Hopefully we'll get better scans but Hyukie nonetheless looks good...just look at his eye expression.

Hi Jill,

I just have the time to click the video you attached.

Ocha - This is what Zhu Dan said in 1:27:

I always say that I am a newbie, this is not only refering to my acting but I just realised that actually in acting, there are a lot of things to take into consideration. There is alot of things you need to know, but I have not done it before. The team was very very good and they have given me support like a family but because I was not matured and insensitive and caused some misunderstandings so many times I will like to apologise to them. At the same time also thank them because they tolerated me, encouraged and supported me.

The most memorable point was when me and Hyuk, because we were the two who finished the last. We were on the streets of Tokyo, in the crowd just me and him with the crew. They could still stay on the following day, but I had to rush back to China on the next day. So in the last scene, we were in the crowd walking and we didnt have to say a single word and just continue walking. Then I had to lug my luggage to the airport. Tears stream down my face. I just felt that those 3 months, was really helpful in my development allowing me to know how to act but also how to be an actress to get along with people so I think all of them, their sincerity is very good.

(She is a MC, so she can talk alot!!I translated all of what she say, because I am sure as a veteran and not speaking the same language, Hyuk would have had to be very patient with her.)

At the last part, one reporter asked if they tried to learn each other's language to which Zhu Dan said she felt very bad because Hyuk learnt alot of Mandarin but she and Cheryl Yang just learn and forget. She only know Pap mol go yo (have you eaten) and Cheryl Yang said Saranghaeyo. Hyuk said "You are prepared already?"

yeah Hyuk look like a bobbing doll! haha, but I think his translator is quite good, and do concurrent translation. Maybe I should go and be one too and apply to be his personal translator but I dun speak korean. hahaha.

I havent got a chance to watch AAE yet, yesterday was the first ep, will try to watch it tonight. Havent found any online video of ep1. There is a China link to it but it require downloading some software which I try not to do, because alot of times they messed up my computer. Will wait for the links up on normal video sharing sites.

o-cha, qwenli, and everyone: Here's what ockoala (aka 68dragon) just tweeted about the AAE remake! :)

Just watched ep1 of ABE C-remake - verdict: acting from all 4 leads is great!, story is fast, I actually like it, except overuse of music.

Asked her whether it was weird listening to a dubbed voice instead of ♥Hyuk's♥ voice; she replied "It was and I'll never prefer it, but it's okay after awhile esp since all the leads are acting so naturally."

We'll be waiting for the verdicts from hahatk, qwenli, and any other Chinese speakers...!

Wave to all Hyukie fangirls....

Here are the first 2 episodes of Chinese AAE remake w/o Eng sub:

Enjoy!

Thanks, laura! I'm checking Ep 1 out now...I have to say, I really dislike listening to all the dubbing instead of the actual actors  ...and, as ockoala intimated, the music is just awful! I might just watch w/o audio!!!!! :sweatingbullets:

Edit: Thanks, again, to Laura! I just watched Ep 1 and it was okay! Plot is not identical to the original (actually, that's a good thing... <_<). Cast seems very good. It is disconcerting listening to dialogue that does not match lip movements. This has always bothered me with the Chinese dramas that use dubbed voices, even when it may very well be the actors themselves doing the dubbing! But it's not a total turnoff! Ep 1 is about 45 mins and it looks like Ep 2 is a half-hour. So, girls, not too much of a time commitment to see our boy in action!

I did a quick First Impression write up of the AAE remake if anyone is curious to read more about what the first 2 episodes were like. It was two full episodes, 45 min. each, so the premiere was a nice 1.5 hrs long, and a long enough to make a meaningful impression.

http://ockoala.wordpress.com/2010/09/21/first-impression-all-about-eve-c-drama-remake/

I think this drama will be pretty popular in China, it's on the better side of most trendy C-dramas I've seen snippets of. Good for Jang Hyuk, would hate for any project of his not to be well-received. He's got two great Chinese actress co-stars, so thank heavens for that. :D

^^ Nice writeup! Thanks for posting the link! Yeah, the dubbed voice is nothing like JH's. The rest of the dubbing might seem a little odd to anyone who hasn't seen one of these dramas. The words never QUITE match the lip movements...I will listen for that song...Can you confirm your suspicions??? ^_^

I still have to watch the second Tudou video, which is just 30 minutes...

