This one was when LW made a call to KTH in the presence of his soldier mates. Gosh, the reactions of his mates when hearing KTH. Look at LW's expression. He looked alarmed at times, poor fella, but there is no mistake that him surely received good treatment while at MS! Hahaha......

I like to take the example of this IG video of Rain making his birthday wish before blowing the candles. He has that soft, gentle and 'romanced' expression just before he blew the candles. Yes, 'romanced' as in 'romanced'by his beloved KTH when he celebrated his birthday with her the day before, and his making a birthday wish got him recalling the sweet moments of his romantic birthday celebration with her? Hmmm, that would be most lovely, hahaha......shipper in paradise!

There was a query about LW. I have seen the English subbed version sometime ago but I can't find it now. The last question on LW for KTH was what she wanted to tell him. KTH replied, "Please come back!" or something like that.

They tend to eat and drink till late at night or into the wee hours of the morning, like we see in the K-dramas. No offense there, but am I right that it's like a way of life for them?

Hi Nancyzak, ahhh.........KTH was under Namoo Agency then? Thanks for sharing this info. I heard the Agency handles their talents there very well. Ji Sung, one of my biases has been with that Agency for quite a while now, I guess since it was founded. Lee Jun Ki was with them also until he departed & transferred to another Label. Thanks for sharing the clips. About the MC, no idea what was he trying to do with KTH - was he trying to look at the shoes or the lace on her dress -

Koreans drink and party like no other country. Alcohol is a central part of business culture in Korea. It’s a sign of respect to drink with your boss, and it’s commonly believed that drinking with co-workers strengthens the bonds and develops better working relationships. Nightlife in Korea is that it never stops.  Most places have a policy that they close when the last person leaves. If they do have a closing time it’s almost always after 4am.

Yes, I understand that KTH was under Namoo Agency for a good number of years before joining her now agency, Lua Entertainment, in Jan 2010. The LE is managed by her brother-in-law.

In the first video clip that I posted, I recall one actor and an actress joking about KTH. The actor, who is below (sorry, I don;t know his name), said that he had to work very, very hard to earn his pay whereas KTH can afford to relax and that got everybody laughing!

It means nothing alarming then if we were to read or hear of any Koreans hanging out till late at night or till early hours in the morning, eating, drinking and chatting with friends, so long all are according to law and order, huh? That reminds me of updates on Rain spending time with his friends till the 2/3/4 o’clock in the morning before getting home. Nothing unusual really. 

Talking about Rain, I understand that he made it to the People’s Most Beautiful People in year 2007 (the same year KTH attended the 2007 PIFF above). In that year too, he opened his own agency, J Tune Entertainment and expanded his fame overseas, including holding a concert at Tokyo Dome, the largest auditorium in Japan. He was the first Korean to hold a concert there, as I understand it. People will say add a feather to the cap. In Rain’s case, it’s picking up one feather after another with each steps he takes! 

With so much going on for Rain in 2007, especially in overseas, fate somehow brought them to the stage of 43rd Baeksang! Yes, I know, we don’t think they communicated, but it’s nice to note that they were so near each other! Not only on that occasion but another, which is seated next to each other at the Blue Dragon Award Ceremony! Ah, as the fate would have it, like some will say, consideration their couplehood now.

Hi Nancyzak, as far as I remember it was a star-studded award ceremony. I haven't heard or read any flaws of the event whatsoever. RAIN won as the Best New Actor (Film). I just can't recall who were some other stars who were nominated along him. He arrived at the Red Carpet together with his Director (Park Chan Wook) & female partner (Im Soo Jung) - 3 of them. No, he didn't perform during the event but one of the presenters with ISJ. In fact, after they presented the award, some netizens criticized RAIN for leaving her on-stage because he went down ahead than her - hahaha (I guess he was just not aware or conscious on doing that) They saw him being disrespectful. I know most Koreans usually do this - guiding the female by holding her arm. Oh, LW was there? Sorry, but I don't remember.....I guess because I only saw KTH during the time when there was a "seat switching" & saw her sat near with RAIN. You could see RAIN's face that he was very happy of course when he accepted his award. I guess I posted what his message was during that award in RAIN's thread.....

Oh, the time when KTH was seated next to Rain, was at the Daejoong Award ceremony, not at the Baeksang. Here’s the “infamous” video of them:

Oh, no worries at all. I was aware about the two ceremonies. I was only confused with which ceremony that came first. Now, I only need to remember that KTH sat directly behind Rain in April 2007, with LW next to her whereas KTH sat next to Rain in June 2007 and she kept going to the seat next to MGY because she was lonely......    LOL......I bet the couple must be sniggering when recalling this. And you know why I say fate kept them apart then? They were ambassadors for the Asia Jeju Ad in 2007 and yet, still did not meet. Oh well, there's plenty to make-up for after Coupang! 

