politics' Cha Seung-won turns into a cold-blooded king

Gwang Hae (Cha Seung-won) became furious with anger when he found out about Princess Jeongmyeong (Jeong Chan-bi) and Grand Prince Yeongchang (Jeon Jin-seo)'s death.

On the 6th episode of "Splendid Politics", another power appeared threatening Gwang Hae's throne. Gwang Hae with the bloody eyes exploded with anger towards those people who looked down on him.

As seen in the previous episode, Princess Jeongmyeong was disguised in boy's clothes and escaped from the palace alone.

Under all these circumstances, the loyal subject, Yi Deokhyeong (Lee Sung-min), who always wanted Gwang Hae to be a wise king, was deprived from his position and was expelled from the capital. Gwang Hae decided to get rid of the humane side of him and turn into a cold-blooded, powerful king.

I am a bit confused, I thought Kim Jae won's character was to be evil. But I see Prince Gwanghae is also evil. I also see there is a love rival starting already at the beginning of this drama. I kinda pity Prince Gwanghae and Princess Jeongmyeong. They do care for each other but the people in court try to make them enemies. So far it is a great drama.

@UnniSarah It's always like that in rivaling side court those factionist quack will take what the King love and cherrish the most and use it against him to make the King do what they want.. GW don't feel goo about any of this those evil men wanted those kids out of the palace to kill them

@valsava.... These court people are full of greed and always get what they want until someone of a great mind can use their manipulation against them. I blame King for making Pgwanghae easy to be manipulated because he was jealous of his own son until turning against him. That is what the king deserved.

[Spoilers] Hwajung Ep 5+6

Osen - Naver: 'Hwajung' Cha Seung Won finds out that Park Young Gyu had been poisoined, 'Shock'

1. [+862, -32] I feel bad for the actors.. This is turning into another mbcshit sageuk

2. [+599, -22] Cha Seung Won's eyes are so expressive. They really show Gwanghae's sadness

3. [+585, -34] Just saw the preview and I'm worried that the child actors are better than their adult counterparts

4. [+168, -15] The smell of failure as Lee Yeon Hee recites her lines... She was just shown for a few seconds but my anticipation dropped already

5. [+153, -9] I'm appalled.. Does it make sense that the princess is sold as slave??? Well, this is just a fiction anyway...

6. [+103, -7] Aigoo ya! This drama is a fail.. I feel bad for Cha Seung Won

tv Report - Naver: 'Hwajung' Cha Seung Won, in shock and confusion toward the anonymous letter that threatens the throne

1. [+166, -13] This drama is fun but there's something boring about it

2. [+113, -18] I watch this for the cast's acting but I don't like the scenes with the child actors. Not as thrilling as episodes 1-2

3. [+69, -4] I think the lead character is Princess Jung Myeong but in my heart is cheering for Cha Seung Won's character GwangHae

4. [+50, -6] Cha Seung Won's acting isn't lacking. He's just awesome

5. [+47, -5] Became less interesting ever since they pushed the story toward the princess.. I hope Gwanghae becomes the focus just like in the first 2 episodes

6. [+41, -4] It's so fun

:DSo far I am enjoying this series a lot.  Part of it is serious history, and part of it is prophesy and romantic bonds being made as children. It is done really well up until now. It also shows how complicated the "politics" were during this time period.
The death of the prince I think should have been shown more severely. They let us off the emotional hook by just letting us know he is dead as way of news and not showing the little child ( I think he was eight years old) being suffocated and dying.

The Princess is the lead character I think, going forward. King G is really good at his part. History does not show him to have wanted to kill his brother or the Queen dowager, it is very sad how he was manipulated by the powerful nobles.  I looked the princess up on wikipedia it is says she lived until she was about 82 years old, so I guess they will be making up a lot of stories about her life and loves.  I am watching The Book of Corrections (whenever an episode comes out with English subs) and enjoying it much. I think it will be showing more about how G fought the Japanese and how he was a good king who protected Joseon very well until the nobles exiled him and made their puppet Injo King (and we all know what a mess he made of things and how he probably killed his own son, dil and grandchildren. )