I agree: this is definitely better than waiting for who knows how long until he shows up in another drama... blush.gif

Thanks again, Laura and ockoala ~ ockoala's link lacks audio (tried twice) so must be a corrupt file. I will give the others from Laura a try. What I did was watch the first 30 mins of Ep 2 using Laura's second [original] link. So I just need to find the last 15 mins with sound!!! :P

Edit: Laura, this one is working just fine! Thanks again for helping us out here!

I admire anyone who can sit thru a Chinese drama, nowadays I dun have the patience. First, I cant stand the audio and second I just want them to tell me the story quickly. I will just wait for more eps and fast fwd thru. I wont have much time these few weeks anyway. However the dubbing doesnt really bug those who are used to Chinese Drama and doesnt knw Hyuks voice.

By the way it seems like the show is 30eps, but if they screen 2 in one day and broadcast it Mon - Fri than it should finish rather quickly.

@ Jill

The link to ep. 2 I posted not having any sound is hilarious, bc you just mentioned you wanted to watch it with the sound off! Mwahahaha, talk about random occurence of serendipity. Anyways, glad the right link got shared!

I normally shy away from C-dramas, but the quality has been improving, and with this talented cast of leads and a surprisingly nice start to the drama, I know it'll be a nice way to spend time with JH for a few weeks! And that is always a treat. blush.gif

lol-049.gifThat occurred to me as well... I don't know which would have been worse. Sound or no sound!!! muahaha.gif As I was watching, about every 10 mins I could recognize a word or phrase by calling upon my teeny Chinese vocabulary (ni hao, hao bu hao, xiao [small], and some others... ) Other than that, I'm like confused-scratch.gif Ha ha ha!

I know what qwenli means and she's busy and has no extra time to spare...but I look at it as you do...if I continue to watch, however, I'll likely be fast-forwarding, I know...still, it might turn out to be more fun than I was expecting... laughing.gif (Sure do miss that voice though...)

Have been sick and busy lately. Just want to post some links for watching the Anchor Beauty.

Baidu link to watch it live:

http://tieba.baidu.com/f?kz=893844871

Links to watch online:

http://www.tv1999.com/dsj/qingchunouxiang/1085.html

I've watched 3 eps so far. The quality of qiyi is the best cuz it's HD(?)and plays smoothly , no additional installation required. Watched very few dramas fr. China before, Anchor Beauty is actually much better than I expected (was planning to FF just to watch Hyuk's part only :P ). I don't have a big problem of listening to Hyuk in a dubbed voice ( of course it'd have been much better to hear his own voice; however, it's impossible :( ) Cheryl Yang is great in there. Zhu Dan is surprisingly good considered this is her 1st leading role ever.

The producer said to the press that the production costs for this drama was 22,000,000 RMB (approx. US$ 3.3 mil). Half of it went to the castings and Hyuk got a major cut of it. However, they've got back all the investment by selling the copyrights only to 10 different countries/TV stations before it's even broadcasted. He continued saying that normally it's difficult for a trendy/melo drama fr. China to sell oversea, but they sold it to Japan with highest $ ever. He openly expressed that it's because of the publicity of Jang Hyuk in oversea. Hyuk was worth every penny (They're really lucky to have Hyukie in it  ).

I haven't had a chance to watch Anchor Beauty yet (just been way too busy..sigh) but reading from all of your comments seems like it's better than expected (yay!).

Do any of you know if there are any subbers working on subbing this drama? hehehe..I know it's a small chance but I have to ask

I'll try to catch 1 or 2 episode today.