Basically, when it comes to KTH and LW, as we all know, they are inseparable. The little-brother-cum-escort/bodyguard for KTH. If it is not LW, it will be KTH’s elder sister. I read somewhere that KTH is blessed with very supportive parents. Indeed, KTH is well-taken care of.

LW looks good with the glasses at the Daejoong ceremony. If it is not for the eye power, glasses are good accessory for both sexes. Glasses make the wearer looks authoritative and smart. I’ve said before that Rain looks good in glasses. Same with KTH, though I don’t see her in glasses since her return from Taiwan for her MP promotion. Her glasses should be for real as she wore glasses in her school pictures and that must be for the eye power. You think Rain is the same, i.e.. wearing glasses for the eye power?

@Nancyzak .......  Waaaaayyyyyyyyy back...... say , before Rain and KTH became a couple, i was already mesmerised by this video. I replayed it uncountable times....on wide screen ,slow-mo or pausing.....  admiring KTH's milky glowing skin. She wore that LBD in low cut style so well. Loved her up-swept hairdo. Then starting in 0:12, her face aligned with Rain's face..... so beautiful. It was perfect in 0:13 and in 0:14..... RAIN SNUCKED A LOOK AT HER... HIS EYES SHIFTED EVER SO SUBTLY BUT SURELY.... Not kidding. !!!  Rain was then at the height of his popularity I think..... idolised , much sought after, fans were in awe..... and in the video he carried much confidence.... like on top of the world even in a short 0:21 time. KTH of course was famous for her beauty and brains. Their stars crossed but it took a few years for the stars to be in harmony. Whew.... !!!! Goosebumps... !!! Love it. Thank you for posting it again .... great nostalgia.

Hi Nancyzak, ye, both award ceremonies were on 2007 & Baeksang came first on April while Daejoong was June.

Glasses are a symbol of sophistication. Many have discovered the joy of specs.  Celebrities have made glasses part of their retro-smart look. I guess this is the reason why RAIN sometimes is wearing specs & not for anything else - hahaha. In case otherwise - of not wearing glasses may include incomplete development of his eyes, he won't be into "active-duty-soldier during his MS days. Because exempt for military service -include those who suffer from medical problems (especially eye problem) or you will be categorized in the fourth class. I remember I was told by my BF before that spectacles don't actually change the "power" of the eye. They change the focal distance, meaning it can improve your sight in a way.

@Nancyzak .......  Waaaaayyyyyyyyy back...... say , before Rain and KTH became a couple, i was already mesmerised by this video. I replayed it uncountable times....on wide screen ,slow-mo or pausing.....  admiring KTH's milky glowing skin. She wore that LBD in low cut style so well. Loved her up-swept hairdo. Then starting in 0:12, her face aligned with Rain's face..... so beautiful. It was perfect in 0:13 and in 0:14..... RAIN SNUCKED A LOOK AT HER... HIS EYES SHIFTED EVER SO SUBTLY BUT SURELY.... Not kidding. !!!  Rain was then at the height of his popularity I think..... idolised , much sought after, fans were in awe..... and in the video he carried much confidence.... like on top of the world even in a short 0:21 time. KTH of course was famous for her beauty and brains. Their stars crossed but it took a few years for the stars to be in harmony. Whew.... !!!! Goosebumps... !!! Love it. Thank you for posting it again .... great nostalgia.

Omoooo.....you got me so excited over your analysis!!! You are right. KTH scored in her fashion that night. Her gorgeousness is given. Rain was before the more fashionable Rain now. When their faces aligned and turned to their right, I could capture that scene and use it for, say wedding card, wedding mugs, etc! Haha...I continue with my confession of 'My-KimBi-Couple-Wedding-Preparedness' here! But with the greatest regret, no matter how many times I watched it, I can't see and feel Rain snucking at KTH.  In my analysis, based on the angle of his face, he was turning his attention to his left but not that far enough to steal a look at KTH.

To me, Rain's mind seems to be occupied by more than half with other things that night and he was not paying attention to anyone and that includes KTH. I have nothing to say here because we all know, they were strangers to each other, then. Heh. 

