d3licioushotcakes
I think the worst character in this show is RR. Cool: she married MM and do the whole marriage, marriage goes south due to sis and she leaves. Now she's shacking up with SH? Everything she does just doesn't seem to jive well with me. At this point, the side stories have become more interesting.
jechoi1
This show is getting to be awesome again. Well, as awesome as this show can be taking into account the crazy writing. So, Episode 131:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> MM is a stupid jerk! I can’t believe he went to Director Yoon and asked him for “help” by refusing to cast RR in any dramas. MM assumes that is how RR will continue to earn a living since she refused alimony or any sort of spousal support from MM. And he has the audacity to ask his “hyung” to deny RR any jobs. To me, that makes MM worse than his sisters. OK, so maybe you think you’re still in love with her. But the problem is that you don’t know how to take care of her. And unfortunately, RR is a girl who needs to be taken care of because that’s how she was raised. Despite all her contentions otherwise, she was raised to be nothing but pretty arm candy to the son of a wealthy family. (I will say that last week I felt kinda sorry for MM. I mean he was trying to divorce amicably with RR and she was just giving him the major stink eye and everything. At first, I felt that was rather unfair of RR because she never really explained in detail how miserable she was until after she moved out. Instead, she just kept saying that she wanted to move out. I think she should have given MM more of a warning because you can’t blame him for seeing his sisters through his own rose-tinted glasses. However, I don’t feel any sympathy for him after today’s episode). RR is still somewhat unlikeable to me. It’s just a personal thing, but I want her to be independent and awesome on her own. But the writer wants RR to be fragile and weak and completely dependent on a man and I guess there are viewers that agree with that. RR isn’t a complete parasite since she gives back to “her man” in the form of being a good wife figure. But I do view her as more parasite than an equal because she’s the type of woman whose husband will feel burdened and stressed if he ever lost his job. She’s not the type of wife that such a husband can go to and be honest so that they can work out something together. Instead, her husband will probably get in debt and pretend everything is all right because RR is so fragile that she’ll have her own breakdown if she were to learn that her husband lost his job. Just saying. Evil Sisters. Hah! RR was right and you were both WRONG! I’m glad that Evil #1 doesn’t have anything seriously wrong with her. Because that would suck in the sense that then everyone will try to make up with her. I want her to live forever with the understanding that her precious MM will end up a bachelor because she drove RR out. SH’s Parents. I wish SH would tell his parents soon. My fear is that his parents will not like RR and will give her a hard time. Older generation Koreans still view divorce as a big blemish, especially on a girl and especially when the son comes from a chaebol family. I just hope that SH’s parents don’t view RR as someone who is latching onto their sick son just because she’s lost everything (i.e. husband and mother)—even though that does seem to be what RR is doing. There are only about 20 episodes left, which doesn’t seem like a lot of time to work in the plot where SH’s parents hate RR, but then this writer does like to create pointless plots (i.e. Evil #1’s boring love life). Guest aemi
I've been watching this drama here and there and I have no doubt that RR doesn't actually love SH. What's sad to me is that she's basically encouraging the hopes of a very sick man even though she'll never be able to give him the love he craves. The kinder thing to do is to just be honest with him, encourage him to be honest with his family, and end up single unless MM does a complete 180. Triton823
Strange location for this to happen.....I was watching Dr. Who's 50 anniversary in the theaters when it hit me about mm trying to get rr back in a jealous way through that director....it wasn't until the end of the episode did he find his "oh &$&$&&$&" moment when he realized that his own blood chased rr off. He was going to try to win her back but i think in today's episode mm found out just how horrible his own sisters were to rr and lying to him about their health. I hope mm kicks them out of the house!
