Playing the part of a secretary of a conglomerate, Kim Hyun Joo shows new office looks each episode on KBS 2TV ‘What’s With This Family.’ Recently, she wore a gray wrap dress for an elegant mood. Simple and composed, the minimal dress emphasized her slim figure with its ribbon detail. 

Kang So Ra transformed into career woman Ahn Young Mi for tvN drama ‘Misaeng.’ On the previous episode, she wore a tailored jacket for a clean-cut style. The beige blazer gives a sophisticated and soft image. In addition, the tiny details of the jacket give a minimal mood.

Jang Hyuk, Cha Ye-ryun win best dressers

Actor Jang Hyuk and actress Cha Ye-ryun were named the best dressed at the 2014 Herald Donga Lifestyle Award on Tuesday.

“It’s my first time receiving the best dressed award,” said Jang at the award ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Seoul. Jang gained huge popularity when he appeared in the reality entertainment show “Real Men” in which eight male celebrities experience life in the army. His comedic role in the TV drama “Fated to Love You” received praise from fans and viewers.

Cha, a former model, was also named best dressed of the year. She has been noted for her style choices and appeared on fashion channels to introduce her fashion items. “The award is like a gift given to me as a year-end present,” she said.

The annual Herald Donga Lifestyle Award was organized by Herald Donga of the cable TV channel Beyond Donga and Herald Corp. It was sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The award recognizes celebrities, companies and designers whose achievements have impacted others’ lifestyles.

More celebrities were recognized for their stunning styles. Actor Park Seo-jun and actress Kang So-ra were named the best styles of the year. Actor Choi Sung-jun, actress Kim Sae-ron and singer Park Bo-ram were named the style icons of the year.

Samsung Electronics, one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers, was given the lifestyle grand prize by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for the third consecutive year for its Galaxy Note 4, released in September.

“It’s an honor to receive the big award. I think it recognized our effort to meet people’s needs for improving their lifestyle with our products and technology,” said Baek Soo-ha, executive director of Samsung Electronics.

The lifestyle award by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in recognition of the promotion of pop culture went to a show production agency HB Entertainment, whose drama creations such as “My Love from the Star” and “My Daughter Seo-young” gained huge popularity in Korea and overseas this year.

Designers were also awarded for their creative designs in accessory and clothes. Womenswear designer Lee Suk-tae of Kaal E. Suktae received the Seoul mayor’s award for his contribution to nurturing young designers.

Bag designer Kim Yoo-hwa and menswear designer Kang Dong-jun also received the Herald Donga award for their unique designs.

On December 11, Kang So Ra and Im Si Wan from “Misaeng” were appointed honorary trade ambassadors for the Korea International Trade Association.

Kang So Ra shared her feelings at a ceremony for the two actors, showing her respect for those in the industry and displaying her humor. She stated, “I am honored that my first time being an ambassador is as a trade ambassador. I thought I would probably be an ambassador for something related to eating. There are many in the trade industry with great skills and who work very hard, so it is a respected field. I have been learning these things through filming the drama.”

“Misaeng” tells the story of employees at One International, a fictional international trading company.