Shall we then just say that all the cosmic forces finally put the couple seated next to each other that night but the Head of the Romance Deoartment of the Universe, with a wave of her magic wand, swished the forces apart and each flung the opposite of the other and far away to each end of the universe because the time was not right for a fusion. Had it happened it could cause some kind of great calamity that KimBi couple will not survive! Plus, there was a clear absence of Coupang for the couple to touch and hold each other and to be so close to inhale and be intoxicated with each other's perfume and to be giddily attracted to each other and dance together like lovers to become lovers! Coupang was not even born yet! The creator probably still at school!     The minute the forces bounced far apart, KTH had to hurried out of the hall to continue with her filming project. Rain continued with what he had to do, and with mind so occupied that he did not even take a good look at MGY who accepted the popularity award on behalf of KTH. We'll see exactly that had KTH accepted the award herself, hahaha.....Oh My Goodness, i am suddenly so wired with celestial imagination. I hope you are not confused! I need to clear my head now before I reply you at KTH's thread...

Glasses are a symbol of sophistication. Many have discovered the joy of specs.  Celebrities have made glasses part of their retro-smart look. I guess this is the reason why RAIN sometimes is wearing specs & not for anything else - hahaha. In case otherwise - of not wearing glasses may include incomplete development of his eyes, he won't be into "active-duty-soldier during his MS days. Because exempt for military service -include those who suffer from medical problems (especially eye problem) or you will be categorized in the fourth class. I remember I was told by my BF before that spectacles don't actually change the "power" of the eye. They change the focal distance, meaning it can improve your sight in a way.

Ooppsss, sorry for not making myself clear enough. What I meant was whether Rain wears glasses because of his eye sight that needs to be corrected with glasses. I suppose you said that this is not the case for him? It's an accessory for him? I guess that could be the case for him since he scored very high in shooting when he was in the army and that requires good eye sight.

By the way, you told us about MS-leavers who have to report to their station from time to time quite a long time ago. The first report was on the anniversary of their discharge from MS. We knew Rain did that in 2014, when KTH left China where she was filming her WXZ to  return to Seoul and reportedly spent time with Rain. The MS-leavers do that at every anniversary of their MS discharge? All I know is that they don't have to cut their hair for such an occasion. 

This won't apply to Rain, but for those who put on weight, what is expected of them to do when they turn up for the report or having to go through a refresher?

I remember in the comments long ago, the chat was he did snuck a look at her... his eyes were subtly moving from right at 0: 14 to a shifting of his eyes to the left at 0:15.. Did you not see his eyes lifting a teeny bit he started to lift his face forward too. Anyway , the chat at that time was an excited chorus of voices at how he couldn't resist the Nation's most beautiful woman and was aware of her moving about , one minute sitting next to him then out. Oh, apart from that .... what actually happened? She took the wrong seat or she vacated her seat to sit with MGY ?

Hi Nancyzak,  ye, I mentioned that - to those celebrities who are active duty soldiers will be “reserve duty” after discharge. They call you "veteran" - (“Veteran” is the term Koreans use for Korean males who have finished their mandatory military service.) There is such a thing they call “training for military reservists” (this is for all Korean male become military reserve personnel for 5-7 years after their discharge from their mandatory military service) I guess this takes (3) days that’s why, I heard many complained that the training was boring and that the number of days should be reduced. They have to do a 3 -day reservist training per year from the 1st - 4th year of "reservist duty" then down to 1 day (8hrs) per year from the 5th - 8th year. IDK if things have changed now - Korean military reserve personnel have to undergo training every year whether or not there is tension in the Korean Peninsula. After serving in active duty, Korean men are considered to be serving in an inactive duty. For eight years after the end of service, Korean men are supposed to report for a mandatory training up to 100 hours a year. That was RAIN did last time after a year he was discharged & I'm sure still doing that every year & it's just not put into writing that's why, we don't hear or read about it. In case of a war, Korean men in the 8-year period are drafted to fight. Also in case of a war, all Korean men between ages 18 and 45 are drafted for labor mobilization. Ye, they don't need to cut their hair anymore during this time or even dyed hair is allowed. I remember Jo Hyun Jae during his training his hair color is like red wine/burgundy… slightly stained red … What's required is : you SHOULD be in uniform again. And the rule applies again - "no picture-taking allowed when in uniform”. But, you can give an autograph to anyone who asked. All the same, you must meet the minimum screening requirements before training - All soldiers require a current Periodic Health Assessment (PHA) every 12 months and no later than 15 months. So, prior to attending the training, you must meet a weight standard. If you don’t meet the weight & body fat standards in accordance with Army Regulation you will be flagged and documented on your OER (Officer Evaluation Record).  If you are flagged you will not be allowed to perform any other training until the flag is lifted. To remove the flag, you must have a complete body fat taping and forward the results to them or re-enter the weight control program within 12 months & separation action from the Army Reserve will be initiated.