Guest tookie18
@rain_drops. Agree about MM and his sisters. Eating healthy is important. However, some people eat healthy their entire lives and still meet untimely deaths. The sisters are getting pay back because of their own evil selves. All of the creepy, undercover stuff they have done is the reason for their suffering. Finally, the hags have been exposed. Pay back time has arrived on scene. Big deal, MM found out about his sisters at his convenience. I truly do not mean to be harsh or unfeeling, I do not believe he deserves any Brownie points. It is just a selfish ploy to get RR to come back. No more retakes with MM and RR please. Hope SH tells his parents before it is too late. Also, that they will be understanding. His parents desire is that he will be happy. @kdramafan1. Agree. SH needs to unzip his lips fast! That is his downfall, not speaking up. It is not a noble thing to do. It is plain stupidity. Ditto on MM. If he really loved RR he would not try to starve her to death. She has to make a living too. @jechoi1. LOL. The arm candy line is so funny. Still laughing, it is so L.A. It is also a blemish on divorce in other cultures also, especially, some religious. Since ancient times men could give their wives a divorce on a whim. If the poor woman sneezed wrong she could get thrown out of the house. The husband could have as many women as he could afford. If a woman marries too many times she is looked down upon, even today. Not condoning anything, just saying. Thank you for saying MM is worse than his sisters. No truer words have been spoken in a long time.
Guest atomickitty
I don't think RR doesn't love SH. There are just different kinds of love. I think her love for MM is that sweeping "ridiculous romantic my heart will go on" kind of love that girls have been brainwashed into thinking is the only way. The kind of Romeo and Juliet love that only tastes good, or burns hotter, with opposition from all sides. The kind of love that always made me wonder, why are they even together? They just met last week and what? They're going to die for each other this week? I personally don't think you can take just part of a person. You have to see the whole... And MM's whole comes with those ridiculous 2 witchy sisters. If I was RR, I would have run away and never looked back after those sisters made my mother cry. My love is not blind, it holds grudges. RR's love for SH is not on the romantic level as it is for MM. I think it's more the love you would have for a really good male best friend. If you're both single, you might wonder what it would be like to be together but you don't cross the line because your life would be horrible if you lost them as a friend. Now, we've seen the stories or romantic comedy movies where the best friends cross the line, and go through some mess, and finally realize their love for each other and end up together. I don't think this is the case for RR and SH right now, but I think it could have been if she ended up married to SH first as she was supposed to. Maybe she had to go see how really and truly horrible MM's sisters are so she could appreciate SH and his family. I think his parents are so nice that they are willing to forgive RR if they hear the whole situation with what's going on with SH. No matter what, I don't think they'll be as nasty as those sisters.I don't know what the end game will be. Will SH's parents accept RR back? Will SH die? Will RR go back to MM? For me to watch her accept MM back, he would have to change SOOO many things about his personality. I mean, how could he go to the Director and ask him not to give her work? WTF is that? WHO DOES THAT? I know you want her back but shouldn't you be thinking of better ways to get her back? Like moving out from under your sister's TOUT DE SUITE and showing RR that you can live without them trying to wipe your bottom every day. How about that? And I have to disagree that RR is a pampered princess that needs taking care of. She can be that way, but when things get bad, she can step up. When her family got into trouble, she was the only one that had a decent job that brought in money. I don't remember her brother's helping out as much as she did. She was so excited when she got the CF because I think a whole chunk of it went into paying her family's debt. If MM will leave her alone and stop interfering, I'm sure she could go back to acting. I think RR is realizing that sweeping romantic love isn't the beginning and end, and doesn't fix everything. I'm glad she initiated the divorce. Some women on other dramas (Goddess of Marriage) wait for the man to do it even when they are so miserable they subconsciously want to die. Guest tookie18
@rain_drops. I agreed with everything you said. That is the reason I mentioned that I did not want to sound harsh. MM and his sisters are not nice people, was trying up be as diplomatic as possible. I understood what you were saying about healthy eating. Recent studies have shown that many people eat well, live a healthy lifestyle and for unknown reasons pass away untimely. I meantioned that MM,s sister is getting payback because she is not sick and her punishment had nothing to do with her being sick. One good thing I can say for the writer, she has us hating MM and his sisters.

Guest aemi
@atomickitty, I think Goddess of Marriage is a bad example because the female lead chose to marry someone who she did not love romantically and suffered a lot because the difficulties associated with living with his family wasn't worth the emotional payoff; she ended up with the person she loved in the end. Romantic love doesn't have to be foolish and it doesn't have to happen only once in our lives - RR leading SH on while not being able to give him the love that he needs is absolutely cruel. She needs to make it clear that she sees him as a friend instead of marrying him on the rebound. Friendship as a basis for marriage sounds nice in theory but partners will get tired of the charade sooner or later. To be clear, I don't think she should end up with MM either. But it's totally possible to admire SH as a character without wishing for him to enter a relationship that will not be emotionally satisfying for either party. Guest atomickitty
@aemi, I used Goddess of Marriage as an example of a woman who did not try hard enough to get out of the bad situation she put herself in but let others decide her life for her. RR said enough and actually walked out. I wasn't using it as an example of love. I will forever be annoyed with the female lead in GoM because even at the very end, the guy she loved had to reach out for her hand and grab it. She just stood there staring at him like an idiot. Many people get married as friends (or even strangers) and grow to love each other. There are whole generations that did that. I think RR and SH have enough chemistry where she could love him. We know she finds him attractive from previous episodes (again, that CF). My whole point is, love does not conquer all. Maybe RR had to marry MM and live with his reprehensible sisters to realize this. If SH is willing to take RR any way he can have her, friend or not, and RR is willing to be had for whatever reason, guilt, grief, rebound etc, then I'm not against what they're doing. Either way, we don't know what the writer will decide to do. Apparently now, RR and PYJ are besties that lunch. I won't gripe too much about that because PYJ seems to be changing into a nicer person and they both share a similar tragedy. I suppose that can make fast friends out of people that couldn't be in the same room without having a laser eyes contest.
Guest aemi
I also come from a background where people are married off by their parents and essentially become best friends. Maybe that's what RR and SH could be for as long as he lives (and everything I've seen convinces me that he's marked for death) but I also feel that everyone deserves to find a soul mate. Maybe MM wasn't RR's because he wasn't willing to fight for her but shunting her off to SH simply because he wants her reeks of a false dichotomy. They're not the only 2 men in the world. I would be down for her providing comfort in his last minutes but to pursue a long term relationship with him would be a betrayal of herself. She doesn't owe SH anything beyond her friendship. These are just my views; at this point I'm kind of just want to get this show over with :-)
watchumlots
WOW! If MM really, truly wanted to reconcile with RR, he would have moved from the house with his sisters to a place they could call their own; not ask for a meeting to say they could live separately from his sisters. The sisters and MM have absolutely no sense of self-awareness. My favorite is that crazy opera-singing sister that sings like a cat wailing and constantly conjures imaginary schemes and scams being plotted against her. Because she plots, schemes, and scams! And sings like a cat wailing.I have been diligently watching and could not have predicted SG's mother dying. WHY? That added nothing to the story. RR's mother dying can create some emotional tension for RR, but that could have been accomplished by MM again rallying her to his side when he and RR face difficulties. What is coming in the next 10 episodes??? * RR marries SH, then he dies and she reconciles with MM. (who would see that coming?)However, MM sisters STILL object. And don't think they won't object, RR will be a divorced and widowed woman! Don't we remember when SM screeched at RR to stay out of MM's life? Don't we remember when the sisters said they HATED her because of her attitude?Don't we remember when the sisters said they HATED her because she talks back to them? The sisters HATE RR simply because MM loves her to the point of distraction. I HATE RR because her character is terribly inconsistent. And I really HATE the 'downcast puppy eyes' look she puts on when faced with something unpleasant. I HATE MM because he is sooooo lame. I don't fault SH because he wanted to approach RR cautiously, I fault him because of his pining for a girl that fell for such a lame sap as MM. Yeah, he may be handsome, and a cool 'writer,' but he's weak and wishy-washy, and ... lame. MM's sisters are easy-to-hate characters. The real star of the show is Dalji. Initially she was a sullen brat, but she's running-the-show at her place. She tamed both SG and her witchy sis-in-law.
kdramafan1
The closeness between SH and RR is so evident in this episode. I too think the writer is trying to portray a different kind of love. To me, this is a much deeper emotion, a love that lasts and makes a successful lasting relationship, as several of you have already pointed out. Hopefully, what SH said at the end of today's episode is an indication that he will overcome his illness and make a miraculous recovery. In today's episode, MM is very very sad, the evil sisters probably think is because of RR. Truthfully, I think it has a lot to do with his huge disappointment in his sisters. I don't want to see the sisters going to beg RR for forgiveness and RR returning to MM. This plot is getting really redundant and boring. With only 20 episodes left, the writer needs to get the story moving quickly, such as SH's parents finding out of SH's illness and accepting RR. The development between PJY and the actor will be way more interesting than SM and the director's.
Guest rain_drops
thank you my house is fine...we had 8 fire trucks to fight the fire and although the house is destroyed, i'm glad people are alive. idk if it was the fire or the hot firefighters that made my face feel like it was on fire even in the 60 degree weather! haha got to love la for the good looking firefighters! :x 20 episodes left?? I haven't been counting...i'm just watching this drama because i invested way too much time already to just drop it...might as well finish it. today's ep was slow! i was looking forward to mm's fight with his sisters...apparently i expected too much! pjy and rr's scene was just way too long and boring. and what was with the scene with rr and sh promising to marry after he gets better...apparently they didn't hear that pinky promises with thumb stamps are made to be broken. and why did sh give his officetel to his parents?? that's just creating an opportunity for his parents to find out about rr through rr's manager! also, korea is just way too conscious about weight! how can sh's dad ask sh's mom to lose 22lb! they should think about their age! that's asking way too much if you ask me-edit. just realized that my post sounded like a rant. i guess i was disappointed than i thought with mm staying true and acting like a wuss. i watch dramas to see characters act out in a "good" (can't find the word that i'm looking for) way that would not normally occur in real life [since dramas are my stress relievers] and this drama started in that way with rr's confidence and etc. but the drama took a wrong turn and it's turning more into a reality with the leading characters taking turns being cautious of how they act and worrying about the consequences. Guest atomickitty
@Triton823, you are really stuck on RR and MM being the end game. I'm not saying that it's not going to happen, but there are about 4 other possibilities that you should let marinate a bit.. RR alone,RR and SHRR and a new, yet unseen, guyRR and the spiritual reincarnation of her dog after it dies because everyone RR loves dies or moves to USA.I'm also curious to know why you feel so strongly that RR and MM will be end game. Do you see signs of him or his sister's changing in the coming episodes? That would be the only way for RR to come back; if something drastic was done to completely and absolutely prove she won't be getting the same treatment from his siblings. I know RR is dumb when it comes to MM but I don't think she's dumb enough to go back for the.. what would this be? Fourth or fifth time? First break up when her father diedSecond break up when her brother found outThird break up when the sister's went to see her motherFourth break up divorce@rain_drops, glad you're OK and if you ask me, it was the hot firefighters. I love firefighters! Why are they so hot??? The last episode was definitely boring. I'm waiting to see SH's mom reaction to finding out SH and RR are cuddling on sofas. I think it's a good thing that she knows her son so well to suspect that something is going on with him and RR. I wonder how it will all unravel. There was talk of extending this past 150 episodes. Does anyone know if they did that? Gosh I hope not. I think they have just enough story now to wrap it up in 20 episodes. They will have to start creating more BS to fill time if they get another extension.
